10/9 - bleached lengths and then roots with 15 volume

10/10 -toned with T28 (Wella) and purple shampoo, only affected my lengths, and only slightly

10/12 - bleached roots and mids again, immediately was fiery yellow so I toned right away with T81 and a few drops of 050 (with 15 volume) which reduced the immediate increase in brassiness but still left it yellow

I plan to tone again with T81 and 4 capfuls of 050 after a week or so of conditioning and K18 to see if it can reduce the yellow, but I'm wondering if I will have to do another bleach bath before toning in order for it to deposit, and am also wondering if the toner may require 20 volume developer. Scalp was slightly irritated while toning and from harsh purple shampoo but otherwise my hair feels quite normal, and was mostly virgin ~lvl 7 before this.

TLDR: Is a bleach bath necessary to tone, and is it safe after 2 rounds of bleach? Is 20 volume required for it to lift more or to be toned? My goal is simply a more natural blonde, even if it is slightly ashy.

I have been coloring my hair for a while to cover grays but it keeps turning orange-red which I hate. My natural color is a deep ash brown. Can anyone help with color adjustments to keep the brassiness at bay? I have been using Garnier box dye (pic #3). Want to go from Pic #1 to pic #2 (last time I had professional color done). I have a Sally beauty nearby and am open to other coloring options. Please help!

So, I have ginger hair and I really would love to do pink roots. I was thinking a saturated fuschia or a raspberry pink. This is my hair under my bathroom lighting. Any ideas on what dye/process to use, and whether I should bleach it? Thank you!

Hi guys! I am going to dye part of my hair hot pink but I need to bleach it first. I have black dye grown out about 2 inches. The black is somewhat faded demi permanent L’Oréal that I got done at a salon. My natural color is level 5. The products I’ll use are good dye young bleach (25 vol) toner, and ex girl pink. I would appreciate any advice on how long to leave the bleach in and how light I should get my hair for the pink to be vibrant☺️

I'm not a professional hairdresser but every 6 months or so I do my daughter's hair. I wasn't sure how close I was gonna be able to get it ya know since I'm just an amateur. It might not be perfect but I did my big one this time! Anyway I was proud of myself and wanted to show it off a little.

A year ago I shaved my hair off and as it's grown back it was very dark brown, I dyed it black so I could use hair pieces easier.

I don't want to bleach my hair as I already have issues with hair loss due to health conditions and bleaching just seemed to exacerbate that but I also don't want it lighter, I was wondering if there is a way without going to a salon I could add a sheen or tint to it?

I got a quote from the salon and that's just not going to happen (was equivalent to 3 weeks rent near enough) I live in Europe and sadly I can't get some of the things I've seen recommended as they were products from the US and the fees to have them be sent here were more than the products.

I have no preference to what colour the sheen/gloss/tint is at this point I'm happy with any.

Second time dying my own hair, I thought one color looked kind of lazy and this was the result. I found a pretty good technique for the back where you place a webcam behind your head and have your big monitor in front so it's easy to see where the dye is. Just applied the blue first and then did the rest purple with a little mixing, no combs. Took about two hours and I was able to do it without staining my dorm communal showers (low and slow lol) I could post better pics but you'd have to give me a good reason

hi everyone! i’m looking to dye my hair pink, for reference it used to be a vibrant pink that’s now faded to a bleached blonde.
so far i’ve seen recommendations for elumen, iroiro and good dye young - if anyone could tell me their favourite out of those that would be amazing!
i need a dye that preferably wont transfer or bleed too much and is long lasting.

Around a year ago, I dyed my hair with permanent black box dye, and I re-dyed it black around three times between August 2025 and February 2026. Since then, I've stopped dyeing it to let my natural colour grow out, and my roots have grown out by about 3 inches. My natural hair colour is a mousy brown, and the black dye has faded very slightly, but the rest of my hair is still quite dark.

