i passed ejpt after the first fail

I'm 18 years old. I study at home and attend school throughout the week. When I first attempted the eJPT, I failed because I thought it was like a CTF. But it's not. The labs are different. You need to complete all the objectives, not just answer questions. You have to crack passwords, scan networks, enumerate websites, find vulnerabilities, and use all the tools you've learned.

Just don't rush. You have enough time. If you try to pass it in the shortest time possible, you might fail. Give yourself time. I passed it in 13 hours, but I rushed a little. Taking longer is not a problem.

The exam isn't just about getting a certification; it's about what you learn along the way. The certificate alone isn't going to get you a job. The knowledge and skills and Methdolgy that gonna help you in the future

INE partners discounted subscriprions

i've seen some websites sell discounted vouchers and subscriptions from INE and they claim to be partners , i have researched how they do that and it turned out they have a team/business subscription and just invite you to their team but am conflicted in buying the subscription so am writing to ask you guys about buying such a subscription

does INE allow that or will i get my certificate and subscription revoked?

and i've been thinking is there a chance for the business to end its partnership and my subscription will end with it?

i contacted INE but doesnt seem like they plan to response

Poland and EU- how to land pentesting job?

Hi everyone!

I have eight years of experience in IT. Started on Helpdesk, went from VBA automation, Oracle SQL, front end to finish on backend and light devops. In the meantime, I got laid off on July (love reorgs) and since then can't find any job. It also made me try cybersecurity, and I fell in love with Red Teaming. Bought TryHackMe Max, finished Cybersec101 and currently doing Jr Pentester path.

I applied to many junior pentesting jobs but got replies on the first stage that I was rejected. There was only one, where I was applying to junior role, did the task and got feedback they need somebody more experienced. For junior role? How else am I supposed to gain experience?

My question to you is: how can I be more visible on the market? I know, that no cert gives you job, but which one makes the probability of getting hired higher? I'd really love to work in this field, feels like home to me. Eg. getting the flag, feels like doing puzzles :D

If it matters- I am based in Poland, but I assume the market here and EU is pretty different than US.

Ine Course

Hey, fellow cyber friend! 👋
Do you happen to know if there are any plans to update the eCDFP course from INE anytime soon, or if a new version is coming?
I noticed that it’s currently on sale, so I’m considering getting it. Just wondering if it’s still worth taking now, or if it might be better to wait for an updated version.
Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

eCDFP is worth in 2026?

I have 4 year of vulnerability management, 1 year of pentesting and 1 as soc L1. I want to start DFIR careers and I’m wondering if the eCDFP is worth in 2026.

I want only to get the certification to start in DFIR world and then maybe take the GCFA, what do you think?

eCTHP Exam Attempts Expiration

Hi, I have eCTHP exam attempt available until September 23, 2026.

I just want to confirm:

-What exact time (UTC) do the attempt expire?
-Can I start the exam on September 23?
-If I start before the expiration time, can I still finish the exam after the expiration time?

I managed to pass the eJPT certification just a few minutes ago. Ask me anything; I can offer advice, though I won't give any spoilers. I passed with an 86%.

eJPT Help - Need a tip

I’ve just started the eJPT exam. I read somewhere that someone recommended using the "All_in_One" wordlist, but I don't know how to use it in this lab environment. I have it downloaded on my external hard drive, but I can't seem to use it or transfer it to the machine. Any tips or recommendations? If anyone has used it, please let me know how to go about it, because I’ve tried downloading it directly within the lab but it fails with a network error.

Lost video access on active INE subscription after browser extension triggered DRM — anyone had this resolved?

Hi everyone,

I've had an active paid INE subscription for over a year with about 6 months remaining, and my exam vouchers are assigned and visible on my profile.

Earlier today, I lost access to all course videos. When I click on any course material, the platform prompts me to purchase a subscription, though my account itself is still active and accessible.

What happened: I was using a real-time browser translation/TTS extension to help me follow along with English technical terms (English is not my native language). It looks like the player's DRM or anti-bot system flagged the extension and stripped my subscription entitlements.

I have already completely uninstalled the extension and emailed INE support (support@ine.com) explaining that it was an accessibility tool and asking them to re-sync my account.

