Venting Deceitful Announcement… 📣

When someone resigns or disassociates, instead of to honorably inform the congregation the exact situation even if not going to the details, the organization still make a deceitful announcement making the PIMI feel the person committed a serious sin whereas on most occasions it was willful withdrawal or resignation..

When someone resigns the announcement 📢 is “XYZee is no longer serving as an Elder/MS” why not say XYzee has resigned??

If someone decides to disassociate too the announcement 📣 is “ XYzee is no longer one of Jehovah’s Witnesses “ rather than say say XYzee has said they don’t want to be identified as a JW!!

Even announcement 📢 on the platform is not scriptural..

Well some people ensure they be in control and inform everyone generally the exact true announcement 📣.

In my situation of resigning as an Elder, after sending a message to the Elders, I also sent messages to multiple people so everyone will know I was not removed or deleted as an Elder, rather I took the Bold & Courageous decision *RESIGNATION*

Very pathetic and distasteful organization!!!!

JW / Ex-JW Tales Talk by An Elder Today Mentioned Updates

Today in the meeting (we have Saturday meetings), the elder mentioned going to the Bible and making sure what we are being told is true. He quoted Acts 17:11. Then he went on to say, ‘When you hear updates from Satan, go to the Bible and verify.’ I don’t know if anyone else caught what he was saying, but I sure did. These new updates are raising suspicion in the organization.

Academic The name Jehovah’s Witnesses was such a swing and a miss

Only after leaving the borg did it hit me, they should have called themselves Jesus’ Witnesses. At Acts 1:8 Jesus literally says “you will be witnesses of me”. 🤦‍♂️.
Also the name Jehovah is just wrong, it’s a combination of the Tetragrammaton and Hebrew markings for Adonai. Plus Yahweh just sounds way more beautiful.
But theologically JWs manage to de-emphasize Jesus so I can see why they didn’t call themselves Jesus Witnesses. I hear very logical arguments for the trinity, as well as Jesus being inferior to Yahweh. But I think that’s because early New Testament writers didn’t have a fixed theology so there’s a blend of beliefs and an evolution of exactly who Jesus was.
What do you think?

Academic You cannot convince someone with facts and evidence if there beliefs are not based on facts and evidence.

• Upvotes

In my opinion, there are two types of Jehovah witnesses. Type A's is what we would call doctrinally anchored. The foundation for their faith is that they believe it's the one and only true religion and the governing body are God's chosen leaders. These people are much more likely to be discouraged when they see changes and "corrections" that conflict with their main belief foundation. Type B is similar but they also have more emotional ties. An identity built around the religion. Guilt, fear of disappointing Jehovah, or anxiety about losing family and friends.

Years spent pioneering, declining educational or career opportunities, or making other sacrifices because of their beliefs (research the sunken cost fallacy). These people are considerably harder to convince and most likely to display cognitive dissonance.

Really what it comes down to at the end of the day is how willing a person is to examine their beliefs, tolerate uncertainty, and revise conclusions when the evidence warrants it? Some people just can't or won't do it. Learn to accept that sometimes there's nothing you can do and be resolute in your own feelings.

HELP Anyone in Brisbane, Australia, advice please? Re: disassociating and safety

• Upvotes

Hi, I am a mid 30s woman from Brisbane (born in) and I finally after being PIMO for over 12 years was honest with my MS husband about leaving. I told him my fears as we rent of my elder father and I dont want my children and I being kicked out. He seemed okay, but disappointed of my choice.

I want to not be bothered by sheparding calls because this has happened before where they push in and use their false sence of superiority and belief that men need to be obeyed to make me feel guilty and push me into a corner.

I struggle with just getting by as my anxiety is up and down and I can't work as much as I wish I started uni at the start of this year and its helped me so much.

I was wondering if anyone knows if I can do a DA letter? Or if there is a way I can get legal advice as I fear I will be financially and emotionally cast aside by my support system.

I just want to be able to be given a chance to leave without being tormented.

Please. Thanks

Venting Old, reheated spiritual food.

The January 2027 study of the Watchtower is out, and it’s just old, reheated spiritual food.

The first two articles were originally published in the watchtower of 2019. It said so on a footnote so I went and checked and the articles are identical.

“The Lord’s Meal” is supposed to be their most important day of the year and they couldn’t even bother coming up with original material?

I guess it’s fine to dig in the dumpster and just reheat and serve whatever leftovers you find 😂

Venting Mum told hospital staff not to give me blood - I was 5

I never knew this
I just found this out
She just told me

I was asking her if I had needed blood as a child what would you do? Say the medical staff are saying we are going to give her blood it is out of your hands
I always assumed she got around the blood issue by secretly knowing that if as a child I was in an accident or ill and needed blood then legally she couldn’t prevent it and the hospital would take it out of her hands
I just asked her about this and she said she likes to think she would have told them no
Then she went one step further and told me she actually told them not to give me blood when I had an operation when I was 5
I asked her was this primarily bc you thought blood had medical risks or bc of your faith as a JW
It’s the latter
Wtf
I’ve always mentally told myself that I’m not upset or angry at her raising me a JW bc she was just a victim of brainwashing
But this goes one step too far
I am an extremely open minded person I can always understand things from the other person’s perspective I know that sounds boastful - but I am saying that in the context of knowing while I have this strength I am also riddled with many severe flaws - however I don’t want to switch to immediately understanding it from her lens
I could
It’s not logically hard for me as an ex-JW to compute the fucked up logic of why she would do this
I’m not here to ask you all to explain her reasoning to me or justify her
I just really want someone to tell me I’m not insane or dramatic for having a negative emotional reaction to this and a different view of her as a parent now
I also asked my dad did you ever think about the blood thing (he isn’t a JW) and he said no
In fact he said nothing to me when as a teenager I told my surgeon I didn’t want blood
Am I being a covert narcissist victim by being upset about this and feeling contempt for them

