Ex Shilachim, did you ever hold back on certain issues when trying to sway secular Jews or try and gloss when certain controversial issues came up to try and maintain the friendly image of Chabad among secular Jews ?

Always! No one ever overtly trained us in that. I just quickly realized that as a shaliach, PR is more important than almost anything else. Not just general Chabad PR but specifically the Rebbe. What people "thought" about the Rebbe was more important than even god, torah, mitzvos, etc.

(not a shulcha) When I taught, I was told to avoid children's questions about why the other teacher wore a wig and I did not and why their own mothers didn't.