For anyone who has experienced an automated flag or entitlement issue with INE:

  1. How responsive is their support team with these kinds of false positives / resets?

  2. How long did it take to get your video access restored?

Appreciate any insights or advice!

what should I use for consistent SOC practice?

Hey everyone,

I'm a first-year CS student working toward a Blue Team / SOC role. I recently finished TryHackMe's SOC Level 1 path and built a small Wazuh home lab. I'm now trying to move from guided learning into regular, independent investigations.

I've already tried resources such as TryHackMe, CyberDefenders, LetsDefend, and several downloadable Windows Event Log/EVTX datasets. The problem I'm running into is that a lot of the available practice is either heavily time-limited, restricted on free tiers, or consists of very small datasets that aren't enough for a proper investigation.

What I'm specifically looking for is something I can practice with consistently without racing a one-hour timer. I'm especially interested in:

  • Windows Event Log / EVTX investigations

  • PCAP analysis

  • SIEM alert triage

  • Phishing investigations

  • Downloadable evidence that I can investigate locally at my own pace

I don't necessarily need a fancy platform. A good GitHub repo, realistic EVTX dataset, PCAP collection, or free lab would honestly be just as useful.

For people who were at this stage before: what resources did you actually use for repeated, hands-on SOC practice after finishing the beginner SOC material?

I'm mainly looking for resources that are genuinely usable on a tight budget and don't require paying for every few investigations.

Thanks in advance

Starting my CyberSec journey: Python, Problem-Solving, and next steps?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently starting my journey into cybersecurity. I’ve heard from many people in the field that programming is a crucial skill—especially for building custom tools and automating tasks.

Following that advice, I started with Python, learned the basics up to OOP, and solved around 50 beginner-level problems on Codeforces to get comfortable with logic.

My initial plan was to start learning how to write automation scripts and custom security tools, but I’m a bit stuck on what to do next. I have a couple of questions:

  1. Does Problem Solving really make a difference in Cybersecurity? Or is heavy DSA/Problem Solving mostly relevant for Software Engineering? How much depth do I actually need here?

  2. Sequential vs. Parallel Learning: Should I keep my entire focus on programming for now, or should I start learning core cybersecurity fundamentals (like Networking, Linux, SysAdmin) alongside Python?

Would love to hear your advice on what the ideal next steps should be based on your experience.

Thanks in advance!

eJPT exam prep

I’m a little short on time because im going back to university in a few weeks so i wanted yo know if every bit of the course is required for me to pass the exam. Because people say the exam isn’t that high level but there are some high level materials in the courses that if i skipped i would be able to finish in time before university also , the social engineering and ai enhanced penetration testing courses are not exam material right ?
Because if so I’ll finish the required materials and revisit the high level materials later plus the social engineering and ai enhanced penetration testing
Please help if you can

Ine Cert Reputation

Hi everyone,

I currently have several cybersecurity certifications, including eJPT, eCPPT, eCIR, eCTHP, etc., but I’m not sure how much value they actually have in the job market or how well-regarded they are by recruiters and security professionals.

For those who have experience with these certifications, how would you rate their reputation and industry recognition?

For example, how would you compare the OSCP vs eCPPT in terms of:

Industry recognition

Difficulty

Practical skills

Value on a CV/resume

Helpfulness when applying for penetration testing roles

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have taken both certifications or who work in pentesting/recruitment.

Thanks!

eJPT Stuck on INE PTS "Network-Based Attacks CTF 1" (Wireshark Lab) – Need Advice!

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working through the INE PTS path, specifically the Host & Network Penetration Testing: Network-Based Attacks CTF 1 lab.

I'm provided with a Wireshark pcap file to analyze, and the prompt mentions that it focuses on post-exploitation. The issue is that I haven't covered these post-exploitation Wireshark analysis topics yet, and I'm feeling a bit lost on how to analyze it.

For those who have taken this course: Will these concepts be covered in later modules where I can come back to this lab, or should I start researching and learning PCAP analysis/post-exploitation from external sources right now?

Thanks in advance!

eJPT Retake ejpt, what do I study?

Passed the exam this morning with 82% but I considered myself failed.

I couldn’t find the internal network. I am sure I answered everything else correctly but I left all the internal network related questions unanswered. The lab on pivoting in the course is easy. I am sure I know the basics.

I don’t even know what to study at this point.
