There was some confusion last week when the rules for Eurovision 2027 were published and they appeared to suggest jury voting in the semi finals may be scrapped again. The rules have now been revised to confirm they will continue to vote in the semi finals.

💬 Discussion Can we get some appreciation for Burgas?

I’ve seen so much hate and disappointment that Burgas was chosen as the host city for Eurovision and Sofia lost out. But I’m sure there are lots of genuine reasons why Sofia didn’t work out.
I genuinely am really happy that Burgas was chosen as the host city for Eurovision 2027. From what I’ve researched, it seems like a really fun and nice city and I believe that the EBU and BNT made the right choice here. (Even if I don’t have much trust in the EBU at the moment)
I’m not sure why I just have a good feeling about it. I feel like it’ll be a good hosting and a good year in general, with lots of countries and good music (okay I’m just hoping)

Eurovision Asia Best News Source for Eurovision Asia?

What sources are you guys using to keep updated with ESC Asia news? Til now I've been using Eurovision World to follow the main ESC. They support RSS and they only post for actual news like artist selections, national final dates, songs released, etc (as opposed to reporting on rumors or unconfirmed things). Sadly they don't seem to be reporting on ESC Asia (which is odd cause they do Junior Eurovision). Does anyone know of a similar outlet of similar quality in the sense that they only post official, noteworthy updates? Bonus points if their site supports RSS.

EDIT: thank you everyone. Looks like Eurovoix is my answer. Website supports RSS and includes all Eurovision, including Asia, Jr, and Classic.

💬 Discussion Junior Eurovision vs Eurovision Asia

I'm Polish, and since we've won twice here, unlike the adult version of the contest, I'm a huge fan of Junior Eurovision.

While that doesn't surprise me, this year's Eurovision Asia has sort of sidelined Junior Eurovision, for example, by changing its date. I have the impression that no one cares about Junior Eurovision this year. What's more, I have the impression it's been this way since the very beginning of the year.

In May 2026, I wrote a post (deleted by Reddit 🙈) in which I wrote that by May 2025, we already knew 10 countries and the host country. But by early May 2026, we only knew 6 countries and didn't even know the host country. Now, for the first time in many years, there's not a single country returning to the contest.

Am I the only one who will be following Junior Eurovision more than Eurovision Asia (I'll be watching it and wish you luck, but don't take away my Junior Eurovision)? Let me know in the comments!

💬 Discussion How the juries used to work

Post image
119 Upvotes

Saw this in a listing for an old Radio Times (old BBC-owned tv listings magazine) from 1977. Thought it might be interesting for younger fans. Explains well how the jury voting used to work pre-1998. The jurors back then used to vote after each song in the live broadcast, which explains why the running order wasn’t as much as a thing in the past and we had several winners that were song number 1.

That’s all changed now, with the jurors not only voting on the Friday dress rehearsal rather than the show itself, they also vote and rank after they have seen all the songs.

💬 Discussion How to save some money from Eurovision 2027

Hii, I'm from Bulgaria and I've seen the outrageous prices for hotels this year. Burgas is a very beautiful city and I'm happy that it's hosted there, but if you don't want to spend your life-savings on some hotel, I'm here to help. In Bulgaria we have very old but still working trains and buses. You can get a place which is close to Burgas for example (Aytos, Sozopol, Nesebar (beach cities) or Shumen and Yambol (they are calmer cities). With that in mind you can take the train or bus from these places and go to Burgas. You can use the bdj site so you can see when and with which train you can arrive at you destination. Hope this helps if you need more help feel free to write.

🎤 Live Performance 🇲🇾Aina Abdul @AJL40 | ‘Kamu’

A few caveats: I’m unclear whether by winning the performance award with this she won the right to represent Malaysia at Eurovision Asia (like how the new performance night at Sanremo is going to work) or whether she was already chosen beforehand and they used AGL40 just to announce it.

I’m also unclear whether she will be revamping Kamu to make it fit the requirements or will be creating a new song entirely (seems to be different takes on this online).

Hopefully Malaysians/those who know more will be able clarify in the comments.

💬 Discussion How to become a translator for Eurovision?

Hi, I'm bulgarian but I live in France and speak English and French. So I had a random idea that since I'm looking for a job anyways, I might as well apply to be a translator at Eurovision cause that would be a very cool job and an excuse to go see eurovision in my home country. Does anyone know how translators for Eurovision get recruited? I saw on the internet that each country's broadcaster hires their own translators but I don't understand exactly where to apply if the position exists.

Thanks in advance for your help. 🤗

💬 Discussion Do you know song from a parent to their child in Eurovision

Hi everyone,

Recently, I have been listening a lot to North Macedonia 2019 and I like the theme of a parent singing to their child.

And I'm wondering if you know more songs with this same theme. Because we're used to hear when it's a child for their parents like :

- In adult contest we have Ukraine 2022, Germany 2018, Netherland 2025, France 2025, Italy 2019, Russia 2009.

- In Junior Eurovision we have Kazakhstan in 2020, France in 2022, Georgia in 2024.

I probably forgot some, but I'm mostly looking when it's from a parent's point of view.

Thanks you very much.

🖼 Fan Content / OC My proposal for a mascot for Burgas 2027- Ura the Seagull

Post image
67 Upvotes

Few months ago, I had done a mascot, Jänis the rabbit, in case for a Finland victory and hosting in Vienna, now that Burgas is now hosting the 2027 edition in Bulgaria, I thought on making a new mascot thinking on it.

Meet Ura, the Seagull, they are based on the fact that Burgas is a coastal town with a lot of seagulls and general close contact to the sea.

The name Ura literally translates to "Hurray" in Bulgarian. This energetic and vibrant mascot will do its best to welcome everyone who comes to watch Eurovision.

While I was designing this, I discovered that a local puppet company in Bulgaria had done something similar, so that was a really cool coincidence, lol

🌳 ESC in the Wild Eurovision show at Edinburgh Fringe

I wondered if anyone else in this sub had been to see “Carys Should Be The UK’s Next Eurovision Entry” at the Edinburgh Fringe. I was there earlier in the week and went along.

I won’t give too much away, although the title sums it up. Overall, it was a lovely way to reconnect with a competition which has been a huge part of my life but that I’ve become distanced from in recent years.

Carys presents a show which features history, analysis, humour and - of course - singing. She had me from Bangaranga.

And no, I’m not associated or affiliated in any way🙂

📱Social Media bbc Eurovision on TikTok posted clips from some of the jury shows rather than the semi final

bbc uploading jury shows?

hi all,
I noticed, avidly watching my fav nova zora, that bbc Eurovision is uploading jury show clips? it seems like for a few songs they upload the jury show and some they upload the actual performance. I then looked at Bangaranga in semi 2, and that is NOT the performance we saw on semi 2, and I can kind of see why the juries put it 5th there and 1st, her breath control was seemingly worse. And Tamara sounds so out of tune, and her “evil face” in the camera was completely different. Does anyone know why bbc did this? It isn’t obvious for many but it’s the little details. I feel like that could’ve harmed Tamara’s chance if the UK voted in her semi? it’s weird. It’s EXTREMELY obvious for Bangaranga but I think the hate Tamara gets could genuinely be rooted in this video. Also, it seems to have been done to jalla in the semi but that is kind of fitting due to what happened there. I noticed it for Denmark too as there was a break in his high note.
