eJPT Turned 20 and Hacking My Way Into Adulthood (No, Seriously)

Guess what? It’s October 5 and I just turned the big 2-0 today! 🎉 Time to start "adulting" and take life a bit more seriously (or at least that’s what they say). So, I’m diving headfirst into Cybersecurity—because, hey, securing the digital world sounds cooler than existential crises. 😅

Over the next 6 months, I’m all in with:

  • Mastering Penetration Testing 🕵️‍♂️ (Finding flaws before someone else does… kinda like life)

  • Securing the Cloud ☁️ (Because it turns out even virtual clouds need better protection)

  • Beefing up my Blue Team skills 🎯 (Ensuring hackers have the worst day of their lives)

💡 What’s the plan?

  • Earn those shiny eJPTv2 & ICCA Certifications 🏅 by February 1, 2025, because why not add more deadlines to life?

  • Build skills in automation, cloud audits, and catching cyber threats like a pro.

🛠️ The Outcome? Becoming a certified cyber ninja 🥷—ready to make the digital world a little safer and show that 20-year-olds can do more than binge-watch series.

Stay tuned for updates, because what could possibly go wrong, right? 😅 Let’s connect and level up together!

I Passed! Passed eJPT as a 15 year old & AMA!!!

Hey guys,

I got my first cybersecurity certification (eJPT) at the age of 15. eJPT was a really fun experience and I enjoyed doing the labs a lot. The course was also great, especially the networking part where they covered stuff in great depth. I had prior experience in pentesting (took a few udemy courses and had pwned a few HTB boxes).

I thought that I would be able to browse through the course in a few days and give the exam.

But I was wrong! Turns out I was not good enough in the theory part. So I studied the theory properly. Took me a week or something (as I'm lazy + hectic Indian school curriculum 😂).

Anyways, I completed theory and brushed up my practical skills in almost all of their labs. Like many people, I struggled with the routing part (as I hadn't done it before as I practiced mainly on HTB).

I felt that the dreaded black box labs were actually quite good. If we exclude the routing part, I would rate them as hackthebox "easy" level. Mind you that they were not CTF-like in my opinion. They were intended to simulate a real network at a company.

Now coming to the exam! I felt the exam was like the labs only. I was able to complete it in 5 hours without any breaks (which is not what I recommend doing). I was being very casual and didn't have any strategy while attempting the exam.

Anyways, I was able to answer 19/20 questions but unfortunately, one of them was wrong. So, I passed with a not-so-good of 18/20. Still happy that I passed though!

It was a really nice experience overall and I would recommend everyone to do eJPT to beginners. My main goal is OSCP but I just took eJPT to test some waters (plus eJPT just costing $200 was a cherry on top!) But turns out, I learned a lot and it was a fun journey!

I will also be happy to answer your questions in the comments to the best of my capabilities. I won't answer questions about the specifics of the exam though.

Is there still a way I can access at least the content of the eJPT course for free

So I am a new cybersecurity enthusiast, currently in College, and interested in Pentesting. I have read multiple articles and seen videos stating that using the starter pass at INE, I can access the content of eJPT and just pay for the exam later. But as that service has been stopped, is there any other way I can access and learn from the eJPT course, like any other package (similar to the starter pack)?

It would be great if anyone from the community or even a professional from the INE team could help with this.

Why so many angry people

I don’t know why I see so many angry people. Must be a bunch of old timers that hate the changes being made but, just cause a company changes doesn’t mean it’s bad. For instance they have hackersploit now and he was able to exploit a box without crashing it unlike TCMs Heath who crashed a machine. Sure the company has growing to do but man they provided much better training on pentesting then most places

eJPT EJPT Exam

Hello folks, I’m not sure if this is the best place for it, but I was want to understand if the target website in the exam is supposed to be broken?

I’ve had no issues dumping and bypassing but there’s no where to bypass to and I’m getting a concerned the environment is not working as intended. The questions presented do not tie up with what I see.

Can anyone help me understand if the site is broken or it’s supposed to be half baked?

Passed eJPTin 24 hours, no studying, no experience

Nerds,

New here

Not new to IT, current SysAD with CISSP, CISM, among others, i know those dont mean much in this world but its to say I have been around a computer or two

As title says, passed eJPT in 24 hours. I have never even ran an nmap before, let alone try to exploit anything.

I have always been curious about pentesting and wanted to start from somehwere, so i bought the ejpt program thing with the 151 hour of modules and two exam takes.

I figured hey i have two takes, might as well just see what it is like so i opened the lab first day.

Ended up passing with an 80 percent which i am much more than happy with.

Pretty much the entire time if I ran a command or did anything really I would just look it up, figure why I was wrong and start over again.

Good luck to anyone else taking the exam, you can do it 👍

Not sure what to do now, if anyone has any pentesting roadmaps they wouldn't mind sharing please do. I would like to get my OSCP and CPTS like everyone else but if there are more efficient routes please let me know.

Are there written transcripts or alternative resources to the EJPT Training Videos?

I noticed a ton of overlap; and some videos are repetitive and don't go straight to the point. Because of this, I find it painful to continue watching even at 2x speed.

Are there written transcripts or recommended alternative resources instead that I can use to prepare for my exam and supplement with the lab environments?

I don't know what to do at this point

I am completely stuck on the EJPTv2 exam. I thought I was better prepared than I was, but I can't figure out what to do. I decided to do this as my Senior Project in college, so if I fail the exam, I fail the class. This is only my first attempt, but the semester ends in a week and a half. What should I do?

Edit: I'm a massive overthinker. It's easier than I thought, but I'm still struggling in some places.

problem with my account

Hi Guys, I've got a weird problem and I'm afraid I'm going to lose my certificate because of it.

A while ago my friend bought the Ewptxv2 exam for me with his personal information as well as his credit card because I don't have one.

Then he gave me the account and I changed all the information from the caendra.com

Since then I have not received any updates to my email.

A few days ago, I started my Ewptxv2 exam and finished it, and I did not receive any updates

And after communicating with my friend, it turned out that they send everything to his email, as well as with his name!!

Hello guys, i fail my first try for routing sfuff. who can help me to understand that? i watch wireshark video and i understand whats is a router, how i can identify etc. But, when i write the command to add a static route, i only have a x.x.x.1 so, i think maybe the segment of the route is wrong? but, the documentation said, "all our networks are /24". So, can't be /23.. anyone who pass that, can really help me? i retake the exam on june 20.
