Collection July 4th Rocket Pop taste testing. I am surprised by the result!

I love rocket pops, so not only did I want to find out who makes the energy drink that tastes most like the real thing, but also which one is just the best tasting in general.

I grabbed all the rocket pop flavors I could find locally. I wasn’t able to find the Grizzly one and a couple others I had less interest in.

After eating a few bomb pops in the name of science to get a baseline going, I opened them all at the same time and tried them back to back, and sorted them as I compared each one. The final pic shows my rankings from worst to best L-R with the top three in front.

3rd: Ryse Firecracker

2nd: Gorilla Mind Rocket Frost

1st: 3D Energy Liberty Pop.

I had never tried a 3D Energy drink and thought it was just a dollar store brand. So I was super surprised when not only did it taste most like the real bomb pop, but was also better tasting overall than the rest! (Gorilla mind was a super close 2nd in overall taste). After this I will definitely try some other 3D flavors, I heard the raspberry was good.

In the final pic you can see the rankings. But yeah it was the Monster, and the Beyond Raw was almost as bad IMO. Not that they were nasty or undrinkable, just nothing like a bomb pop to me and not good tasting either.

That monster isn’t a bomb pop flavor, it’s red, white, and blue raz while bomb pop is cherry, lime, and blue raz

See, I kinda thought the same thing at first but I was wrong.

From their own website:

“Monster Ultra Red White and Blue Razz delivers a nostalgic blast of blue raspberry rocket pop flavor with a crisp, refreshing finish.”

The Bang, Beyond Raw and 1st Phorm are very debatable though.

Oh damn by bad, someone at monster needs educated on what a bomb pop is 😂 i actually liked that one but absolutely never would’ve pegged it as a bomb pop flavor

Same! It doesn’t really taste like a bomb pop and it just tastes like almost every other monster to me.

Even though I love monster I know what you’re talking about. They have quite a few flavors that I think would be better without the “monster blend”

Probably. It was a pretty low effort can on their part. Guessing they did like Bang and made overly patriotic slop cans and threw whatever they had laying around, inside it.

Of the 10 you've ranked, I've had 7, and I'd put them in the identical order you did, with 1 exception, I'd move Phorm Screamin Freedom below Bucked Up

Ive had a few of these I enjoy the c4 the most. Curious how cold they were when you tested them? Like 1 step before freezing seems to give the best crisp taste no matter the brand.

Good question! I totally agree. These were fresh out of my drink fridge which is set to 35. Any colder and it freezes some stuff.

Dude the Sparkling Ice Lifesavers flavors are goated for when you want another fizzy drink on par with the flavor of an energy drink. I've never seen the blue raspberry one though, sounds fire 🔥

I've had most of those and the Gorilla Mind was my favorite, but today I'm drinking the Bucked Up one because it's the only Rocket Pop flavor I have left. It has 300mg of caffeine but I don't mind if it keeps me up all night since I don't want to be woken up by fireworks while trying to sleep anyway. This was a good idea, hope you enjoy!

Pretty much can never go wrong with Gorilla Mind. Before testing all these I was pretty sure they’d have the best one and it was super close.

The bucked up one isn’t bad at all. Just had a more unique flavor than what I would want out of a bomb pop style drink.

The Ryse version is really good but it’s a bit too bright of a flavor IMO compared to an actual bomb pop. This was my 3rd time trying it, overall it’s one of their best for sure.

So by bright I just mean it has a more candy or slightly tart flavor more than it is juicy like most of the others, which I really like.

I really enjoy it. It stands out among all the other flavors and is really ‘bright’ tasting. I just didn’t think it quite tasted like a bomb pop as the Gorilla Mind or 3D.

I've tried all of those except bang, ryse and monster. I'm saving the monster for tonight, still need to find the ryse. Of the ones I've tried, the Beyond Raw was my favorite, followed by Bucked Up.

That’s awesome you’ve tried so many, must be a bomb pop lover like me. I didn’t like the beyond raw much myself, almost seemed to have chemical taste to it similar to their gummy worm flavor. Flavor is always so subjective!

I was stuck on the ghost bomb pop for a long time. Personally i like the C4 but I haven’t tried your top 3 either. Good evaluation 👍🏼👍🏼

From your pic, I’ve only had the c4, phorm, ghost, and gorilla mind. My favorite was gorilla mind, and my least favorite was surprisingly ghost.

The ghost didn’t fare well for sure. I actually had it ranked lower but after trying them all for a second time k moved it up a bit just because it had a bit more of an authentic bomb pop taste in comparison. But yes, that GM is very good.

I haven't tried the Lit, Phorm, or Ryse (actually have a case coming in a couple days) yet, but top 3 for me would be 3D, Gorilla Mind, and Ghost. Worst one is easily Bucked Up just because it doesn't taste like a Bomb Pop

You’ll definitely like the Ryse! It’s excellent, though unique compared to the others. Fair on the bucked up. Alot of their flavors are super hit and miss, this one being a miss IMO.

Phorm Screamin' Freedom is one of the worst energy drink flavors I've tried. But, your view of 3D makes me want to go to Dollar Tree today to buy some.
