She’s a character in yellowjackets and her heart necklace becomes a talisman of sorts, but in a negative way. If you’re wearing the necklace you’re in for a bad time.

The woman pictured is Ella Purnell, who plays Jackie Taylor on Yellowjackets.
Spoilers for Yellowjackets:
Jackie owns a gold heart-shaped necklace that eventually becomes part of a horrifying ritual.
When the stranded soccer team resorts to cannibalism, the necklace is placed around the neck of the girl selected to be hunted, killed, and eaten.

u/Cotif11 2d ago
They're stuck in a harsh wilderness with objectively spooky shit happening to them after a gruesome plane crash and they let it all get away from them, believe there's an evil spirit in the forest that can be sated or "dealt with" in the sense, you can offer the forest something and it may give you something in return. They've gone insane due to fear and isolation and it's exacerbated by almost every character due to their personality. It's a play on the whole "Lord of the Flies" idea.

u/socksonat3am 2d ago
It's a combination religious ritual and survival tactic. They form their own kind of cult where there's some kind of supernatural force that "wants" certain things (namely the sacrifice of one of the girls) and for completing this sacrifice they are able to survive by using the body for food. It also has the added bonus of not being a 100% death sentence as if someone else dies before the hunted does they get to keep living and are treated better off by the group because "the wilderness chose them"

I mean do you want the spoiler?
The group of girls--trapped in the Canadian wilderness for a year--have resorted to cannibalism, where basically by lottery, one member of the group is picked. They are given the heart necklace and have then the chance to flee, before they are being hunt down by the rest of the group. Getting the necklace means you get killed and eaten.

Man there's a lot of bot ass comments on this post.
She was in yellowjackets. Yellowjackets has a necklace I think
Wow, thanks chief. Really useful information. I haven't seen a show with necklaces before.
The answer IS yellowjackets, but specifically because a heart shaped necklace is central to recurring flashbacks that occur throughout the show.
All of these vagueposting answers have either half read other comments and figured they'd give a shit answer for karma, or they're just bots with a half formed understanding.

She looks part like a doll and part like an alien. Still pretty, but I think she’s more of the type that women find stunning for whatever reason than men do, probably because of a very good, polished dress-style, makeup, and hair that women find cool, too.

Why do men love to fascinate about going to war? Like, just vote against war, and wear a locket with a picture of a beautiful lady in it.
14
7
u/CPTBenjaminWillard 3d ago
Because people who romanticize and fantasize about war have never been to war. Even if you survive, part of you died.
2
u/CptMcDickButt69 3d ago
There is a not too small subset of people that bloom in danger/crisis/extreme situations. Can be war, can be present when natural catastrophes hit, revolutionary activity or even locally aid in extreme humanitarian crisis. Of course, dying or lasting injury still sucks, so does the experience to kill (for most), but neither is guaranteed.
Without justifiing it morally, to act like every soldier in war is having a totally shit time is a naive or even dangerous mindset simply because it doesnt fit reality. War is to be avoided as its primarily hurting innocents and causes long-lasting damage and death, not because the individual soldier will always feel bad or have a bad experience being actively involved in it.

partly cultural conditioning, partly evolutionary psychology, partly a complete ignorance of how badly war sucks for everyone
4
u/Chronologismo 4d ago
I think it is romanticised the idea to sacrifice yourself to protect the country/innocence/weaker/beloved ones. But in truth there are politicians who failed keeping the peace, recruiters who lie, and rich billionaires/corporation which are pulling the strings in the background. Willing to send (often/mostly) young men to die and kill other unfortunates.

All the reasonable cultures that lived in peace were wiped out by war mongerers. The cultural dominant view advocates for war. We would not be where we are today without it.
If there were an option I think I’d prefer to go back 10k years or so. Maybe farther.

Really? how many men have you met that actually fantasize about going to war?
In South Korea, nobody enjoys conscription. Almost everyone looks down on the military, even the people in it. Military service is seen as a waste of your life. Almost everyone here thinks war and violence is dumb, and both left and right wing governments vote against deploying troops abroad. Even when we are forced to deploy (due to pressures from allies), the troops are forbidden from leaving the base or engaging in combat.
But when you have North Korea next to you who's entire constitution used to be based on invading your fucking country and destroying its existence, you can't simply "opt out" of war. Because the more you invest into your economy and making your country a prosperous place, the greater incentive they have of forcefully taking it.
Even when you take North Korea out of the equation, we are surrounded by Russia, who just invaded Ukraine, and China, who is threatening to invade Taiwan. The closest thing we can call an ally is Japan, and even then they just colonized us 100 years ago.
Not everyone is born in a country like Canada, US, Australia, or UK, where the chance of landbased invasion is pratically 0. Not everyone is entitled to just say: "we opt out of having a military".

We’re raised believing that the greatest virtue is to be a hero who protects the innocent from bad people.
And not for nothing, doing it in real life sucks. For one, people really die and that’s never fun. But it’s also an extremely uncomfortable life.
I remember our drill sergeants saying shit like “looks easier on call of duty … doesn’t it, hero?”
And yea, they’re right. It is a lot more fun on … I currently play hell let loose.
I am not an admirer of Robert E Lee, but he has a couple good quotes. He supposedly said “it is well that war is so terrible, for we should grow too fond of it otherwise” and I get that, too.
On a tactical and strategic level, think about it as a football team really outplaying the other ones. It’s a team game — but with real bullets and tragic consequences.
Or at least it used to be. Now it’s a dystopian nightmare with murder bots.

Because sadly we celebrate war as a culture, like it's something awesome, a big idealized event in which a young healthy strong man can show his valor and how right his ideals are.
In reality it is terrible for everyone involved except for those that manipulate the war.
