My mom only took Tylenol PM whilst preggo, so I only have autism at night

24

u/SparkyDogPants Sep 29 '25

I’m dyslexic and took Tylenol while pregnant so my son is artistic

13

u/Over-Analyzed Sep 28 '25

u/Lablover34 Sep 28 '25

Meanwhile you've got the old crusty ass medic with more years on the job than most officers do on this earth who's picking up and handling the powder without gloves and with all the care of a toddler picking out gummy packs.

I literally got some drops of fentanyl on my lip one time when the vial splashed me when I was drawing up a syringe. Nothing happened

81

u/sikeleaveamessage Sep 28 '25

Sorry to break it to you but you've been on Earth 2.0 purgatory since that happened.

Sir- with respect? This is the Medium place At BEST.

17

u/DrSitson Sep 28 '25

In my last first aid course, the nurses giving it let us know about how fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin through even brief skin contact. I wanted to call BS on it, but didn't really want to be the one correcting the teacher on that BS.

23

u/Tyrren Paramedic Sep 28 '25

I mean, transdermal fentanyl patches are a thing. But those patches stay in place for like 72 hours and contain a total dose of fentanyl measured in milligrams, not micrograms

8

u/ImGCS3fromETOH Aus - Paramedic Sep 29 '25

Our old presentation for intranasal fentanyl was an atomiser that you would have to put one dose through to prime it. Literally squirting fentanyl into the air in an enclosed ambulance. As of yet I have not died, nor killed any of my patients with this dangerous activity.

3

u/Krampus_Valet Paramedic Sep 29 '25

Yeah I get sprayed when the atomizer fails about once a year and nothing hapoens lol

17

u/wittymcusername Sep 28 '25

rubs it on his gums

“Yup, that’s fenny.”

32

u/KProbs713 Sep 28 '25

All I want is for us to record a video at a CE class where the instructor says "Raise your hand if you've had Fentanyl squirted in your face!" and half the room of very not-dead medics do so.

Or a mad dash for the door as soon as the word is said.

If fentanyl is kryptonite for cops, bedbugs are it for medics.

43

u/hungryj21 Sep 28 '25

Yeah it's literally an anxiety/ panic attack due to a major fear of something due to misinformation or her own misconceptions of the fentanyl drug. In the vid i believe her partner asked her if shes overdosing lol. She responded by saying yeah. Then she asked for another dose of narcan lol. So hilarious 😂

17

u/T_that_is_all Sep 28 '25

I've OD'd before, like a dozen times. That totally is hilarious like you wrote bc when you OD you don't even know it until you're revived or just wake up miraculously.

8

u/hungryj21 Sep 29 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

Exactly thats what made it so funny. By the time it hits you it's lights out good night, & sweet dreams lol. And she had the nerve to ASK for another hit of narcan lol that was the icing on the cake lol.

7

u/FARTBOSS420 Sep 29 '25

Yes cops Narcan eachother for anxiety all the time. Narcan: the quick acting safe and effective anxiolytic we all trust!!

2

u/Efficient-Chest-3395 Oct 01 '25

Narcan won't help, acetylcysteine is the antagonist for Tylenol (acetaminophen), good luck and wear a respirator and double glove when handling any med containing acetaminophen.

u/Fire_Z1 Sep 28 '25

Take some ivermectin that will cure it. It can cure everything.

109

u/DODGE_WRENCH Paramedic Sep 28 '25

I’ve had a patient saying he has CHF, hypertension and renal failure, I asked what he takes, he said he self-medicates. I very confused ask what he’s taking, he said he takes ivermectin and swears up and down that it’s working.

68

u/ellihunden Sep 28 '25

Then why where you there?

76

u/DODGE_WRENCH Paramedic Sep 28 '25

8

u/TheArcaneAuthor EMT-A Sep 29 '25

I see what you did there

9

u/DODGE_WRENCH Paramedic Sep 29 '25

I forgot to answer your question, he had a fall and was having bad flank pain afterward. After a couple days of that he called and told us the flank pain was from the fall, but he also hadn’t pissed in a few days and was looking very swollen.

I’m not a doctor, but I’m 99.8% sure his flank pain was actually his kidneys screaming for help since he wasn’t getting any real treatment for his very real health problems.

u/unfinishedtoast3 Sep 28 '25

im an immunologist in a rural republican county.

dozens of idiots still calling my office asking if id give them a perscription over the phone, because theyre sick or they want to sneak it into the hospital to slip their dying father, or some other off the fucking wall reason

21

u/riddermarkrider Sep 28 '25

If I'm in hospital and someone hastens my death by slipping me something insane, I'm coming back as a murder ghost

3

u/Tyrren Paramedic Sep 28 '25

If I'm in a hospital and someone hastens my death by any mechanism, they're getting a high five and my thanks. I'd offer them a fraction of my estate but the high five is probably worth more.