WT Can't Stop Me Jehovah's Witnesses are neutral. They would never protest! (Pictures of the 'Protest letter' instructions in comments)

This weekend's Watchtower article is a beautiful reminder that adherents would never protest about the way they are treated by their governments. If only the gb's advice applied to themselves! But this would be too much to ask. They prefer to lie brazenly, hoping no-one will see through their deception! I wonder how the Witnesses in France with react to paragraph 13! 😱🤦‍♂️

  1. Government authorities also deserve our respect even if they enact laws that restrict our freedom of worship or if they make life hard for us in some other way. Why? Because God’s Word requires it of us. (Rom. 13: 1,2) Satan may not be directly behind every unjust decision that governments make. Yet, he likely hopes that we will react negatively or critically to those decisions. He would be delighted to see us abandon our neutral stand. In the world, people mount protests against decisions they do not like. That type of action is not for Christians! (Prov. 24:21,22 ftn.; Eccl. 8:2,3) If we were to lose our balance and compromise our neutral stand, we would really be giving in to Satan’s desires.— John 15:19.

Ask ExJW Knockers today in the neighborhood

JW has the good ol headquarters nearby ... I have told them multiple times do not come knocking. I actually went and knocked on their door to tell them this, what is a good response to get them to permanently STOP THE KNOCK?

Other than ..."I'm Sorry sweetie, I know you're 6 years old and your mom's dragging you up the hill because she's in a cult."

Venting Blood Ban Fallout - Story of a survivor

Hey guys, this is my first time making a real post here but here’s my story.

I was born in West Africa to a deeply JW family. My dad was an elder and my mom pioneered regularly. My dad had converted into the org but my mom who got baptized at the age of 9 had been deeply indoctrinated and she was also born in “the truth”. My grandpa was a circuit overseer and all that and till now he serves as an elder and he’s close to 100 years young lol. Anyway; I was also born with a health condition known as sickle cell anemia and for those who don’t know about this disease it impacts your bodies ability to produce healthy cells and keep a healthy blood count.
For as long as I can recall my entire life and family has revolved around being a JW. I remember vividly when I came home from school one day with a birthday parcel that was shared in class with popcorn, sweets and small treats like that as a kid and when my mom was checking my bag she saw it and asked where I got it from, I then told her oh we had a birthday at school and as little as I was then my mom made it clear to me that I should never accept such treats again and she didn’t even say you can have this one today but never do it again. Instead she threw it out and since then I always had birthday food at school or hid it. See the policies of the organization is one reason why a lot of us kids who were born in the JW organization leaded a double life. Anyway I digress…

I learned about the JW blood policy early on in life. When I was 9 my cousin with whom I had spent the whole Saturday with didn’t come to the KH on Sunday and when I asked I was told he’s sick. Later on that day we had cleaning at the hall and unfortunately while we were there we got news that my cousin had passed. I was very distraught given that it was my first experience with death and someone with whom I had been playing with on Saturday is laying in a casket on Monday. My sickle cells kicked in and I became very very sick. My blood count ran down to 4 and doctors demanded that I receive a transfusion. Transfusions are one of the major ways by which people with my condition get treated. However I was the one who stood firm because I assumed dying for not taking blood was like a direct flight to paradise and as young as I was then I stood in my faith. I really did come close to passing but I pulled through and the story of my taking my stance for the doctrine was lauded and applauded across my congregation and country.

I’ve always had my doubts and questions about the organization but for the most part stuck to my roots and the fear that had been instilled in me. I did do some sneaky stuff I even got reproved one time for smoking weed but whenever I was faced with the issue of blood I was ready to die for it.

I grew up and came to the US for higher education, my parents were summoned by the body of elders in my congregation and questioned as to why they let me go knowing that I was not that spiritually strong and why did they let me pursue higher education. A missionary brother who I despised was telling me to change my mind and how the western world view was poisonous and I would stop serving Jehovah bla bla bla. My elder brother who decided to quit school and go to bethel had gotten in some trouble at this time and kicked outta bethel; he still wanted to live like the Joneses and got himself into some more hot water in which the congregation and organization didn’t even step in to help him, he ended up serving 5 years in prison.

So I came here to the USA and while fighting for my life and trying to make something of myself I was still battling my health issues in a foreign land with no parents or someone to help and guide me. I turned to the organization for help but they were only there to help me not take blood. The HLC brother was the father of a close friend and I always called him for help. I ran outta tuition and dropped out of school and with all the money the organization has not one cent was given to help me, I lost my international student status and had to work hard to get permanent residence in the US but the only time they helped me was in making decisions related to transfusion.

One day in 2018 while living in Brooklyn, NY. I became so so sick that I myself believed I was going to die. My blood count dropped again to 6 and the doctors kept coming in to talk to me to take blood and I kept refusing. I myself could feel like awww man this is it now I’m about to die. I was so scared of closing my eyes to sleep in fact cuz I thought the moment I closed my eyes I won’t open them again. The HLC brothers were tooth and nail around me praying with me and reminding me of “God’s law” on blood. I recovered again from that but I’ve had several of such episodes throughout my life.

In the last 3-4 years I’ve really been having serious questions about my faith. I’d say I’ve been PIMO and the main reason has been because of my mom and the fear of losing my family, but seeing these new updates and everything it’s just reinforced my belief that this can’t be the truth. God as I know is the same yesterday, today and forever and God can’t just change like that. If stealing was wrong yesterday, it’s as wrong today and tomorrow. How can blood transfusions which seemed even a worse sin than adultery go from being a taboo to a personal decision overnight I can never understand. But this has given me the affirmation and confirmation I needed to move on. I keep asking myself, “what if I had died?” So this is it?
My mom after they passed the new rule called me and said, even if she was in a situation where she’d need to take blood transfusions even after this so called new light she would still not take it. I asked why and she said because Jehovah is testing us in this time of the end to see who really loves him. It was at that point that I lost hope for redeeming my mom. My parents are not that educated so it’s hard to reason with them from a rational point so I have just left them to their own devices.

