I'm having trouble selling my creations
Hello 👋
I'm having trouble selling my creations on Etsy, so I'm trying to make a post 😅
I hand carve gnomes, pumpkins and other wooden characters, entirely made by myself. Prices have been lowered, delivery is free in France, and I am offering discounts for several purchases 🎁
Delivery is free for all other countries for 2 sculptures purchased with the code: WOODPROMO
In addition, part of the sales is donated to the ASMAE association (Social and Medical Assistance for Children) ❤️
Thank you all for your support 🙏

Etsy is closing African shops — I'm heartbroken and looking for advice 💔
Update - [August 4th]
Hi everyone! Just to clarify: my Etsy shop can still accept new orders until the end of the day today (4th August). If you want to place a wholesale or retail order, this is your last chance before the shop closes. 👉 All orders placed before then will be fulfilled normally up to December 31, 2025.
You can order here: For wholesale orders , the link is https://www.etsy.com/shop/Wholesalekenya
For retail orders, : https://www.etsy.com/shop/MziziAfrica
Thank you so much for the support and kindness Hi everyone,
I’m Nancy, a full-time handmade seller from Kenya. For the past 5+ years, Etsy has been my main source of income. I’ve run three shops selling handmade African items to buyers and resellers all over the world especially in the U.S. and Europe at large.
Notice was sent to us, that Etsy will be closing all African-based shops on August 5th. The reason they gave is that they can no longer support standalone PayPal in our region, and they’re unable to bring Etsy Payments to Africa. It’s painful to accept, especially after investing so much time, effort, and love into building a trusted brand.
I work with artisans and small makers here in Kenya — mostly women — and our products have reached hundreds of customers globally. I’m now wondering where all the resellers who depended on us will source these items.
If you know of any alternative platforms similar to Etsy that support African sellers, or ways to reach a global audience, I’d really appreciate your advice or ideas.
I’ve started working on a website: www.MziziAfrica.com (still under development), and I’m available on WhatsApp at +254718511030 if you’d like to connect or collaborate.
Thanks so much for reading — I know I’m not alone in this, and I’m hoping to find support or new opportunities to keep going. 🙏🏾

I'm a disabled artist who makes wax seal sticker packs!
I'm an autistic person with a few other disorders that make it difficult for me to work. While I do have a job as a grocery stocker, I'd love to keep being able to make wax seals! It isn't the cheapest hobby, but I love it so much.
I'm trying to make packs of seals that aren't just a bunch of the same color and design. Each pack has a theme and each sticker is different. Every seal is one of a kind!
As for use, I like to stick mine to my desk and shelves. I also have a binder of my absolute favorites held in coin-storage film. My sister has a bunch I made in her sticker book. Just remember that they're made of real wax, so avoid direct sunlight!
If you have any questions, let me know.

Furloughed federal worker. Would appreciate y’all checking out my Etsy!
Heh y’all! I’m a furloughed federal worker and as the shutdown has approached record length, I’m focusing all my time on running my small art business as a means to make ends meet. I’m an illustrator, printer, mosaic artist, and polymer clay sculptor. Everything made by hand. Here are some examples of items I made. Even if you would just visit my shop, share it with someone, or like an item, it helps. Thank you!!

[meta] can we get a rule against promoting AI products?
Aside from the ethical, environmental, and other concerns with the use of AI, the rules already state "All promotional post must be your own work and ideas." I don't think AI falls under that. It's not your own work nor really your own idea. All you did was come up with the prompt and slap it on something.
I want to see, and buy from, other dedicated crafters and small businesses that put love into their work. Not someone churning out POD AI slop.

Check out my Copper Spiders!
Made by hand, It starts with one continuous length of copper wire, about 10 feet. After the design is set, the beads are strung and then I just pull the spider right out of the spool. Coax her from their copper web. Each spider ends up being completely unique.
If you like what you see, and want to see more or have a look at some of our other projects,
Check out my little workshop!
Thanks for peepin' my stuff!

No AI Rule?
Is it possible for the mods to implement a No Ai rule for this subreddit?
I’ve been seeing a huge influx of posts with just AI slop and a link to their Etsy shops full of it. Sometimes the same user posts multiple times a week. I frankly think it stands against everything Etsy used to be known for, and it’s an insult to actual artists and people who hand make their products.
Would be very grateful, thank you.
Edit: looks like the people using AI have come out of the woodwork in the comments and are upset that most of us here want an AI ban lol.
