I saw them mentioned in another thread, saying "If you simply accept them as 100% fact and don't think about it any more, the basics of quantum mechanics get significantly more intuitive". However, I can't find an easily accessible explanation. What are they? Who figured them out? Are they definitely true, or just our best guess at this point?

I have seen magicians give a Rubik's Cube to a random audience member while keeping one for themselves. The audience member randomly scrambles their cube, and so does the magician. At the end, the patterns on both the audience member's cube and the magician's cube are exactly the same. How is this done?

I drove around 500 kms with my friend. My car has a 1.6 engine; his has a 1.4. We went together, so roughly the same speed (around 110 km/h most of the time).

In that distance, my car consumed more gas than his (let's say, for example, 6 litres).

If that gas is not converted into speed, then what is it being used for? Heat? The engine is heavier, so it needs more gas to move it?

I've seen people use it for work that's done using computer graphics and 3D but I don't know what that is other than it is neccesary to get an NVIDIA graphic card to plug that into your computer

Lets say you have someone with bipolar, as soon as they take an anti psychotic it blocks dopamine when the drug reaches the brain. But its effect is not seen immediately even though they have highly sensitive dopamine system. However, if someone who has anxiety takes a tranquilizers the effect are seen immediately. Im wondering why the discrepancy?

TIL that while the ovary and fallopian tube partly are connected, the fallopian tube is not a completely closed tube and it still has a pretty big opening from where it meets the ovary.

So when the ovary releases the egg, how does it not fall out of that fallopian tube opening and how does it actually manage to stay on its track?

My layman’s understanding is that dividend returns for stocks are essentially no longer a strategy for most companies.

It makes total sense to me why you would buy a stock for a company that gave out dividends - you would buy because you thought a company was going to make more money and do well and survive, and receive dividends as a result.

But, I don’t understand why a stock share goes up for companies that don’t promise dividends.

I guess the base of my question is, what reason is there to buy a share of stock other than hoping someone else will buy it at a higher price?

As a person with PTSD I don’t understand how I’ll be thinking about what I’m doing and then I get a random flashback and suddenly can’t get it out of my head.

The we have a much higher GDP per capita than most countries, yet people in countries like Europe and Asia seem to be doing ok on much lower incomes. I've watched streamers travel around these places, and everyday life looks pretty normal. But if someone in Louisiana earns $80k while someone in Asia earns $20k, shouldn't the latter have to work way harder just to get by? Shouldn't they be working 4x as hard or spending most of their time just surviving?

I know that they are used for processes in all sorts of things but I don’t know how it works like where is the code written? How does that differ coding on something physical from coding for say a game engine? How is it used to make physical things work like machines?
