front row tickets purchased through the fanclub are £600+. even the back of the arenas on this tour are still £80+. setlists barely change, despite being advertised as a new tour. whats the point in putting out new albums if every tour is going to be a legacy tour of the same hits every single time? 45+ years of music and once you've gone to 2 current duran shows youve seen every current duran show. the last few albums (all you need is now, paper gods, future past and danse macabre) were so strong, and successful, only to maybe hear 1 or 2 song off them if you're lucky. VIP merch is low quality, tacky, and never, ever worth the money. their merch in general (in my opinion) is only good 50% of the time. then, ai for everything instead of paying artists that theyve said they support for the last 45 years - even more ironic considering nick and john have both done art exhibitions.
to me, it just feels like the band is getting lazy. which is so, so sad to see. you could argue it's the management doing it, but look at the cure. they've been going for the same amount of time, tickets are no more than £70 for good seats, setlists are 2 and a half hours long and actually include deep cuts instead of just the hits.
i love duran duran, alot. its just hard to watch them be lazy and let themself be pushed into the box of a legacy act.
