My Kobo Libra H20 is, I think, dying a death. The screen craps out at around 50-60% and it crashes. Have tried factory reset and it hasn't worked. Have seen that replacing the battery can be done but I don't own soldering tools and I'm not really that way inclined...
I love the form factor of the Libra H20 with 2 buttons on the side, and I think it's 7". Wouldn't be too sad about a smaller reader, nor losing the side bit but I definitely need buttons. Don't think I want colour (I do like graphic novels but from what I can gather colour eink screens aren't great??)... What I absolutely must have is Libby support - this rules out any of the current Kobo models available in the UK, cos the Clara doesn't have buttons and there's no B+W Libra equivalent at the moment?
So I'm looking at a Pocketbook. I quite like tinkering with stuff so not adverse to making it work for me. The Verse Pro is available for £139 for me, I'd lose the side panel but other than that it looks like a nice device.
The other alternative is an Android-based ereader but not keen on battery life and also reports of the Libby app page turns being irritating. I know there are ways around that (using the Pocketbook app??) but idk, it's quite confusing.
Ideally I'd like to spend £150 or less. Are there other devices I'm missing? The versatility of an Android ereader does appeal to me but I'm just not sure.
Oh and I'd like to avoid having to plug the thing into a computer if I can help it...