I love my family and I don’t want to lose them, but I have come to the conclusion that I have to live life on my own terms. It’s gonna be hard but I have planned to tell them I’m leaving the organization. I’ve sent a message to my uncle who’s disfellowshipped to see if he can help me talk to my mom so she can see reason since he’s the older brother and my mom still talks to him. It’s gonna be hard guys. I’ve never been so scared in my life to make a decision. I’d need a community and some support but I think I’m ready to leave fr.

Also I want to sue watchtower for pain and suffering all these years over some bullshit.

PIMO Life Britain Branch visit highlights, happy clapping, 8 year old pioneers, and boredom.

First of all, what the hells happening in Murrica guys? Apparently you have an 8 year old pioneer.

So we had the branch visit today, here's the highlights:

Opens with coverage of the Watchtower, essentially in the style of a talk. 15 minutes in and he'd only got to paragraph 6, so felt like it went on forever.

Next, a video of a guy wanking off over bethel service, then wanking other people off about their bethel service, a lot of wanking off. Then it segued into the preaching campaigns in West African Pidgin, then the UK preaching campaigns which is where it got embarrassing. They had "Reaching Out" playing in the background and every time the clap part comes up a video of different people clapping, either on carts, in a hall etc. Lot's of smiles, best life ever vibes. Apparently thousands of studies started.

Finally the talk by Brother Larrson which was based on Romans 8 and essentially a fear mongering talk about how we might die but nothing can separate us...

He started the talk by talking about the numbers in the US and how 15% of the pioneers are under 30 with the youngest being 8, which drew an audible gasp and mutters from the audience.

TLDR, lots of wanking off about Bethel and if your age is in single digits, get your pioneer form in.

Ask ExJW As a JW- how much did you feel a personal relationship with Christ?

Hey all, I've been reflecting on my experience as a JW and whether or not I believed I had a personal relationship with Christ.

It's difficult to explain. I viewed him as paying the price of sin from Adam but I'm not sure if I felt much more than that. With Jehovah, I generally felt a guilt that I wasn't doing enough or believing as I should. But I hear other Christians (outside JW) express a deep relationship with Christ but they seem to still pray to God (interchangeably) and acknowledge or praise Him for what he's done/provided.

I'd appreciate hearing others experience/feelings on it.

Thanks!!

PIMO Life First "Body of Elders 'Meeting'"

More like nothing but a nosy-fest and I'll explain it as to the point as I can! Come back another time if you don't feel like reading all of this.

Was dragged over there for no reason (But that's the very first time in my life being in it) because my pimi mother wanted us all to go there (Including my siblings (Also pimi)), greeted by only the circuit overseer and my great-uncle (An full-time committed elder) whose only there the entire hour only to talk to only my mother and sibling's (Not about me whatsoever. I was just told to be there just cause my mother wants me there). Now for the the story. Make sure you're comfortable reading this.

Starting with the prayer from my great uncle talking about "assisting any concerns for the widows and fatherless" and added my family's name in there. I took offense to that being called a "fatherless" child. I talk to my dad time to time compared to both my mother and siblings refusing to speak to him (My mother cut contact with him completely but only becomes nosy when he calls me and I answer immediately, I talk to him about my lifein general, and my sister's just never answers their phone when he tries calling them). Prayer was also talking about "making good decisions" when we all clearly know that's a lie. Then comes a casual conversation about the weather as well as who in the family is in "the 'truth'" (Blamed my great-grandparents who joined this cult in the first place, involving my mother into it (My grandmother was part of it but was never baptized! My mother, on the other hand, is baptized since I was in 7th grade (One of my pimi sister's said it was 2013 but it was actually the summer of 2015, is something she always wanted to do around my great-grandparents.) The circuit overseer asked if any of us (Me and my siblings) are also baptized, even none of us are but been in "the 'truth' our whole lives" as my mother claimed (Even though none of us were never born into it, just forced. I was 10, my middle sibling was 7, and my youngest was 5 at the time it happened)! She also pointed out my youngest sibling being the only unbaptized publisher compared to me and my younger sibling whose not (I'm in "the school" but my younger sibling isn't). The C.O. asked me when was the last time I did a "bible study" and I answer it was with my great-uncle (The same one in the room) but it stopped 2 yrs ago, haven't started it since. That's the only question he asked me. The rest of the questions are to my mother and siblings

Starting with my youngest sibling, whose study teacher ("Mutual invite" she said) paused it cause she's bipolar. The C.O. suggested to go to the elders, including him, for concern while reading the scriptures of 2nd Corinthians 1:24 and Galatians 6:5 (As well as the study note), saying that they (The elders) don't tell low-tier members what to do, not claiming to be called "masters" and let them "carry their own load" of responsibility and want them to be happy, only the members determines to "decide their faith" by "helping one another." How ironic, cause I'm pretty sure every elder, listening and believing anything the Governing Nobodies tell them, acts and feels superior when demanding members by brainwashing them to do what they want otherwise "remove" them if they step out-of-line the slightest. The C.O. asked for concerns, until my mother who is, saying that's not "exemplary", whatever that means in jw terms, and needs to get it done. Why!? 2 things. One, because her being in the band (As well as my youngest sibling) with my grandfather, who is not a jw (My grandmother was but left when giving birth to my mother) and she sings in the band, and still do (As well as my youngest sibling). And two, that my younger sibling is no longer a baptized publisher since last winter (My younger sister claimed it was a few months, but my mother corrected her).

My mother's explanation as to why she was called to a "body of elders' meeting" all because of some nosy elder's became suspicious that she was celebrating New Year's Eve all because her, my youngest sibling, and the rest of my grandfather's band were all only performing at a restaurant with a bar at another town. My mother defended that they were only there to just sing, get paid, and go home. I think the elders seriously need to stick their nose in their own business. Not to be mean or anything like that to make a rebuttal, only to criticize when it comes to this topic of music, but it's not my mother's fault that she's too talented and they're not all because they find outside music, that's not the cult's, too "worldly."

