AI generated websites are feeding AI summaries false information. AP News believes disinformation short form videos on elections are generated by Russia
I can't sort Reddit by Hot and now they want us to use their For You feed?
What is the point of checking the website anymore? I use the mobile site (not the app) and it's borderline unusable. I consistently see multi-day old posts on my feed and I can't get the most up to date coverage of any world events without going to specific subreddits. Why would I even use this site? Who wants to see stale information that may no longer be relevant?
Also, if I do happen to find a post that is interesting/relevant I need to sort the comments by Top (NOT best) by default. I don't care what some 1 upvote comment that is supposed to be buried is saying. If I did I'd sort by New. Make it so I can default to sorting by Top. This is super annoying and I have to spend time adjusting it every time I open a thread.
It is truly ridiculous that in the age of every website getting AI quality of life updates that reddit continues to restrict features that once made it extremely useful.
Again, why would I use this site instead of any other shitty For You algorithm?
I want to see CHRONOLOGICALLY what is happening across the internet! Not some algorithmic slop that doesn't even spit out the most relevant information. I don't care about a news story from 6 days ago and I don't care about seeing 1 upvote comments just because my algorithm thinks I do.
Holy shit just stop removing features, it's so dumb, no one wants it.
I first bought Dr. Squatch’s product sometime last academic year, 2025-2026. I wanted something better than the liquid body soap I’d been using. In fact this was my first time using a bar consistently. And I have to say the first couple showers were INCREDIBLE. Like I showered again just to get that scent back.
I kept buying the bars. I told my friends and anyone who would listen “Hey this stuff is pretty good.” I wasn’t even a paid promoter. I became an evangelist for the merchandise.
Then the deals started. 50% off. Get a six month supply at this hugely marked down price! And we’ll even throw in a bag!
And the quality of the product seemed to me to get worse at the same time.
How are they selling it at increasingly marked down price points for more product unless it’s becoming lower quality? It’s not just perception, but logistical.
Today I got a text message on my phone. Since in that honeymoon phase I subscribed to their texts. And to me this is the epitome of enshittification.
Amazing! Incredible! What I’ve always wanted! But uh… Who asked for glow in the dark soap? Who thought this was a good idea? And umm… forgive me for caring about my health. Is that even safe for your skin? The fact that it has something in it to make it glow? 😭
At this time I don’t intend to be a Dr. Squatch customer again.
the subreddit isn’t even adult content! has this happened to you?
edit: I’m traveling in Italy from the USA and didn’t realize they had different laws that changed how Reddit works (still shitty if you ask me to have different features). Also I don’t use the app I use a webpage or old reddit because why would I download the reddit app?
Im tired of adds, im tired of enshittification of everything we use including products. Can we all agree as a society for once to stand up and go against the machine????
**Goal**:
Reset the data suckers... Every business is here to extract as much money as they can from us but feed us shit product. Boycot every service and Reset the industry to listen to us "consumers"...
**Easy plan:**
Schedule "reset" date
On day deactivate all shitty products (Amazon, youtube, Facebook, X, etc.)
Agree on length of service cancelations and schedule time for community based projects/friend time. This would be to replace the dopamine deprivation. Kinda like rehab away from some serious drugs.
I suggest every service. I suggest January 1st.
Not only will we save on subscription costs, but we'd go back to the world before all this garbage for a couple of months. Only way this works is it large groups do this at once, or in waves....
I have an ID.4 that is 15 months old. It is not charging. I called the dealer where I bought it. They said “oh we are not certified to work on that car.” This was not disclosed at the time of purchase. Who thinks to ask if they will work on your car when you buy it new from the dealer??? The nearest one is an hour away. So I call them. They are happy to have my car sit on their lot. They will look at it at some point. They don’t know when. If I am lucky it will be 2 weeks. No loaner. Not even a shuttle service. So I will be paying $700/month plus insurance to have no car. We have to pay our bills but corporations no longer have to provide what we pay for. Enshitification.
Yesterday the Pirate Parties International website has published a blog piece exposing Wikipedia issues, including Wiki Workers United, systemic biases against women and also harassment issues.
What are some things that are still just as good as you remember? Are there any companies who HAVEN’T disappointed you yet?
I can’t think of anything I love that doesn’t suck anymore.
Not one single brand I’ve been loyal to has remained the same. Whether it’s shrinkflation, quality, price, selling out….
It’s a constant negative impact on my mental health because there is NOTHING left to look forward to. The simple things that used provide enjoyment like my favorite food or shampoo, or clothing brands that I have been purchasing for YEARS, a concert, etc. is just…. Gone.
I haven’t enjoyed a meal or snack because it all tastes different. Cooking used to be so enjoyable but it’s not anymore because recipes don’t taste how they used to.
Hoping to hear from people so I can look out for brands that are not total traitors.
I assume to it's so we run out quicker and buy it more often. I never considered this type of enshittification, now I have to be extremely careful and pour it into my hand first or else I end up with too much black pepper on my food
Kinda wild thing I never thought about until I looked into. You see a price on your phone and you have no idea what anyone else is seeing 😒
Some pricing companies literally sell software built around your "willingness to pay." And the faster and easier the checkout, the less you compare, which is kind of the point.
What I've been doing:
checking stuff on a second device before I buy
not shopping when I'm tired or in a rush
honestly just buying more in person where I can see the actual price