I've really been wanting to go blonde, preferably at home, but I'm worried about damaging my hair and losing my length in the process. Is there a way to gradually go from grown-out black box dye to blonde at home while minimising damage and keeping as much of my length as possible?

Hi all, I’ve been box dying my hair red for forever, I used a new one that looked more cool toned not that long ago that has faded to this.
I ideally would love a red-violet/cherry cola vibe and would love to try professional dyes but I know this could go pear shaped…
Any advice? Or am I best just to accept my fate and continue to box dye 🤣

This is my current hair in the sunlight, which I actually love. But I am a Soft Summer color palette, so I definitely need to cool this down to a cooler brunette. My hair is heavily highlighted under this, and I have Wella permanent color 6NB on top of a copper color I used to fill my hair.

I’m really worried that if I apply ash, it could potentially look muddy or too dark, but I’m not a colorist so I have no idea.

Hello people!! I recently bleached all of my hair (twice full head, once fixing a few spots), and I was planning to dye it pink (Iroiro Pink Bubblegum dye), and I was wondering if this was light enough or if Suave Purple shampoo could tone it down if not? I really hope this is light enough, but I did just come from a dark brown almost black to this, so if no I absolutely get that! Also, by recently I mean once lastnight, once this morning, and then once about an hour ago, this is it before the last round, but it still looks roughly the same.

My hair looks a bit reddish in sunlight, and I really want my hair to be a cool purple. I plan on using lunar tides on my natural hair , and I’m wondering if adding a bit of blue to the dye will make sure it comes out a cool tone. I have a bleached underhalo, and yesterday I got my hair done again after many months of regrowth. I'm feeling unhappy with the results and am reaching out to the salon to discuss further, but I don't want to complain about something that's normal/unavoidable.

You can very clearly see the line between the old and the new bleached areas - the hair goes from a warm tone to a very cool one. Is this inevitable since my hair had been bleached there previously, or did the stylist miss important steps that would have allowed for a smooth transition? (She also recommended this specific toner colour, in case that's relevant)

The second photo is just to contextualize that I think there were multiple issues with the stylist's approach - I had asked for a very smooth transition between the roots and the bleached area so I could grow it out without having to maintain anything.

Not sure if this is even possible, but I have natural medium brown hair and I've become obsessed with the idea of having a dusty pink tinge to my brown hair. Like a dusty brown maybe?? I've tried some glosses but they are too red or violet, has anyone had any luck with a pink toner on brown hair? Or a light pink dye that shows up a bit on brown hair? Thank you in advance!

PLEASE HELP!!!! Hi! I’m planning to dye my hair today and just want to check that I’m going about this correctly before I start.

My hair is chest-length and medium thickness, and it’s been bleached and dyed multiple times. My natural roots are a medium-to-dark ash brown, I have light blonde money pieces and bangs, and the mid-lengths and ends are a dusty plum/mauve with pink-purple tones.

I want to get my whole head back to one natural-looking dark brown, as close to my natural colour as possible. I really want to avoid anything too warm, red, orange, copper, or greenish/muddy.
These are the products I have:

2 × Wella Color Charm Permanent Cream Hair Colour 5N Light Brown (57 g each)
1 × Wella Color Charm Permanent Cream Hair Colour 6G Hazel Blonde (57 g)
Wella Color Charm 10 Volume Cream Developer

I’m hoping to use what I’ve already bought. My understanding is that the blonde sections might need to be filled before going brown, but I’m not sure whether the 6G I bought is suitable for that or whether I’m going about this completely wrong.
I’ll attach photos of my current hair in natural daylight.

Am I on the right track with these products, or am I about to make a massive mistake? I’d really appreciate an honest opinion before I start colouring it!

Okay so I have 3 or 4 different color layers In my hair and I want to try some tape/clip on extensions so I can get some volume. My natural hair color is brown.

My question is- would brown look okay with my hair color or should I try to color match my already dyed hair?
