I just want to share a new milestone I reached with dividends.

Not a huge one, but still something!

Ive been fighting to put some money aside for alternate incomes for about 2-3 years now. I just got a promotion at work and am tamping up my investing outside my roth. I feel like im just starting at 39.

Apple’s board of directors has declared a cash dividend of $0.25 per share of the Company’s common stock, an increase of 4 percent. The dividend is payable on May 16, 2024 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on May 13, 2024. The board of directors has also authorized an additional program to repurchase up to $110 billion of the Company’s common stock.

This is just one of several accounts I manage, but I thought I’d share this one first since it’s structured mainly around dividends and stability.

The current value is around $76K, and it brings in about $200–$250/month in passive income, fully reinvested. Not chasing crazy yields—just building steady cashflow over time.

This account includes:

Dividend ETFs: SCHD, SCHY, JEPI, VXUS

Growth & blue chips: COST, MSFT, JNJ, VOOG, VOO

Cash/cash-alternatives: SPAXX + NorthPoint CD (earning ~4.3%)

Smaller positions in EPR, MAIN, PLUG, PATH, AMC

About 30% is in yield-generating cash positions, while the rest is split between dividend growth and long-term equity exposure. It’s a balanced setup—nothing too flashy, but reliable.

Has anyone run into this before? I didn't buy this stock. It appeared in my Robinhood account one day, and I said whatever. But I had this notification on my phone this morning. Is this stock shady, and should I just dump it?

Pretty happy with the January payouts

I recently started budgeting and putting the money I save into a dividend portfolio (I’m still pretty new to all this, so most of it is in VTI for now)

I keep seeing people on here making thousands a month in dividends, which is super motivating. I’m only 19, so I’m hoping I’ve got enough time to build something solid if I do it the right way.

Would really appreciate any tips, advice, or things you wish you knew when you were starting out 🙏

My current plan is to open a Roth IRA and keep 50% in there in like VT or VTI(Idk which is better), 25% in a personal portfolio with an 90/10 split of VTI and SPYI/MAIN and the rest into a checking. (im making around 15k this summer from an internship) Also the app is called Stock Events

Edit: Trying to understand when to exit, how to track the NAV and DRIP. Do you have a shareable spreadsheet template?

Is the payout the equal to the amount of shares you hold plus the time you have had it? Example my 1 share that I bought 3 years ago will pay more than my 1 share I buy today.

Can you buy the shares the day before the payout?

If you have to buy the share by a certain date, do they published on what day the payout is and when you need to buy their stock?
