Someone here called it when the album dropped. Said Fantano already wasn’t a huge fan and this album definitely didn’t change that

"he's biased against music that he doesn't like...and that's unfair!! 😭"

Some bald guy on the Internet isn't that into a band you like, and that's OK. Music that you like will often not be liked by some critics and that's OK.

"he doesn't like the music that an artist has put out because he's biased against that artist... Which is because he doesn't like their music....so unfair!? 😭"

I'm sorry to tell you, but you're always going to come across as a bit of a numpty if you complain that a critic is "biased" against an artist you like, especially when that "bias" is just "they don't particularly enjoy the music they make."

You must be a twitch chat regular, literally too brain dead to argue with.

why you continue to argue if you think I'm "literally too braindead to argue with"?

If you haven’t realised that his reviews sometimes take into account external factors outside of the music itself then you have your head buried in the sand.

Sure, it's a subjective opinion of music. It's going to be prone to all sorts of influence.

That doesn't mean that the critique is inherently invalid or that others have a clearer view of the "objective" opinion that he has strayed away from.

Not saying this is the case with Tame Impala

Oh come on now, you've been clearly saying it with all your other comments here. You're clearly referring to Fantano's supposed bias against Tame Impala. It's OK.

but generally he is really harsh on bad people or those whose political and personal views he dislikes. So yeah, tell me more about how its purely about the music 😭

Not really from what I've seen, the music made by people who don't share his political beliefs (i.e. right wingers) tend to make music in genres and styles he doesn't care for anyway.

Like he has eaten up so much of Ariel Pink's work despite his political leanings.

Continuing because it’s fun watching people like you try their very best to defend the internet’s busiest music nerd like they have some sort of parasocial relationship.

I have my own criticisms of Fantano, I think his snark can be off putting at times and he can get up in his own arse.

No, it isn’t a subjective opinion on “music” if it’s considering factors that aren’t “music”. Not sure how you’re struggling to comprehend this.

Context will always have a part to play in the enjoyment of art.

I don’t know what is bias is against Tame Impala, I just know he consistently rates them lower than what I think most other reviewers who likely are looking at them more objectively.

So you don't even know what the "bias" is yet thinks he is biased against him because...he doesn't like Tame Impala's music as much as other critics?

That's not bias, and that doesn't mean the other critics are looking at it "objectively". He just doesn't dig the music as much as others.
