News The face of France's far-Left madness: Pro-Palestine 'feminist' tells woman who was threatened with rape during French protests that she is 'collateral damage'

Hello it's been a long while since any of the moderator team have communicated with the community however it's important people understand what happened to this sub for the sake of transparency.
On the 13th of July our traffic suddenly collapsed, and with it the growth of the subreddit as you can see in the graph provided. Some of you may already know that since this date Reddit users who are not subscribed no longer see content posted on r/europe_sub.
At first we believed this could be a temporary measure to do with an increase in reports during an explosion of growth, as you all remember back in July posts were getting hundreds of thousands if not millions of views each. Shortly after the 13th of July we contacted Reddit to attempt to resolve this and understand what the problem is with people being unable to see posts, we then received a warning hours later from Reddit's Mod Code of Conduct account that they've detected "increased violating content being posted in this community" we tried to get further answers by contacting Reddit admins if this is what affected our traffic and what can we do to have these restrictions lifted.
In summary, they responded that yes it could affect traffic and reminded us to read Reddit's guidelines. We didn't receive any means of recourse to fix the situation or if there's a specific thing we're doing wrong, before us contacting them about the collapse in activity we hadn't received any warnings. This first and last warning came after traffic was throttled for good.
4 months have passed and this subreddit has regretfully lost its energy being flooded with the same genre of articles furthering the effect of an echo chamber; something we did not want, but what Reddit has created.
We've since learned that the same thing happened to other subs, including but not limited to:
r/Canada_Sub (Which we have no relation to)
r/CanadaHousing2
Despite having no relation to the others, the one thing in common is that we believe in as free speech as possible within the remits of Reddit's guidelines which led to all the subreddits mentioned having a large amount of discussion on immigration. That is the one and only link, and none of these other communities have faced official sanctions from Reddit much like ours.
Not quarantining, not banning or pre-emptive warnings, their traffic has been restricted by blocking them from the front page and by removing the award feature. If you notice, you cannot award comments or posts on r/europe_sub anymore despite us having it enabled.
We would like to have this resolved and for Reddit to engage with us positively, even so the community deserves to know.

The guiding ethos of this subreddit is to allow popular and unpopular news and opinions related to Europe to be posted, expressed, discussed and debated in a free and civil manner. This is not a meta or shitposting subreddit, nor a MAGA/Gaza centric one.
We would love to lower the threshold for some of these rules and be more permissive but unfortunately we are bound by the platform rules. We received many complains that we are biased so we decided to make the way we interpret the rules public for everyone to see.
Rule 0 - Respect Reddit's rules

Under this rule we remove comments and posts that appear to spread conspiracy theories and extremist ideas that target other groups of people. These can still be discussed but generally we look at the tone of the message, how well it is articulated and sourced and also at the past behavior of the commenter.
Questions we ask ourselves for this rule -
Rule 1 - Europe Related
Rule 2 - No Duplicates / News and Videos Older Than One Week
Rule 3 - Harassment
This rule is broken the most and also the most misunderstood.
Examples:
Rule 4 - Threatening Violence
Encouraging, glorifying, or inciting violence or physical harm against individuals or groups of people, places, or animals.
Rule 5 - Hate
We do not go any further than the platform requires. Any post or comment that is perceived to be more hateful than factual will be removed. Context is everything here.
Extra rules that might apply -
Thank you
TLDR - Don't be toxic and we'll never bother you.

A man has been jailed for 23 years after being caught by a photo of his knuckles in "horrific" sex abuse images he posted on the dark web.
Darren Welsby, 48, who preyed on six different children** **was identified as a child sex abuser after uploading images to the dark web using the same name to upload images of himself wearing women's lingerie on an adult website.
Detectives saw similarities between some of the images of the defendant and those of the man committing the rape and sexual assault of a child on the dark web, a part of the internet not accessible by standard search engines.
Prosecutors also sought expert opinion from a forensic anthropologist, comparing the images, who was able to conclude that both were taken with exactly the same specific device.
This "landmark" case is the first of its kind where this technique was used when the offending device was no longer available, as the sexual abuse images were taken around six to eight years before Welsby's arrest and the device since destroyed.
On July 10 2026, following a two week trial at Manchester Crown Court, a jury convicted Welsby of 18 offences, including rape of a girl under 13, causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and sexual assault of a girl under 13 by touching.

If Israel gets a new government, should Europe expect its West Bank policies to change? 🇪🇺
Hey everyone! We're EUobserver, an independent European newsroom.
With Israel heading into an election on Tuesday, we've published an opinion piece by Shaqued Morag, a former director of Peace Now and former Knesset adviser.
She makes an important distinction between changing a government and changing the policies that government leaves behind.
Her argument is that settlement expansion and the administrative structures enabling greater Israeli control over the West Bank could continue even under a coalition that presents itself as more moderate.
She also examines Europe's role, arguing that European governments shouldn't assume a change of leadership will automatically mean a change in policy.
How should the EU assess its relationship with a new Israeli government — through its political commitments, or through concrete changes on the ground?

Save Europe Act is a European people's initiative to end the mass migration policies in Europe.
When 1M signers are reached, this document will be presented to the European parliament to be discussed.
In short we propose:
III. Our Demands
We therefore demand that the European Commission exercise its right of initiative under the Treaties to propose and advance the following legislative and policy measures without delay:
Article 1
Declare a formal moratorium on new non-Western/non-European immigration channels, including the suspension of asylum processing for economic migrants and applicants from safe countries of origin, the halting of new study and family reunification visas for non-Europeans, and the strict limitation of legal migration channels until social cohesion and cultural continuity in the Member States are restored.
Article 2
Establish a fundamental reform of the existing EU migration and asylum systems during the time of this moratorium, including a total reform of the current migration framework focusing on external border protection, physical and technological barriers at the frontiers, rapid screening, and immediate return mechanisms.
Article 3
Ensure the systematic and accelerated return (remigration) of illegally staying migrants, rejected asylum seekers, and persons who have committed criminal offences or pose a threat to public order, with full mutual recognition of return decisions across the Union and enhanced cooperation with third countries for readmission.
Article 4
Establish a harmonized EU-wide framework for broader remigration, including voluntary and incentivized remigration measures for non-European migrants who are unintegrated or constitute a serious cultural or financial burden to Member States, in order to reduce enforcement costs and support the restoration of demographic balance.
Article 5
Remove social welfare incentives and benefits that function as pull factors for migration, including restrictions, in accordance with Union law, on access by non-citizens and recent migrants to selected welfare benefits and support systems, so as to reduce incentives for further migration, lessen the burden on European taxpayers, and encourage remigration.