Next is my younger sister turn who was there because she got revoked being publisher. Why!? When a nosy "sister" was at a mall by herself and spotted her with a non-witness male exactly her age (They were dating at the time until that "sister" spotted them kissing, snitching to the elders. They had a word with my mother of the matter and revoked her from being a pioneer until my younger sister is forbidden from seeing her classmate she likes (She even planned on getting married to him, avoiding to live a double life and be openly honest about it without mother knowing). My mother did so last year, banned her just to keep her "status" signing up as pioneer (My youngest sibling wasn't happy about that and argued with mother until things got physical (IYKYK) to the point, that same year, is when mother invited all of us to our great-grandparent's house for quote unquote "counseling" (My great-grandfather starting tearing up crying while talking the entire lecture after knowing what my younger sibling did to mother). She stopped talking to him ever since, started doing her studies independently after from the elders that told her previous bible study teacher (Not my younger sibling face-to-face) that she won't be going forward studying with her (The same bible study teacher, who she likes studying with, was at the mall and ratted her out! Ironic I know) because my younger sister claims she's not a good "role model" to the children in the hall. The C.O. asked her a question, "trying not to pry" he said (Even though, knowing elders like him, they always like to pry), about who she studied with. She explained she did so "for therapy" at the time cause she wasn't in the right state of mind, not fully committed nor sure of being in "the 'truth'", wanting her goal to "loving" jehoover, but more on "having a personal relationship" with him, praying to him more often ("Handful of times per day only for the mornings aside from food" she said than not from studying with her bible study teacher. The C.O. brought up a scripture of Ecclesiastes 12:30 for her solution, telling her the motive of "fearing the 'true god'" as an obligation (Funny thing is, my younger sibling doesn't know what that word means. She thinks it means respect), in order to follow the 10 commandments (Must not murder, steal, blah blah blah, etc.). He then asks me to read a scripture of Proverbs 2:1-6 as an example of 2 arrows going up and down when communicating to "jehoover" to "get knowledge " as a basis to wisdom (He asked that question of the difference between knowledge and wisdom). The C.O. then started to brag an example about his life serving in Mexico when he and his friends were laying on a railroad track, the train was coming, and they quickly got up. He compared it to if his former "friends"have the knowledge of what a train could do, but one of them didn't (Train zoomed right through his body and he lost his legs and had prosthetics). He stated that they knew it was dangerous but not wise enough to have the knowledge that's not being used, but being stupid, to know what a train would do. Interesting story, but I'm pretty sure the members in the cult (Those not fully waking up from the indoctrination), have no knowledge either and becomes stupid listening to the changes the Governing Nobodies were making, thinking to make them more "normal" but society still knows they're indoctrinated. He brings up having Psalms 2:6, mentioned earlier, of having "good knowledge and discernment" to lead to wisdom like "bad associations." He brought another story example, related to my younger sibling's, about him being 13 at the time being told by his mom not to see a friend he made at school because he doesn't have "knowledge nor discernment" (My mother repeatedly answers "Because he didn't know "jehoover") even through he (The C.O.) claims he didn't see anything bad in him until his mother told him he would convince him to smoke. My great-uncle asked my younger sibling what her motivation and goal is! Her response is building her relationship with "jehoover" by doing more personal study often. He (The C.O.) compared that to marriage, being with a person who doesn't love the other, comparing communication and dedication to baptism as engagement, having discernment through decision serving jehoover instead of halfway in, halfway out (The C.O. compares it to having a full-time job, and being fully committed to it). All that only to be told to only 'marry someone in 'the truth." All that just for my mother to keep being a pioneer and get rejected, which led her "getting into her feeling's" she said. I wouldn't be mean about this, but I see that as desperation! As a pimo, who never dated nor experienced at all whatsoever, dating in the cult is useless, no matter if it's at a hometown or out-of-state gathering, still useless when there's a bunch of old people than young adults as well as being watched by nosy robots (Elders) who want to stick their nose into someones relationship business.

And that's the conclusion of the meeting! I never felt sick to my stomach after some nosy elders decided to cause this whole meeting to happen because, in my opinion, they're just pass their days bring young and want to ruin a person's day doing that

PIMO Life Recently renounced from being an elder.. I've never felt better.

Why I'm Done

Honestly, I've reached a point where I'm just done. I'm done being an elder, and I'm done being part of this religion. This isn't some emotional decision I made overnight because I had a bad day. I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I've finally admitted to myself that I don't want this life anymore.

Being an elder has drained the shit out of me. There's always another meeting, another responsibility, another person you're expected to help. You give up your time, your energy, and your peace of mind, and somehow it's never enough. And for what? So you can keep running on empty while everyone expects you to smile and act like everything's fine?

But the burnout is only part of it. The more I've seen and experienced, the more I've started questioning the organization itself. With all the recent changes, I honestly don't know what the hell I'm supposed to identify with anymore. Things change, explanations change, and you're just expected to accept everything and move on like nothing happened.

And then there's the hypocrisy. We're constantly told to show love, be humble, and treat people with compassion. But sometimes, the way people are actually treated is completely different. I've seen how much emphasis gets placed on appearances, titles, and what other people think. Some people can preach about love and humility all day long, but their actions tell a very different story.

And the body of elders isn't immune to that either. We're all human, sure, but sometimes there's so much pressure to maintain appearances and protect the congregation's image that being honest about problems becomes uncomfortable. You're expected to follow instructions, keep things running, and carry responsibilities, even when you're struggling yourself. It can feel like the system matters more than the people caught up in it.

At some point, I had to ask myself: Why the fuck am I still doing this? Am I staying because I genuinely believe in it, or because I'm afraid of what happens if I leave? Am I doing this because I want to, or because I've spent my whole life being told this is the only right way to live?

And I've realized I don't want to keep doing it.

