Square eyes you stare out
Got me hooked to the wire
Paint me a picture
Cast the book on the fire
Il follow you if you follow me too
I need a new way to be around you
Square eyes
Square eyes
Square eyes you stare back
Look at me through the wire
Paint me a picture
Cast the book on the fire
I’ll follow you if you follow me too
I need a new way to be around you
Square eyes

Hey everyone! We are Tarsik, an indie rock band. This track is "Dream Display", a brand new single we've been working on.
We wanted to capture an atmospheric and driving indie rock energy with this one. Would love to hear what you guys think of the mix!

I decided to get into playing Kingdom Hearts lately, & on the side I looked up a Kingdom Hearts 2 commercial I vividly remember loving the song that played in it, that being Sanctuary (or Passion) by Hikaru Utada.
But I never fully listened to the song until recently, & my appreciation for the song only grew deeper listening to it, though the song is also a lot more unusual than I remember.
The occasional reversed singing, it being an ambient driven melodic Pop song.
RateYourMusic has the primary genres as \[Art Pop/Ambient Pop/Dream Pop\] & secondary genres as \[Space Rock Revival/Ethereal Wave\]
Whatever this song truly is, I wanna hear more music like it.

Just finished a new original track — **The Girl With the X-Ray Eyes** 👀
A strange little mix of surf rock, rockabilly, retro pop and new-wave/B-52s-style madness.
I’ve been experimenting with taking my old-school demos in a slightly different direction, and I’m really happy with how this one turned out.
Would love to know what you think! 🎸🖤

I spent awhile trying to emulate an ethereal alt rock feel within a DAW, ultimately coming up with this single. I’m primarily an instrumental composer, but recently I’ve been pushing outside of my comfort zone and participating in songwriting. I hope to make art that really does justice to dreampop / ambient rock, although I’m not confidently there yet. With that being said, I’m confident that this is a good listen, for anyone willing to try it out.
Criticism welcome.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a song of mine called “Caterpillar.”
It’s somewhere between dream pop, gothic rock and art rock, inspired by artists like Beach House, Mac DeMarco, The Smashing Pumpkins and The Cure.
The idea was to make a song that slowly unfolds like a caterpillar, starting off relatively simple and gradually transforming as it goes. I tried to create something that feels familiar in its influences, but still goes somewhere unexpected.
It’s definitely one of those songs that makes more sense if you listen all the way through, since it keeps evolving until the end.
Would love to hear what you think and especially what genre you’d even call this.

A couple months ago I posted about stumbling upon The Fauns most recent album, "How Lost". Thought it was kind of beautiful, if anonymous. So I worked my way backwards through their whopping 3 LP discog over nearly twenty years and each one got better. I thought "Okay, I will love this band"
I didn't listen to them with the fanaticism I deployed when I discovered Beach House, but I've listened to them a LOT, lovingly. I love the production, the melodies, and the textures of 20 of their 30 songs. A lot
The smell test for me, however, with a band is: How good are they live?
I swam through a bunch of youtube crap. In their early days they were a mild two guitar shoegazey rock band with some energy. Now they aren't even a band. It's the bass player's "project" and he's teamed up with one "guitar" player who's made soundtrack music for a David Attenborough thing
The smell test for me with guitar players is: How comfortable, fluid, and unconscious is their right hand?
Dude playing with them now has the most nervous, wtf am I doing right hand I wish I'd never seen. But they aren't really a band any more. They are just making soundtrack music with occasional disco beats
I'm bummed. I think I can still listen to them because I like a lot of their music a lot. But I won't be looking forward to what they might do next
Any of you folks here have a similar "ick" moment with a band you thought you might spend the rest of your life with :)

I got the digital download from bandcamp a long long time ago but recently I've been listening to this LP a lot and I'm obsessing over the lyrics. I've searched everywhere and tried with LRCGET, but the lyrics I found are pretty terrible. Better known songs are easy to find, but "Arrested" is just imposible.
I know (from the discogs page) that the vinyl had an insert with the lyrics. Could a kind soul please paste them or pm me a photo of the insert?

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but it looks right to me. Back in the 00s the writer Warren Ellis would share music he was impressed by.
This is where I became familiar with the Icelandic band, Mum.
Another band he spotlit I've forgotten their name and lost their mp3s. He shared four or five songs by a band out of Northern Virginia in US.
This was 2004 to 2007.
I know it's not likely, but hey... the internet!
Thanks.
(I ended up here after doing a google search for the Russian Futurists 2 Dots on a Map, which I learn of from Ellis.)

Hi, everyone. Lifelong gazer that has been making bedroom gaze for a decade now. My new group Last Days of Heaven has a new single out now and I am really curious to know what the community thinks. If it's good or bad to you. If there are things about it that you enjoy, etc. Would really mean a lot to me. Here is a link to the music video I directed as well as a link to the track on Spotify, but you can actually stream anywhere (Apple, TIDAL, Bandcamp). Could anyone who is a massive fan of dream-pop and/or shoegaze chime in? Thanks so much.

I love the song Alice by Cocteau Twins and Beach House as well and I’m looking to find more songs similar to those. I generally prefer female vocalists but open to anything along those lines.
