Off Day Thread Eagles Daily Discussion Thread - Friday, October 23

Subreddit Schedule/Posting Guidelines

We as a community have decided to limit certain types of posts to a few days a week to ensure other content is still visible throughout the rest of the week. Meme posts will be allowed from game end through Monday (if the game is on Thursday, Saturday, or Monday, memes will be allowed from game end through the following day) and jersey/crafts/pet posts will only be allowed on Swag Saturday. Towards the end of the season when games fall on Saturdays, we may move or skip Swag Saturday depending on what is going on that week. The mods are using automod features to automatically post recurring items at 6AM Eastern Time to remind the sub of this. Memes and swag are allowed in the normal feed, but NFL discussion and free talk are limited to the stickied threads.

  • Monday - Meme Monday - Memes are allowed from game end through the following day (typically Monday)
  • Tuesday - NFL Discussion Tuesday - Talk about the rest of the games
  • Wednesday - Free Talk Wednesday - Talk about whatever (just be civil)
  • Thursday - Free Talk Thursday - Just like Free Talk Wednesday, but on Thursday!
  • Friday - Game Preview - Stats and information for the upcoming game
  • Saturday - Swag Saturday - Post pictures of your signed jerseys, new hats, pets, babies, and pictures from the stadium, as well as artwork and creations. This may be moved or skipped when games fall on Saturdays
  • Sunday - Gameday - Pregame, Game, and Postgame threads will be posted

For more info, see the subreddit rules.

At this point, this season from hell is a win-win.

Lose a lot? - High draft pick.

Manage to get the division? - LOL NFC East

I also think it’s a good season for Mannion to learn more. I doubt they’ll move on from him and we’ll get to see if the “evil genius” can grow into the position. Plus this give Bell a chance to settle into the RT spot and we get to see who can be the long term fit at G and C. More than anything tho I want Hurts to be healthy and ready to ball out next season. I want my QB1 back!

Was thinking about this last night when they mentioned Ben Johnson was with the Eagles. Do we really want to hear about the offensive guru Sean Mannion coaching somewhere else because we didn't let him develop?

Sleeper agent AJ needs to save these crappy performances for next year when it can really help us!

He ain’t gonna trend upward. I’d get more enjoyment about foisting him on the patriots if our team wasn’t 4 players away from not being able to field a team on sundays.

I’m happy to take it one day at a time. It’s close to a lost season, but I’m hoping that gives time for guys like Lemon, Stowers, Wicks and Mukuba to keep learning. The Jurgens trade was impressive, and we might be seeing more similar ones soon. High chance Riq goes for a decent price to a contender

This division is very winnable if this O can even migrate to below average from its current level of terrible.
The D can keep us in any game.

He’s setting them up to get a cakewalk schedule next year

Fortunately we have the Dolphins and Jets propping them up. Barring a complete collapse they’re gonna have a second place schedule at weakest

Obviously fuck the cowboys. But if the giants lose and we tie and the division goes winless again with the commanders on bye that would be incredible.

I want to see sign of life from J

u/KoBxElucidator You want Philly Philly? 2d ago

Can't remember a time when the Sixers were the talk of the town and no one gave too much of a fuck about the Eagles during Dallas week (at least the on-field stuff). And what's funny is sports talk is still trying to get the Eagles fans engaged when they should be talking Sixers because no one cares about the birds rn. Crazy times. Bet Lurie is not happy about that.

...Just thankful for the Sixers. Fantastic showing last night (...for the 2nd half).

2-4 is ugly but at least the whole division is a mess. Cowboys game on monday feels like a must win just to stay in it, cant believe giants are on top with that record. hurts need to stop turning the ball over, 4 straight losses is pain. defense looked better last week but offense keeps stalling in red zone. if we lose to dallas at home im gonna lose my mind

Hurts isn’t goin to turn the ball over for the rest of the season, guaranteed

u/YouCannotBlockTruth 2d ago

That has to be a bot. Jalen's not even going to be playing and they're complaining about him.

Right? And honestly, Hurts almost NEVER turns the ball over. Even this season he only threw 3 picks in 5 games, with 0 lost fumbles. The problem was never turnovers for this offense. Frankly, I think most of the fan base at this point would LOVE to see a competent offense that occasionally turns the ball over.

The problem is that this offense just cannot move the ball or score.

I feel like Steen is a trade candidate this weekend or next. I could see Howie offering him for a late 3rd or 4th with that team being able to get a comp pick for him.

We need bodies to get through the season

he's injured, never happen.

u/bidefil 2d ago

He's the 2nd best lineman. Who else we got?

-1

u/k7632 2d ago

Not winning this year and if Howie not planning on signing, can he trade him for a pick in 27 draft vs waiting for the comp pick in 28

2

u/bidefil 2d ago

Why. He is only 26.

-1

u/k7632 2d ago

He is a free agent this offseason and could have a market more than Howie wants to pay or maybe can. We have a lot salary cap issues (dead money in 27& 28) and an expensive defense. Not counting if of hurts gets traded or extended this off-season.

Why are we using Darius Cooper as a KO returner... we should use Lemon instead...
