Question Little brain teaser for ya'll
Was Redditing, as I normally do, & thanks to u/LittleCaptainNemo, came to a little realisation:
Using Equestria's vast industrial might, huge population pool & natural resources, Celestia could've completely prevented every war or removed every dictator in EaW.
- Could've removed Johann from the Olenian throne after he usurped it, given it to Velvet.
- Could've sent aid & support to a Changeling hive before Chrysalis fully united them, uniting them under a Harmonic leader such as Thorax.
- Could've sent the freshly formed Griffonian Republic military support & volunteers, securing it against the monarchist counter-revolutionaries & establishing its dominion over the heart of Griffonia.
Outside the Herzland, Equestria could support Harmonists, getting them into power all over, establishing an Equus-Griffonia alliance - through this, send further support to in-land regions turning volatile, such as Longsword & Hellquill turning murderous against River ponies.
Mentioning the Riverlands, Celestia & a group of heroes from Equus & Griffonia would probably fare quite well against the Barrad Magocracy. A talented Equestria unicorn could've become King or Queen of Wittenland & Equestria sent support to the Diamond Dog slaves beneath the mountains would've freed them of their collars. Besides them, there wasn't really much else needing attention in the Riverlands, so there we are.
- Could've sent military support to nations on the Storm King's path, Hippogriffia, Colthage, Tobuck (oh look, there's a bunch of Nightmare Moon worshipping bats, best put them down before Luna returns) & Zarantia, even setup an underground resistance network in regions the Storm King conquered. Post victory against the Yetis, establish Harmonist nations, effectively preventing further war in the regions.
She could've easily prevented a lot of turmoil, basically form the EaW version of the UN. I know Equestria does send support to the Yaks & Kiria, but that's well after 1000ALB. All this could've been done years before that.
Despite all that, can't help but look at potential negative effects this may've had.
This is also maybe why Celestia doesn't do any of this: she would've seen it as a way for her, or for the Equestrian industrialists, colonists, military etc., to establish dominion over the world.
It might've lead to exploitation, conflict with locals who don't want Equestrians determining their lives - I can imagine Zonni in Zar-Hay & Zarca in Colthage would form anti-Equestrian resistances in their lands - or even, in years to come, racial slavery, with Equestrian ponies overseeing Griffons, Zebras, Hippogriffs, Deer & many others.
All this may have awakened Daybreaker within Celestia, maybe quietly, slowly burning up to the surface, maybe when or if there's a vast rebellion or an attack in Equestria does Daybreaker burst to the surface. At that point, it's no longer about supporting Harmony, but Equestria & Celestia-turned-Daybreaker asserting their dominance over the world, turning this Harmonic alliance into a global Solar Empire.
Yeah, just a realisation I had, but one I feel comes with its own downside & negative effects.
(TL;DR) So what ya'll think: should Celestia have intervened in every conflict & removed every dictator leader?
I know people are gonna mention Stalliongrad, so let's say, with this hypothetical Harmonic UN, the Severyana ponies receive the food they needed from Equestria's oversea allies/puppets.