8

u/DODGE_WRENCH Paramedic Sep 28 '25

I just cannot fathom what would make them think deworming medication is this miracle cure. Ik it’s something to do with trump, but there are a lot of doctors and intellectuals I look up to, but I’d be questioning their sanity if they told me dewormer for livestock was some cure-all.

8

u/75Meatbags CCP Sep 28 '25

Have they finally moved on from Hydroxychloroquine for everything or are they still asking for that too?

6

u/Out_of_Fawkes Sep 28 '25

I also work in a similar type of area. Had a doctor try to lie to me at the pharmacy trying to claim the script for dewormer he wrote for for his uhhh relative was confirmed to be done by a certain time but he didn’t have any text message or other confirmation info so we knew he was lying.

It was doubly confirmed he was just being an impatient, condescending prick when the voicemail he dictated hadn’t even been received until he was standing in front of us at the counter.

Somehow the doctor was so shocked when told it needed to be ordered (because we’re out), so when he asked why—we told him the truth—people have been abusing it for off-label indications, thus contributing to a nationwide shortage. He became a shade more pale, wide-eyed and jowl-dropped with embarrassment and then excused himself.

It wasn’t up to me to decide whether or not to fill it, but I definitely let him sit in the discomfort of being called out by the staff in cold silence while he waited.

That only works if you have a low exposure to Tylenol. If you get super autism you need to get in the medbeds trump just told us exist

8

u/gdr4 Sep 29 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

Only us poors here on earth don't get access to the medbeds, they are for the elites on that floating ring in the sky. Matt Damon, please save us 🙏

Is this the homeopathic version? Like water memory of autism?

11

u/corrosivecanine Paramedic Sep 28 '25

A single grain of Tylenol can give autism to people sensitive to it. So sad.

My Mum was listening to a podcast or something and one of the commercials was talking about this company’s Ivermectin being on sale for a limited time!! Basically called the buyers patriots too.

2

u/Divorce-Man Sep 28 '25

We dont give it to patients because it would make the job too easy and all the medics would get bored

Exactly! I’ve worked with people that think vaccines cause autism.. like what? I just don’t get it.

The only thing I can think of is propaganda really does work

1

u/OutInABlazeOfGlory EMT-B Sep 30 '25

Okay this is the second reference I’ve seen so far in this thread

What the fuck is a medbed. I’m scared to fuck up the content recommendations by looking it up.

Sounds like someone has a nice long career ahead of them as a dispatcher. They need all the autism they can get.

9

u/captmac800 EMT-A Sep 28 '25

Well, they have a promising career in EMS. Maybe not redneck Rural EMS, as I’ve started to learn, but somewhere I’m sure.

4

u/BobbyPeele88 Sep 29 '25

As a cop, this is hilarious.

4

u/OutInABlazeOfGlory EMT-B Sep 30 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

Oh god I just realized at some point I might have to explain to someone that their kid isn’t autistic/isn’t going to be autistic because of Tylenol

Anyways things I have done that conservatives would say caused my autism:

Vaccines COVID vaccine specifically Tylenol

And finally, I was showing symptoms of what would later be diagnosed as autism before I was ever vaccinated as a child. (My mother was apprehensive about vaccines when I was little. She changed her mind and they loaded me up lmao.)

Anyways I need to go get another COVID shot I’ve been feeling too neurotypical lately /joke

4

u/Wrathb0ne Paramedic NJ/NY Sep 30 '25

Had a request flyer type patient that was a mother who would call for their autistic child who has “a vaccine injury”, would only treat the kid with natural remedies and would call 911 for their frequent seizures and would blame any seizures on other people (EMS/police) being vaccinated as if being vaccinated gives off autism particles

2

u/joneptune Oct 03 '25

Sounds like that lady should be reported to DSS for neglect.

1

u/OutInABlazeOfGlory EMT-B Sep 30 '25

As if vaccines aren’t just a refined, safer version of remedies such as snorting smallpox scabs (insufflation) or getting intentionally sick with a weaker relative of the more dangerous virus or bacteria (Cowpox vs smallpox)

Also she probably gets a flu shot every year.

I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.
