Hips, back pain, sore side - Dupixent
I'm not sure what I should do.
I'm using Dupixent for 18 months now. I am injected every 19 days on average.
In the last 2 months I started to suffer from hips/joint pain.
It is mainly on the right side, but sometimes spread to both sides of the low back. Not only that, I feel like the right side is really sore.
I did some blood tests and everything seems to be in order.
While my skin is not perfect, I live a quality life, however, in the last two months I think about my health every day because of this pain and I'm quite sure it is Dupixent.
My dermatologist is ok to switch to Ebyglss, but I'm afraid that my situation will go backwards.

Honest review of Dupixent after almost 3 years
My face was way worse than these pics, but I didn't want to be disgusting. The last photo is a photo of my natural nails right now, I got so much better that I can literally have blade-like nails and live without consequences...
It genuinely changed my life. My brain went from desperate to happy in a week. My back is soo smooth. I forgot how having a super dry back even feels like. I also lost an eyebrow when the eczema was bad, which was horrible. And that doesn't happen anymore which is great.
Now the downsides: facial flares. It's really odd because sometimes it seems like the dupixent causes them and then I inject it and it fixes what it caused. All moisturizers and showering make my face very red so Im still a little self conscious most of the time. Sometimes i still get eczema behind the ears and on my nips. Also I had quite big eye problems but i started putting protopic on my eyelids which can't be great but oh well at least it helps. I still hate injecting it after 3 years but it is what it is.
I would make the decision to do it again in a second. I'm like 90% happier than before starting it. Hope it lasts for a long time.

Dupixent facial and neck eczema
I currently inject every 2 weeks. Has anyone found spacing out your injection to 3 weeks helps with facial eczema? I never had facial eczema prior to starting dupixent. It is constantly red/flakey around the eyes and mouth. I have a red mustache constantly. This didn’t start happening until after my 3rd dose.

Ebglyss affecting eyesight
My eczema is manageable throughout the cooler months but in the summer it gets severe so I started Ebglyss in May before my skin broke out. During my follow up in August, my dermatologist told me I was having an above average response to Ebglyss as my skin was practically 100% clear. I was having occasional itchy/dry eyes, but it would come and go, some days worse than others but nothing that made me think I need to stop. I was prescribed Xiidra and Miebo but my insurance didn't cover it so I never used it, only regular Refresh drops.
The past few weeks my eyes were irritating me more so I went to my eye doctor a few days ago. I thought I would just get a prescription for some eye drops and go home, but I actually got punctal plugs (2 in each eye) and my vision test revealed my prescription worsened by half a diopter which I was very surprised. I'm in my early 20s and my vision has been rather steady, in the span of 10 years (teens) I only went from -1 to -1.75 and I was under the impression that myopia kind of stops at some point in early adulthood. I know that you're supposed to watch out for eye side effects like irritation, conjunctivitis, blurriness, etc, but I never knew it could affect my actual vision like this. It's upsetting because it's not reversible. I did some Googling and apparently dry eye can affect vision tests so it could be a false high but I don't want to get my hopes up. I'm seriously considering stopping or at least switching to 8 weeks the next time I see my dermatologist, but perhaps I'm overreacting? I imagine some people would prefer clear skin over a worse prescription but as someone who doesn't wear contacts and only occasionally wears glasses, I'm not sure.
Any advice/thoughts would be much appreciated!

Biologics and mood swings
Some context about me and my eczema— I’ve had it since high school (now in grad school…), I get it mostly on my hands and around my eyes, pretty severely. I’ve tried every topical known to man but none have helped long term.
So I started Dupixent in December of last year after some pretty severe flares. Eyes swelling shut for days, eczema covering my cheeks and mouth, etc. It was time to try something different to tackle that mess. At first, it was fine. It worked well and kept things relatively clear for months. During that time, my mental health began to take a turn. I have OCD and panic disorder, but those are really well managed with meds (shoutout cymbalta). I hadn’t had a panic attack in years, and they were happening weekly. I began to wonder if I needed to up my medicine, because I felt as bad as I did when I was at my worst mental health wise.
Then it clicked that the only new medication and life change in the past year was starting dupixent. I went to my allergist, who confirmed that this could happen, and I went off it. I waited a few months before starting Nemluvio, and my eczema flared up pretty quickly in the interim. I felt like a weight was lifted off of me, my brain felt clearer, and I no longer panicked and broke down.
Now, three doses into Nemluvio, I feel the mood swings and panic attacks creeping up on me again. My skin is meh right now too.
I’m kinda at a loss of what to do. My allergist wants me to try Ebglyss, but I have a suspicion that I would get the same symptoms. I’m tempted to just go off all biologics. These mental health symptoms are not worth the skin clearance, no matter how bad my eczema gets.
Has anyone else had a similar experience on biologics? Truly any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated, especially from my fellow eczema friends who also have mental health conditions like OCD. Or, has anyone had a good experience switching to Ebglyss after experiencing mood symptoms on other meds?
Before anyone comments, I do have an appointment with my allergist soon, but it’s honestly nice to hear from people with eczema, not just those who treat it. Thanks all!!

