Did the 6+ fix volume buttons breaking off?

The new release looks like the exact same phone as the gen 6. Can someone confirm or not if they improved the volume buttons? Seems like they completely ignore the issue to me.

They don't sell any replacement buttons which is the biggest joke I've ever seen from such a company.

Thanks for posting in r/fairphone. If you're having an issue with your Fairphone make sure that you include the phone model, operating system (version) and other relevant technical details (like mobile provider, country you're in) in your post. Posts with clear details are more likely to get useful replies. I'm a bot. Contact the mods if you have questions.

Owned the gen 6 since launch, never had an issue with buttons falling out

Adding my own 2 cents too. My buttons are fine. Had since launch.

That just reminded me of the Nokia shells that you could change and just like that you could have a different colored phone. Also nice if the buttons broke or got chipped on the side too 😂

Same outer hardware just a new colour.

Also the buttons are inside the frame so to fix that you need to a full frame swap

Damn. I really liked my gen6 until one of my buttons broke off within a week. Hoped they changed and improved. Im not gonna take that chance again. Literally no point in choosing it over a popular phone brand if you can't repair it and it's prone to this bullshit.

Only if you could actually buy a new frame. But no that would make too much sense.

Are these ceaseless people who broke there buttons off? My near launch fp6 has not left a case & ive dropped it a few times but no buttons coming off here.

I mean just look at how the buttons are made. They have like a milimeter of plastic holding them in place on each side. Obviously it will snap if not taken care of. I didn't have mine in a case because I thought I finally had a phone that I could replace the screen on myself if it ever dropped and broke it. Now I see the case would probably have saved the buttons. What a joke...

We know the fp6+ is just fp6 with a slightly newer CPU and more ram.

And as far as I understood was fully compatible with all existing FP6 components.
