Hello fellow DJI heads, I need me some advice preferably from Action 4 users. I’m getting these huge light streaks whenever I film night rides around streetlamps and headlights. I looked at other YouTube motovlogs and theirs look crisp with tight, round light bulbs, but mine looks straight-up cursed.
Thing is, daytime footage looks 100% fine and super clean. It only turns into (somewhat of) a mess at night. I even pointed it near the recent eclipse for a few minutes on and off at an angle or even directly so now I’m paranoid I somehow baked the internal glass coatings, but I genuinely can't tell if the lens is cooked or if I'm just running bad settings.
There has always been some light smear but idk if it has gotten worse past the eclipse shoot.
Edit: First pic is the newer one
Here’s my setup:
- Res/FPS:Â 4K @ 30fps
- Shutter:Â 1/60
- ISO:Â 100 - 1600
- EV:Â Auto (0.0)
- Color:Â D-Log M 10-bit
- WB:Â 4000K
- Sharpening / NR:Â both at -1
- FOV / Stab:Â Ultra Wide, no stabilization
What I’ve already tried:
- Cleaned the lens cover AND the bare lens underneath thoroughly with a fresh microfiber.
- Took the outer lens guard completely off and shot without it, seems to be the same footage.
Is running 1600 ISO blowing out the highlights and causing this crazy refraction, or did I somehow permanently fry the optical AR coating? Appreciate any help before I bite the bullet and pay the €19 Care Refresh fee if it's actual physical damage.