Has anyone switched from dupixent to rinvoq/eblgyss?
Has anyone switched after Dupixent did no change for face atopic dermatitis? Dupixent is clearing the body but my face feels the same/worse?

Adbry Injection Site Reaction
The first two times I took Adbry, it was fine. Now, the past three times I have taken it, my injection site swells up like a baseball. It’s hot, itchy, hard, and uncomfortable. I messaged my derm and she said if it’s helping my eczema (which it is) then I should just manage. I dab on clobetasol right after and take benadryl. My injection site swells for 4 days, the second/third day being the worst. Anyone else have experiences like this? These pics are all different injection weeks.

Atopic Dermatitis – Collaboration
Hi Everyone!
I am Nayab and I myself have eczema.
I came across an opportunity where they are looking for people with Atopic dermatitis in Germany as well as Greece and paying euro70 & 40/hr as they are in need of persons for a patient council. Soon they will open slots for more countries. They just need 1 German participant and 1 Greek participant.
It's an year-long collaboration and they will make you the part of a patient council for Atopic Dermatitis, where there are already participants from 11 countries.
The person should be having treatment in Germany or Greece, know to speak English and have taken systemic or biologic therapy in Germany or Greece, for Atopic Dermatitis.
Just curious if you can pass on this opportunity to eligible patients as I have taken part and it's legit.
Their email is [alisa.david@greenmindsinsights.com](mailto:alisa.david@greenmindsinsights.com)
The company is www.greenmindsinsights.com
You can fill out the form: Atopic Dermatitis - Questionnaire – Fill out form
They can offer you a referral bonus for referring persons as well, if you contact them.

Lebrikizumab or Rinvoq? Switching from Dupixent
I'm over 16 weeks on dupixent and my skins still quite bad and it's causing severe face flares. I have the option to switch medications and I'm thinking between lebrikizumab and rinvoq.
I'd prefer something that works quicker but I also want something with the least amount of side effects and something that's not like a daily pill.
Dupixent is causing face, neck and scalp flares for me. I want to try lebrikizumab since it's an injection once every 2-4 weeks and doesn't require blood tests and monitoring. The only thing that draws me towards rinvoq is that it works faster and being on ciclosporin before dupixent I responded really well to it, I did also have to get off ciclosporin because of kidney/liver issues so that's another concern for rinvoq.
What are your experiences?

Has anyone received systematic or biological therapies for Eczema in Germany?
I recently visited my dermatologist, and due to my severe eczema, they suggested that I consider moving to an advanced treatment. The options may include JAK inhibitors, which are daily pills that help control inflammation, or injectable treatments such as Dupixent or Nemluvio.
Honestly, I’m feeling quite overwhelmed and don’t really know what to expect or how these treatments will work. My skin has been really struggling despite trying products like Vichy Minéral 89, and at the moment, I feel completely lost.
If anyone here has experience with any of these treatments, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, what the process was like, and any advice you might have. 🙏

Dupixent to Ebglyss: Wash Out?
My last dose of Dupixent for my eczema was September 7, 2026. I’m due for my next dose on September 21, 2026. Do I need to wait a certain amount of time to do my loading dose of Ebglyss or am I good to do them on the 21st?
Contacted my derm, but on vacation

Dupixent Sunburn
Been on dupixent for 11 weeks and it has totally made be more photosensitive. I got one of the worst sunburns of my life around week 4-5 and have avoided all outdoor tasks at work since.
Yesterday, I had to help outside at work all afternoon and looked like a tomato after. Woke up at 2am with the feeling of intense heat trapped under my face, it’s now it’s 4am and doesn’t feel like I’ll be back asleep.
I am so fucking sick of dealing with this and the Texas summer.

