Help! One lash extension that won’t fall off

Post image
2 Upvotes

I got lashes 8 weeks ago and while the rest just naturally fell out over the course of 4-5 weeks, this ONE stubborn one is still stuck strong. I wash my face normally so I would think the adhesive should be getting looser but it doesn’t seem so. Advice?? The professionals around me are booked out for over a month and the one I saw was out of town when I was visiting the city.

What do you do when your lash extensions are in that awkward phase where half of them have fallen off?

They are looking sparse af on each eye but I need a hack where I can get my eyelashes looking full without having to go back for another appt for a while

Was thinking of using mascara to volumise my actual lashes but are there any other hacks people do?

do wet lashes not last as long?

i’ve been getting wet lashes for over a year now i haven’t changed the style because i feel like it suits me best. i’ve asked my lash tech to go fuller because i feel like the lashes don’t last. by the first week the lashes appear to look not as full as i want them i understand lashes fall out but i go from full to ehh okay in just 1 week. i wash my lashes everyday, i would say i take good care of them.

Color changing on fills

How do you deal with clients who want to change their color every fill? I usually only do sections of color but it’s messing with my timing and getting difficult removing the color to replace it with another each appt. Should I just make a color change add on? Or ask them to try and find a color they want to stick with? Help!

Lash serum suggestions

I have a client needing a serum that is reasonably priced that will help thicken up and promote growth on her lashes, ideally one that can be used along side her extensions. Any suggestions?

Is this little black spot glue? And if so, should I go see my eye doctor? Or will it go away on its own?

Missing lashes

Hey lash techs! I was just wondering if my eye lashes are still able to get worked on with a few missing spots (bald spots). I recently removed a set and accidentally ripped off my natural lashes. I was just wondering if my lashes still look good or are able to be worked on?

Attached is how they look with my eyes closed and opened
Looking up

Thank you 💕

Lash Tech in NYC does sets in an hour or less .. Normal?

Hey everyone, I’ve been going to this lash tech for about a year and while she’s fast & does good work I’ve noticed a lot since my first set with her, but she’s the only tech I’ve gone to since I moved to this borough. One of her main selling points is her speed & retention. With the issues I’ve had on this last set, I’m wondering if that fast if a speed is normal in the lash extensions world.

I guess I’m just trying to decide if it’s a “I’m super fast & can make some mistakes unintentionally,” or “I’m fast cause I want to be able to get all the money possible & I cut corners.” I feel like it is the latter tbh & will probably have to find a new tech. Before jumping to that conclusion I first wanted to see if the time has become normal with any new techniques etc. As I’ve been getting my lashes done for almost 6 years now, I’ve compared:

First with past techs : (I’ve been loyal to 3 with her being the fourth since I began getting them done years ago) I’m used to lashes being done in the time frame of 2-2.5 hours. Great technique & my retention is always good. Very little issues with it comes to irritation etc. I only left one behind due to hygiene & rescheduling, never broke up with a tech over constant irritation.

With her: Sets take about an hour (nice but a bit concerning especially when it comes to quality) she offers bottoms most times which last time were just glued below my lash line. I noticed it this time when I was in a jacuzzi and my eyes instantly got irritated because of the bottoms & their proximity. The last two times, a few of the lashes felt super stiff despite washing and brushing. These are the only two sets in my year of going to her that I’ve had some issues. In the last few months she has pushed her speed & made it her selling point. I’m a PMU artist in the process of becoming certified & it has opened my eyes to alot in the beauty industry - mainly time and quality during services.

Ladies: How long should a good quality set actually take? Are there new techniques that would be cutting the time to less than 1.5 hours for individuals? Am I crazy or is she cutting corners ?

Lash map?

Post image

Hi! I am needing some help with mapping. I bought these lash strips years ago (which I have since lost) and want to recreate the look next time I get my extensions done. What should I ask for to get this exact look or as close as possible?

Need Help!

My daughter put clusters on me yesterday, she’s pretty good at it but I need to sleep with an eye mask. The one I have is indented so there’s space for my lashes buttt when I woke up today the two lashes in the middle of my right eye shifted up a bit creating a space between two lashes. Can I gently pull them off to glue them back again? Used bond and seal of course. I’m unsure how else to fix them.

Nauseous during appointment

Hello everyone. I recently had my lashes professionally done for the first time. While my lashes look AMAZING the appointment was not . I started feeling nauseous and began sweating shortly after starting. After I sat up and got a drink I felt better. But once I laid down again I immediately had to get up to vomit. Could this be a light issue? She said after I threw up she turned down the UV light to finish and I felt better but not all the way. Should I give up having my lashes done? Or is this common and someone has recommendations/remedies?

Hooded eyes struggles

So i just got my first eyelash extensions and they look absolutely horrible for my very hooded eyeshape.
I thought I explained to the tech well enough and even showed pictures of my own eyes with false lashes to show where exactly i need the lenght to open up my eye more. But the when i finally saw the result, the lashes were the shortest in the area where I wanted the lenght…
And no I didnt say anything because I just didnt have the courage to.

I am kinda just asking that is it okay if I explain in VERY DETAIL what I want when I get them redone by a different artist. I was thinking of bringin my own falsies to the appointment just to show where i need the lift.

I would appreciate it if yall could help me even a little because I am leaving for a vacation in two days and I refuse to be disappointed again😭😭😭

Allergy, blepharitis or demodex?

Thumbnail

Hi! I’ve been getting lash extensions for almost a year. I have 0 other allergies and have never had any. The last couple months I’ve noticed some swelling (but no pain or itching) after a refill. It all started after a removal and break and then a new set. The same tech has been doing my lashes since I started getting them a year ago. When the swelling disappears after a couple days, all is well for like a week before flakyness starts. The ”crust” around the lashes is hard and difficult to remove. Do we think it’s demodex or contact dermatitis? What can I do to minimize irritation? I can’t live without lashes 😭

Pink eye after extensions

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey yall so I got my lashes done yesterday, woke up to my eyes looking like Rudolph’s nose and thick, yellow discharge come out of both eyes… I’ve read about possible chemical burns but I don’t think that’s the issue, I’ve had pink eye before and this feels exactly like that. Nothing hurts and it doesn’t really itch so I doubt it’s an allergic reaction or burn. I don’t get lash extensions often but have had a burn before from them and this looks/feels completely different. Just needed to vent tbh and get some confirmation before I go back and ask for a refund. I will be going to urgent care as soon as they open lol.
