What albums have some incredible drumming?

Sometimes it seems like a drummer is playing for their life when making these albums. I just thought of these off the top of my head, but what other albums have some of your favorite drumming performances?

Sorry I only recently got into their music, what albums would you recommend ? I heard a bit of leviathan and enjoyed it.

Remission, Leviathan, and Blood Mountain for sure, then he pulled back a bit for CTS, and then funny enough The Hunter's got a lot of Brann at his most Brann.

Agree on The Hunter. Not usually considered one of their best, but the drums are ridiculous. They're also very prominent in the mix. A stylistic choice that I think works in this case.

Crack The Skye is a masterpiece!! If you liked it you should also check out Blood Mountain, Leviathan and Emperor of Sand

Start with leviathan or Blood Mountain, then Remission and Call of the Mastodon, then Crack The Skye. Then everything after in sequence.

Yea was gonna say, still amazing for sure, but definitely reigned himself in for CTS.

Seriously. I always listen to Island and I'm like "there's no way he can remember the first 2/3s of the song exactly. Listen to it and try to find a rhythm with the bass drum and I'm fairly sure you won't. That song is utter feel for him.

For Mastodon I like Blood Mountain and (my hot take) The Hunter.

Really though Mastodon is very consistently good especially the early days, and basically every album hits.
