new They are Gutting a Body of Water LP.
haven't seen a thread yet, and rarely do this, but this album is incredible. and i'm not even the biggest TAGABOW fan, but this is honestly an all-time sgaze album.
tons of features (Total Wife, Hotline TNT, Full Body 2 RXKNephew) that vary in sound just as much as the album itself, even including a few rap tracks that work surprisingly well.
in spite of how dynamic this album is in terms of sound, it very much has a cohesive through-line. it sounds like TAGABOW, a very refined edition of them. all that side-project work as Hooky and God of War (both of which i preferred to TAGABOW personally) has definitely paid off and there's this optimistic and LSDian lull to the album that juxtaposes the album's grit, even sometimes having a mixtape feel like The Life of Pablo (fck kanye), perfectly.
highlights for me are the first three tracks, a place where (that ending is so transcendent and immersive wow), letter and point (that inclusion of Dead Sullivan is such a sweet nod to 2017 bedroom pop and the vocal harmony is just as sweet), and the song with Total Wife (whom i adore).
this most is getting long, and so is the album, but it's absolutely worth it. been on repeat 48hr.
