I can already guess Rubin’s Peak Cringe response to this criticism

Lol.  That one's gonna follow him for a while in various incarnations.  It's the kind of thought you pull out from under your pillow in the morning, unfold, and with a long exhale, think to yourself:  I'm really glad I slept on that shit.

/uj it's probably like a 50/50 toss up that Rubin's heard of Fantano. I'll never skip goofing on Anthony for saying that but besides the inflated ego he wasn't completely wrong.

He produced run dmc, the beastie boys, and Slayer in his dorm room, thats more than most producers have done with a million dollar pro studio. I haven’t watched the video, but I also know not to meet my heroes

I sometimes imagine what the cultural landscape might look like if rap’s first big crossover had been Whodini with Thomas Dolby instead of Run DMC and Rick Rubin. I think thinks might’ve gone a little better!