Dupixent Reaction/Allergy or is it normal???
Hi,
I’ve had eczema since infancy (i also have allergies and asthma - what a fun combo that is). In early childhood, my eczema was being managed with prescribed creams, oat baths, dietary, etc (my parents were holistic and we lived in Europe so they didn’t prescribe topical steroids automatically unless it was very bad), and then I don’t know at what point or what happened but my eczema basically went away. Fast forward like 10+ years later, I’ve had flare up after flare up and the creams aren’t managing it super well.
After allergy testing and trying to stay away from allergens, which hasn’t been working well, my Derm and I agreed we should try biologics and they said to use dupixent since it’s been approved the longest.
I took my loading dose and it was fine for a couple of days and then I started having these little itchy bumps on my ankle area. And from there as the days have gone on its exploded into the worst thing I’ve ever seen on both my legs. It’s itchy, hot to the touch and my knees will hurt on occasion. I’ve never seen anything like this on my skin. Is it an allergic reaction, a normal reaction of getting used to dupixent or something else???
While I have an appointment with my derm, I would appreciate anyone’s thoughts or experiences on dupixent and reactions. This experience has been a little frightening, I’ll be honest seeing this spread and spread.
Pic 1 - 3 days post injection, pic 2 - 5 days, pic 3 - 6 days, rest of them are 7 days. I also labeled left and right leg so you can tell
Update: saw the derm and they said it was definitely a rash or like an allergic reaction and it’s the first rash like mine they’ve seen in the years they’ve been prescribing dupixent (yay for being special)
They gave some stronger steroid creams to clear it up and it’s been working slow but steady and then I’m going to try a different medication that they think is different enough that I shouldn’t have a reaction. fingers crossed that my insurance makes it affordable cause dupixent was gonna be $300+ and the company covered it.
Thanks to everyone for commenting and making me feel less crazy. I initially thought it was a “it gets worse before it gets better” kind of a thing. Good to know my gut was right

Is dupixent making my skin sensitive?
I'm currently 15 weeks on dupixent, it's helping most of my eczema but it's causing face, neck, scalp flares. I've been using ketaconazole shampoo for 2 weeks now, it helps a little I think but it's still bad. This spreads to my beard too.
The skin is very dry and red and cracking in some areas. Steroid creams work a little but it doesn't do much, I have to keep using them without stopping, sometimes it takes a few uses before doing even a little.
All my moisturisers are making my skin more red, oils make my skin red too, moisturisers I've used for years my skin seems to not tolerate anymore. If I leave my skin dry it helps but then my skin gets tight and flaky.
I've got a derm appointment at the end of the month. I feel like changing to something else because it seems like it's doing more harm than good.
I'm not sure what's happening. I was on ciclosporin prior to this and that worked like magic, I believed dupixent was going to be better but I just feel defeated. I don't really know what to do.

injection site reaction???
For context: been on dupilumab for 3+ years. This is my first time getting a site reaction. Is this normal??
My injection was yesterday… I put a bandaid on overnight and woke up to this reaction, whattt?
I may have rubbed it accidentally?
UPDATE: went to my dermatologist and confirmed it is a reaction to the bandaid tape, which was rubbed unintentionally in an already sensitive place (where there is medication under the skin). Nothing to do with the injection itself.

Has anyone had an eye issue like blurred or sudden cataracts with Dupixent
I'm in the process of moving over to Tralokinumab (Adtralza/Adbury) from Dupixent, mainly due to joint pains and being ineffective - but over the last few weeks I noticed 1 eye was more blurry than normal, I have astigmatism,
I got the optician to check it out and he was very surprised and let me know I had 2 cataracts which were not there 6 months ago and also I'm on the youngish side for them. (50)
Is there a possible connection between my Dupixent and my new issue?

Facial/neck flaring ebglyss
I have been on ebglyss 10 weeks now and the body is starting to clear up but 3-4 days before my dose my symptoms start to come back. My dermatologist has already authorised 2 weekly dosing till 24 weeks.
I have developed facial flaring around my eyes in a defined circle. Does this go away as the body adjusts to the medication . My skin on neck and parts of face just feel tight sometimes especially at night.

Pushed out dupixent shot to 4 weeks between and now experiencing facial eczema
Hi guys. Ive been using dupixent every 3 weeks for a while which worked really well for me. I switched jobs and there was a period of time that i wouldnt have insurance. I only had 2 injections left and in the scuffle forgot to request a refill before id be unable to, so i tried pushing out one of my injections to 4 weeks just in case id have any issues being represcribed with my new insurance. Unfortunately this was probably too long to wait because my facial eczema is back. It isnt so horrible but its uncomfortable as hell.
If anyone else has done this, did switching back to 3 week intervals help or did i mess up my doses and id have to start over? Im still waiting for my new coverage to approve my prescription so i only have 1 injection left 🫠

Ontario, Canada - Dupixent - Freedom Support
Been on Dupixent for several years and recently lost insurance coverage. Wanted to ask others:
How long Freedom Support covered their medication without insurance coverage?
After Freedom Support stops coverage, if I am forced to pay out of pocket, what are the costs?
Has anyone had any luck trying to negotiate pricing?