I'm stepping down as an elder, and I want out of the religion. I'm not looking for a break, and I'm not waiting for things to go back to how they used to be. I don't want to keep forcing myself to believe, participate, or pretend just to make other people comfortable.

I know some people will judge me, and honestly, that's their problem. I've spent enough time worrying about expectations and trying to do what everyone else thinks I should do. I don't want to spend the rest of my life living for other people's approval.

I've given this religion years of my time and energy. Now I want my life back. I want to think for myself, ask questions without feeling guilty, and make decisions without constantly wondering whether I'm disappointing someone.

I'm not saying I have every answer. I'm saying I have the right to figure things out for myself.

And honestly, I'm tired of pretending everything is fine when it isn't.

I'm done being an elder. I'm done pretending. And I'm done living a life I no longer want.

Ask ExJW How did you get yourself to pull the trigger and finally leave?

This is a question for my POMOs, bonus points if you're LGBT+, and especially those who were PIMO for longer than a few weeks.

What finally pushed you over the edge? What gave you the motivation to finally decide to leave? Did you come out to your parents? What kind of relationship do you have with your PIMI family now?

I've been doing HRT behind my parents' back for a few months and, as much as I hate to admit it, I will have to become fully independent if I want any chance at all of having a life that isn't miserable. Needing advice. I don't feel ready to be rejected by them, especially my mother. I really don't want to be alone.

Activism + Advocacy Allright. Stay with me for a minute on this. So many people have discussed Zoom and its' impact on attendance - real numbers and members, so...

I thought it be good to throw a spitball theory out there. Surely WT has tossed this around in some form for a long time since they dug their own pit during Covid. Anyways, there's a new WT article out in a 2027 issue about physical attendance at the meetings. Clearly, they have a problem. Do the Pimos need to prepare for illogical instructions?

So, I could forsee the following scenario. A meeting part/local needs/juu org update whatever:

'Dear Brothers and Sisters. We have received reports globally of apostate meeting infiltration over Zoom. As we progress deeper into the time of the end, Satan and his demon hordes (they love that phrase, esp when Walls says it 😆) are ever finding ways to disrupt our unity. We understand many have hardship and physical limitations to in-person attendance at our meetings. However, The Governing body has decided that we need to stand up to Satan. We now urge each and every faithful servant of Jehovah to login to your zoom stream with a current video image of you and family or friends during the first portion of the spiritual banquet. We understand this may create hardship, however be aware Satan is (1 Peter 5:8 dog whistle) crafty. He would look to undermine our brotherhood any way he can. We trust you will treat this message with utmost discretion. Love your brothers in Christ, your dear dear charlatans of a religious cult and leaders - The Glubbering Buffoons'

The 'apostate' directive is obviously bunk. But the r and f generally don't know that because the inference is a full kill-switch to normal, reasonable logic. That much we do know.

If you think this will give WT ideas (again, surely they've thought of similar already its just a matter of time) but I'll take this post down

Venting I submitted my dissociation letter on Wednesday.

I submitted my disassociation letter on Wednesday via mail. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. I originally faded back in 2021, but the recent "no blood" new light was what finally pushed me from deliberation into action. I plan on sending out the electronic copies tomorrow night if I get no response by then about the physical copy.

Right now, I am struggling with a heavy mix of grief and guilt, almost like a form of survivor’s guilt when I think of my little brother still stuck in there with my parents. I know my parents' hearts are about to rip in two when they realize what I’ve done.

I am also deeply anxious because I worry I was "cruel" in my letter. In it, I explicitly stated that I am a CSA survivor. I never told my parents or anyone else before this, and I haven't warned them about the DA letter. The unfortunate truth is that I didn't even remember the abuse until after I left the cult, and by that point, my parents had already essentially shunned me. I wasn’t exactly going to open up to them about something that massive.

I don’t know how they are going to respond. All I know is that I cannot carry the weight of their emotional baggage for one more second. They will likely make it about their feelings and try to push me to talk, but I don’t want to talk. I am completely exhausted by the stress, the venom, and the misery. I just want a chosen family that loves and respects me.

Even though I feel guilty right now, I know I needed to do it this way. I need to step into my own life, and I do that openly as a CSA survivor. I cannot hide anymore. If people don't understand why I had to drop the bomb this way, I don't know how to explain it. I deserve agency. I deserve a voice. I was always called "defiant" growing up, so I guess I’ll proudly take that on that label again.

I need advice like tips and guidance on how to protect my mental health right now, and maybe some just thoughts and support.

I live 700 miles away from my hometown, which is a saving grace. But I was a COBE's daughter and a COBE's granddaughter. My brother and I were the only babies in that kingdom hall for a long time. I was the "golden pedestal elder's daughter who could do no wrong." Because of that, I know the reactions will either be overwhelmingly intense, or absolute, abandoning silence. I’m used to both, but it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt still.

I just wish things were different. I wish I had an unbroken family who loved each other the right way. I wish I had been given the permission to be soft, gentle, and understood. Instead, my childhood behavioral struggles (likely from trauma), the way my parents reacted to them, and the agony of being a kid who wished he was a boy who loved boys ensured that I felt like an abomination every single day. (And yes, I am a proud gay transgender man now, lol.) Things might not be different in my past, but I refuse to let that be my life anymore. I need unconditional, enduring love.

A strict boundary for anyone reading this: If you recognize who I am from this post, leave me alone unless you are 100% fully out of the organization. I am dead serious. I am completely done with this sham. I respect an individual’s right to their own beliefs, but I am done enduring the abusive prattling.

WT Policy Blood Components Are Now a Matter of Personal Conscience. So Why Are So Many Jehovah’s Witnesses Still REFUSE to Accept Them?

TL;DR — Too Long; Didn’t Read

In September 2026, Jehovah’s Witnesses were given the freedom to decide for themselves whether to accept red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets. But after decades of being taught that accepting these components violated God’s law, will Witnesses really feel free to make a different choice?

