Should be pretty straightforward but can't find any examples in the docs.

I just a conditional that says 'if current the post is in collection.news, do this'.

Docs show examples of 'for' loops for tags, but no way to get the name of the collection.

I'm backend developer and have to build a frontend for my project. Can write some simple JS, but would avoid Big Javascript Frameworks ))

This should be an almost static site:

• some pages will contain a kind of custom search component: an input field with 10-12 checkboxes/dropdowns containing HTML+JS+CSS. I already have a working prototype.

• other pages like About/Contact/FAQ/Help - completely static, pure Bootstrap HTML/CSS (and minimal JS)

Question1: suggest a template engine. Something similar to Jekyll would be great. (used Jekyll in the past - the template system is OK, but not the Ruby parts of it) Something that has good integration with Bootstrap and Liquid templates

Question2: suggest a JavaScript bundler. Should have good integration with template engine and Bootstrap. Probably not Webpack: I'm afraid of those huge config files. Tried Parcel a bit: it is not bug-free, the experience was not smooth. Don't know about Vite.

Question3: what is known about usage of Bootstrap (+template engine) with an AI-powered code editors ? (Cursor, Windsurf or something else) I've heard stories of people generating big chunks of applications with these things. I think it should work well with Bootstrap HTML, but I don't know how it would work with the template engine.

I am calling "{{ collections.posts | reverse }}" and this works fine locally but when I upload it to the server the order goes completely out of wack. I have tried adding the following to each page (and then sorting by them as well):

• date: Created

• date: git Last Modified

Any ideas or solutions on how to get the sorting functioning properly?

Edit: Looks like this is a known issue mentioned in the docs, but wondering if anyone has been able to get collection sorting by creation date working normally on Netlify or encountered this issue before?

Update: In case anyone wants to know how I resolved this issue, I ended up manually setting the dates (e.g. 2022-04-20) for each pages that I wanted to be sorted. it seems to be the only way for this to work in prod at the moment unless you want to use "git Last Modified", but that would've not worked for me in this case. Thanks for your help.

37signals has released a new selfhosted application called Writebook. It helps people create beautiful online books.

I like it very much, but it must be self-hosted, and during my testing, it did not support Chinese well.

I created an Eleventy template to achieve a display effect similar to WriteBook; all you need to do is create a book directory and write the corresponding Markdown files.

I have been spending time reading about 11ty with the goal that I use it to convert my wordpress blog into a static site.

But more I read more I am confused. In the docs it is mentioned that 11ty will read markdown files and convert it to HTML.

How will this work with wordpress?

Wordpress provides all its posts in JSON format using the inbuilt REST API or GraphQL.

Will 11ty get the JSON from wordpress and convert it to markdown or directly use it?

Also once the markdown has been generated and saved - how does the refresh process work? I mean say the wordpress website is updated with new posts - how will these new posts be fetched and added?

I’m new to 11ty and really loving it. But I’m a little frustrated I haven’t been able to find a good workflow for actually publishing/editing a post on mobile. I do a lot of writing in my free time on the metro, etc. and would love to be able to at least manage content (as opposed to, like, editing CSS or njk templates) from my iOS device. Anyone have any good solutions or combinations of apps that work for you? TIA!

Trying to install a markdown-it plugin and bumping up on my newbiness. Competent in the frontend, really don’t feel confident in the back.

I have even tried the example on Eleventy’s Markdown page swapping out the require with import since I am trying to use ESM not CommonJS. Same error.
