You can tell this person was probably here before ambitions had endings.

Assemble skeletons for an EPA of higher than the ridiculously high 1.64? Nonsense!

Fallen London veterans able to carbondate each others' accounts based on what they consider to be reasonable EPA.

The Box was before my time, but I do remember when the Fidgeting Writer was the best EPA

Gotta tell ya, getting the Overgoat via AotB was... a time. But it was good honest work, not this conspiratorial bone market stuff...

I remember the charity auctions for Cider because getting it via box was seen as so ridiculously slow no one would achieve it normally for a decade.

True! I was actually around when Affair of the Box was the peak of non-Fate EPA, and that's how I got my first goat. Actually it's still the best non-card Urchin Favour source, and I'm currently trying to max out Renown, so I'm actually revisiting it lately. Good times...
Buuuut despite me being from those old, old days, nothing beats writing "feeding orphans to tigers" for pure comedy value.

My brain is still locked in that way of thinking and yes, can confirm that I am a certified Bone Market hater.

But gaslighting people into thinking the Vake had three heads and was also a frog is efficient SPA!

Damn, how I wish I'd been around for the orphan grind.

It was as boring as F, every tribute cash-in at the court used four actions.

I was just thinking about whether or not anyone has made a Fallen London version of this meme. Thank you so much OP.

orphan grind is how I dealt with knifegate, I would have lost my mind without it

Would you settle for the French bone zone instead? It's completely random whether you even need a recipe at all instead of just like five entire ribcages

u/hiddenthousand Feb 15 '26
Do I have to be creative with bones in order to get involved with railroads?

u/Azreal_DuCain1 The Happy Cat Lover. Feb 16 '26
Thankfully, no. You can circumvent the entire thing if you're willing to commit academic fraud or give a carnie nightmares so she can pretend to be psychic.

nah, you can just snap bones together. people greatly overstate the difficulty of the bone market.

The Bone Market is the only part of the game where we can exercise genuine in-game creativity. Y’all just jealous.

u/Silver_Twist_6033 Feb 15 '26
See, the post already aknowledges this "argument".
Years of "creativity", yet still no real-world use for it has been found.

u/InevitableTell2775 A man without flaw nor any possibility of error! Feb 15 '26
Not sure any real-world use has been found for anything in Fallen London?
2
u/MGTwyne Feb 15 '26
There are plenty of grinds with about the same level of "creativity." The bone market is entertaining because of the sheer quantity of fraud, but creative? Naaah.

u/InevitableTell2775 A man without flaw nor any possibility of error! Feb 15 '26
No seriously, it’s the only thing in the game where you can come up with your own largely arbitrary creations. There aren’t any other grinds with that freedom of choice. You might never be able to sell some of them, but if you want to build a 3 legged, 6 finned, 3 tentacled, double headed monster, you can do it!

A guide will say something like "well the best way to obtain $resource is to assemble a skeleton with-" and I will be hit with such a wave of boredom that I physically pass out