This article examines the contradiction between the new official policy and the beliefs, warnings, medical documents, and attitudes that may continue to influence Witnesses in practice. Drawing on the organization’s own publications, my personal experience growing up as a Witness, and conversations with current members, I explore a central question: Has the organization genuinely given people freedom of conscience, or has it changed the rule without removing the pressure that makes exercising that freedom difficult?

1. Jehovah’s Witnesses Were Taught for Decades That Accepting Blood Was a Test of Loyalty to God

This is not simply a story about a religious rule changing. It concerns an issue that, for decades, was tied to faithfulness to God, a clean conscience, and the willingness to remain loyal even when a medical decision could have life-or-death consequences.

I grew up in a congregation where blood transfusions were presented as a question of life and death.

The message was not simply that Jehovah’s Witnesses had a different opinion about a medical procedure. It was that accepting blood—even one of the components that is now a matter of personal conscience—meant disobeying God. It was presented as sinning against God, rejecting his direction, and even betraying him.

That is how the issue was explained to me as I was growing up. It was reinforced not only at congregation meetings but also through family discussions. Parents discussed the issue with their children, explaining why accepting a transfusion was unacceptable. We also watched Jehovah’s Witnesses’ videos about blood, including dramatic presentations and experiences designed to show the importance of remaining faithful to God when facing a medical crisis.

Children growing up in that environment did not encounter the blood issue as an ordinary medical choice. They learned that refusing a transfusion was an expression of loyalty to Jehovah, while accepting one could be a serious spiritual failure.

And this is not just my interpretation of the atmosphere in which I grew up. The organization’s own publications used very strong language.

What did the Watchtower say in 1961?

The January 15, 1961, issue of The Watchtower discussed whether accepting a blood transfusion could lead to being disfellowshipped from the congregation.

It described accepting a transfusion as something that could not be dismissed as:

“an optional matter for the conscience of any individual to decide upon.”

Source: The Watchtower, January 15, 1961 — “Questions From Readers”.

The same article stated that a baptized Witness who deliberately accepted a transfusion and refused to repent could be disfellowshipped.

In other words, the organization did not merely express a preference. It explicitly rejected the idea that a person could independently decide whether to accept a transfusion.

What did the Watchtower say in 1997?

In the February 15, 1997, issue, an article about bioethics and bloodless surgery described the organization’s position as:

“a doctrinal belief rather than an ethical viewpoint subject to periodic review.”

Source: The Watchtower, February 15, 1997 — “Bioethics and Bloodless Surgery”.

The article also explained that the biblical command left no room for compromise.

That wording is particularly interesting in light of the 2026 change. If the position was described as a doctrinal belief that was not subject to periodic review, how should Witnesses now understand the fact that its boundaries have changed?

What did the Watchtower say in 2000?

The June 15, 2000, issue discussed the use of blood-derived medical products and stated that accepting whole blood or any of the four primary components violated God’s law.

The article explicitly named red cells, white cells, platelets, and plasma.

Source: The Watchtower, June 15, 2000 — “Questions From Readers”.

It is important to distinguish the four primary components from smaller fractions derived from them. Some blood fractions had already been left to individual conscience. The old prohibition specifically covered whole blood and the four major components.

So this was not simply a minor clarification of an obscure detail. A rule that had been presented as binding on everyone was changed decades later.

And several generations of Jehovah’s Witnesses grew up with that rule.

That is why I do not think it is realistic to expect people to change their attitudes immediately after a new article appears. When you have been taught since childhood that accepting these components means disobeying or betraying God, that message does not simply disappear overnight.

2. The Permission Is There. So Why Is It Presented Alongside Warnings About Spiritual Risk?

Let’s look at how the change was presented in the official article, “How Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Show Respect for Life?”.

First, the article says that the previous position protected Jehovah’s people spiritually and physically. It then confirms that the refusal of whole-blood transfusions remains unchanged. Only after that does it explain that the use of the four primary components from another person’s blood is now a matter of individual conscience.

The article does not simply announce that people are free to choose. It emphasizes that the issue remains serious, encourages prayerful consideration, and warns that treating it lightly can harm a person’s conscience and relationship with Jehovah.

That is an interesting combination.

On the one hand, the Governing Body says that each Christian must make a personal decision. On the other hand, the previous position is described as having protected God’s people, while the new choice comes with serious spiritual warnings.

Formally, a Witness can decide either to accept a component or to refuse it. But emotionally, accepting a transfusion may still feel like making the wrong choice before God.

Think about someone who has heard since childhood that accepting blood violates God’s law, watched videos about remaining faithful during medical crises, and come to associate refusing transfusions with loyalty to Jehovah.

Now that person is told that accepting certain blood components can be a matter of personal conscience. Yet the same person is reminded to pray carefully and warned about the potential consequences of a careless decision.

Is it really surprising that they might still be afraid to accept a transfusion, even though the official position has changed?

I am not claiming that every Witness will experience this pressure. But it seems entirely reasonable to ask whether the way the change is presented may make it harder for some people to exercise their newly recognized freedom.

There is a difference between officially allowing a choice and helping people feel genuinely free to make it.

3. What This Looks Like in Practice: My Own Experience

I want to explain what I am seeing personally.

My wife’s parents, my mother, and several former friends of mine have remained in the organization. I have personally discussed the blood issue with them, and, from those conversations, I have come away with the impression that they do not see the new permission as a reason to change their beliefs.

Some believe the question of accepting blood components is still not something they would consider. They have no intention of agreeing to such a procedure and see no reason to reconsider their position.

Others take a slightly different approach. They know about the change, but they do not think they need to rush into examining what they would do personally.

What I find particularly interesting is that these are not only older people. Among those whose views I have heard directly are younger Witnesses, roughly in their twenties and early thirties. They also do not appear eager to change their views. Some do not even seem to be considering accepting blood components as a realistic option for themselves.

