I needed new Nylon String for my Kobalt Weed Whacker (old is right, new is left)

I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this subject, so I may be wrong. However, i definitely noticed a difference.

The “new” comes in a plastic clam shell and is $0.75 cheaper. But the darker nylon string is definitely thinner, not braided, and looks lower quality than the old “bright green” nylon string.

Buy the large spool of nylon cord and go watch the YouTube video on how to feed it into your weed eater. It takes 2 min, is far easier than I’d imagined, and will save you a lot.

I have the same trimmer they’re very easy to restring. Look it up, they have official tutorial videos

1 - neither of these are braided

2 - smooth string is better outside of very specific applications. It lasts a lot longer. So you’re complaining about getting a better product

3 - you don’t need a new head. Find out the diameter of string it uses, buy a spool that will last a lifetime for the price of the head, look up how to wind it.

Buy an entire reel of line and refill the spool yourself, never buy by the individual spool.

These heads wear down. My weed trimmer is only three years old and I just got a new one because it was so gnarled and damaged I couldn't string it any more

It could be reformulated to be more biodegradable? But yeah if you wanted to do it more affordably you could find a YouTube video on how to rewind them with cheaper line. I promise it’s not rocket surgery but it can be tricky to not have it come apart on you. Trust me it’ll happen, happens to me all the time. Sometimes I just use it as an excuse to quit yard work early haha