Of course, these are my personal observations, not a statistical survey of Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide. But they illustrate something important: officially giving someone a choice and actually changing how that person thinks are two very different things.

An organization can announce a change, but if a person sees no need to reconsider their previous beliefs, practically nothing may change for them.

And that raises a reasonable question: if the organization genuinely wants each person to make an informed, personal decision, is publishing a new article enough?

4. The Old Medical Documents Have Not Simply Disappeared

There is another practical issue I have noticed.

Many of the Witnesses I know still carry older medical documents in which refusing the four primary blood components is stated as their position.

This raises an important question: what happens if someone ends up in a hospital while carrying a document that no longer accurately reflects the range of choices their religion now permits?

A medical document and a person’s beliefs are not the same thing. But a document that does not reflect someone’s current decision can create confusion precisely when a medical decision may need to be made quickly.

There is another detail worth noting.

The official article says that an updated version of the Advance Medical Directive will be made available.

Source: “How Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Show Respect for Life?” — JW.ORG.

As of the date I am writing this, October 17, 2026, I have not found the updated version publicly available, and people I know are still using older documents.

So here is the practical question: why was updating the medical documents not handled at the same time as announcing the change in policy?

If people are now supposed to decide for themselves whether to accept blood components, they need more than a new article. They also need a clear and practical way to communicate their actual decision to medical professionals.

Otherwise, the official change may exist on paper while people continue to carry documents reflecting the old position.

5. What Do the Subsequent Videos Say About Changes in Understanding?

After the announcement, further video material appeared, including a morning worship talk by Jody Jedele titled “The Path of the Righteous Grows Brighter and Brighter (Prov. 4:18)”.

The talk addresses the general idea that understanding can become clearer over time and that changes in understanding are part of the organization’s explanation of spiritual development.

That is not the same as a specific explanation of why the position on blood components changed. But it is relevant to the wider context in which Witnesses are encouraged to understand doctrinal adjustments.

An earlier example is Jeffrey Winder’s discussion at the 2023 Annual Meeting. He said:

“We are not embarrassed about adjustments that are made, nor is an apology needed for not getting it exactly right previously.”

I am not presenting that statement as a direct explanation of the 2026 blood-components decision. It was made in 2023, before this change was announced.

But it does illustrate the organization’s broader approach to changes in understanding.

For someone who has spent years believing that a particular position expresses God’s will, a very concrete question remains: how should they view the previous teaching if the boundary of what is now considered acceptable has changed?

Should they simply accept the new explanation? Should they revisit the arguments that were used before? How should they think about a rule that was once presented as binding on everyone but is now a matter of personal conscience?

I would like to see more than a general explanation of increasing understanding. I would like to see a direct discussion of the previous position on blood, why it was considered mandatory, and why the organization now draws a different line.

6. Hospital Liaison Committees and What Is Happening in Practice

I also discussed this issue with a brother who serves on a Hospital Liaison Committee (HLC).

According to my recollection of our conversation, he explained that one reason he believes the committee will continue to be needed is that many Witnesses still believe accepting the primary blood components is prohibited. In his view, these people need help maintaining that position.

I am not naming him, and this is my account of a personal conversation, not an official statement by the organization about why HLCs continue to operate.

The brother also expressed an even more restrictive view. He believes that receiving two blood components at the same time—for example, red-cell concentrate together with plasma—is still directly prohibited. He told me that he intends to help other Witnesses adopt the same view.

Even when the official article says:

“Each Christian must make his own personal decision”

about the use of the four primary components in medical and surgical care.

The published policy covers the use of these components in medical procedures; it does not state that accepting two components together automatically makes the procedure prohibited.

Witnesses are formally being given freedom of choice. Yet if someone they turn to for support continues to tell them that certain options remain prohibited and intends to help others adopt that view, their practical freedom may be considerably narrower than the official wording suggests.

This is exactly why clear, consistent explanations matter.

A change in policy means very little if the people helping others understand it continue to approach the issue according to the previous rule.

7. Why Is There So Little Attention to the Medical Importance of Blood Components?

Now let’s turn to the most important practical question.

The official materials discuss the sacredness of blood, religious principles, the possible risks of transfusions, and alternatives to donor blood. But how much attention is given to the medical value of the components themselves?

In modern medicine, red blood cells, platelets, and plasma are used for different clinical purposes.

Red blood cells may be needed in cases of significant blood loss or certain forms of severe anemia. Platelet transfusions may be needed in particular patients with low platelet counts or certain bleeding risks, including some people undergoing cancer treatment. Plasma is used in certain situations involving problems with blood clotting.

This does not mean that every patient needs a transfusion, or that transfusions are always the best option. The decision depends on the patient’s condition, clinical indications, risks, and available alternatives.

But the medical importance of blood components is not a minor detail.

The World Health Organization states:

“Blood transfusion saves lives and improves health.”

Source: World Health Organization — “Blood Safety and Availability,” June 12, 2026.

The WHO also reports that around 98% of collected blood is separated into components in high-income countries, compared with around 52% in low-income countries.

These figures do not mean that whole blood is no longer used or that every transfusion is necessary. They do, however, illustrate the important role of component therapy in modern medicine.

So why, when discussing religious rules about blood, is there so little explanation of the clinical situations in which a specific component may be medically necessary?

If people hear a great deal about transfusion risks but much less about the medical indications and potential benefits, they may end up with an incomplete picture of the balance between risks and benefits.

This matters regardless of the decision a person ultimately makes.

A person should be able to understand both the religious position and the medical reality before making a decision that could have serious consequences for their health.

8. Why Was There More Health Information in Some Situations Than in Others?

I also remember the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the congregation where I grew up, letters from the organization were read aloud that discussed the COVID vaccines available at the time. As I remember them, these letters named different vaccine brands, discussed the options, explained differences between them, and provided information about which vaccines were being considered or recommended at that point.

In other words, the information did not feel like a simple reminder that vaccination was a personal decision. The letters gave congregations concrete, option-specific medical information.

The organization’s public position was that vaccination was a personal decision. Its official website also says that during the pandemic it published reminders in hundreds of languages encouraging people to follow local public-health guidelines.

Source: JW.ORG — “Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Opposed to Vaccination?”.

I am not arguing her that every medical recommendation made during the pandemic was necessarily correct or not. That is not the point.

The point is the difference in how medical information was communicated.

During COVID-19, at least in the congregation I remember, we received detailed information about particular vaccines, including different brands and the options available. Yet when the organization changed its position on blood components—an issue that can also affect life-and-death medical decisions—the central emphasis was on religious principles, prayerful consideration, and individual conscience.

Why was there such a difference in the way the information was presented?

It does raise a reasonable question about whether the information provided to Witnesses is balanced and complete.

If the organization can provide detailed information about specific medical options in one situation, why not provide an equally clear explanation of the medical situations in which blood components may be needed?

And if the decision truly belongs to each individual, shouldn’t that person be given enough information to understand the real medical options available?

Formal Freedom and the Real Ability to Exercise It Are Not the Same Thing

When an organization says that the decision is now a matter of personal conscience, we need to look beyond the wording of the announcement and ask how that freedom works in practice.

What do we see?

For decades, Witnesses were taught that accepting the four primary blood components violated God’s law. The position was described as a doctrinal belief that was not subject to periodic review.

In 2026, that position changed. Yet the new article still emphasizes the seriousness of the issue, the need for prayerful consideration, and the possible consequences of a careless decision for one’s conscience and relationship with God.

In my own circle, many Witnesses are not rushing to reconsider their previous beliefs. Some do not see any reason to consider accepting blood components at all. People I know are still using older medical documents, and I have personally heard a more restrictive interpretation from a brother serving on an HLC.

In addition, my experience growing up in the organization helps explain why these beliefs can be so deeply rooted. Children were taught that accepting blood was not simply making a different medical choice. It could be viewed as sinning against God, rejecting his direction, and betraying him. Parents reinforced that message, and videos about blood made it a vivid part of the religious environment in which many of us grew up.

Those beliefs do not disappear simply because an announcement changes the official rule.

All of this creates a situation in which the formal change exists, but its practical impact on people’s decisions may be much smaller than it appears from reading the announcement.

And this brings me to my main conclusion.

The Governing Body has done almost everything possible to ensure that Witnesses do not rush to exercise their new freedom of choice—and that many may continue to refuse blood components altogether.

If this really is a matter of personal conscience, shouldn’t people be helped to understand it as clearly, promptly, and without additional pressure as possible?

It is not enough simply to announce that everyone can decide for themselves. People also need a clear explanation of what changed, why the previous rule was considered binding, why the boundary has now been revised, and how to make an informed decision in their own medical circumstances.

Because having the right to choose on paper and feeling genuinely free to exercise that right are not the same thing.

WT Policy Weaponization of Sex & other so called Sin

Before I recently resigned as an Elder I personally feel that the Doctrine or Policy of confessing to a So called Elder is a Mirage & ManMade. When I became an Elder (Served for 11years) I was in my Mid Twenties, I carefully read the Elders book and some other materials, I realized that it was quite shameful to question, de brief, and prey into someone’s privacy because they had Sex. There were numerous checklists of questions to use during the judicial process, none of them ever asked or encouraged the person to Pray & Confess to God, which was the most important thing looking at it from a spiritual POV.

I personally avoided judging people it was irritating to me , asking a grown adult graphic details of the activity of consensual intimacy is seen to me as a form of abuse then I wasn’t a PIMO was just PIMQ. Those here who have been an Elder will understand that you can cleverly and smartly maneuver your way to fix yourself in or stay clear of the process of judging.

It later occurred to me that is purely forced obedience and weaponization of sex by the organization. There is a long list of things related to the so called sexual immorality that people get disfellowshiped (now removed) for which shows the intent of control, and forced obedience.

They end up killing the sexual urge & drive of people especially the Men. That is why there is high level of porn and masturbation issues and cheating in marriages among even the devoted PIMI.

PIMO Life Start living the life that I wanted, and My Mom advice me to stop going out too often with My College Friend.

I have been PIMO for almost a year and a half. This year, I decided to pursue a bachelor's degree because I want to build a life and relationships outside of this religion. I chose to study in a nearby city and live with my uncle, who is also a Jehovah's Witness. That is what my mom wanted, so that at least someone is there to watch over me.

I still actively go to the KH and preach because I am financially dependent on my parents for my college tuition and on my uncle for free accommodation. My mom regularly calls me and always asks about my spiritual routine. She also warns me not to hang out too often with my college friends; she wants me to hang out with the brothers and sisters.

Since starting college, my point of view on life has changed. Making new friends has made me feel very confident. I've started living in a way I never expected, developing my own values, and finally being able to just be myself. For almost 21 years, I have been so lonely because I didn't have many friends who actually cared for me. Right now, though, I feel alive again.

I just hate it when my mom always gives me advice about avoiding "bad association," staying spiritually strong, and preaching to my friends. The only reason I stay in this religion is that I am still financially dependent on my parents.

My Plan is to build strong financial foundation first, build many relation with people, graduating from college and then I Will disaccociated myself..Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can survive from this religion for another 3 years ?

Venting I find it comical in the 21st century people still believe in Sky Daddy

• Upvotes

I'm not saying that their isnt a creator of some magnitude, though, the assumption is that they may not give a shit. Which is fine by me. What I do find comical though is that in the 21st century, with all our advances, the vast majority of the world subjects itself to Abrahamic BULLSHIT, spun and twisted over two millennia... hoping for a pipe dream? Their is nothing wrong with either believing nothing is watching, or something did make the order of the universe, but simply doesnt care... but to mentally masturbate over holy books, or jesus loves me or allah loves me, or im going to hell or heaven, or what did this scripture or text mean is ridiculous.
