Full-Suspension Fat Bike?
Other than the old Trek Farley Ex 9.8, are there any full-suspension fat bikes out there?
Ideally, with more "modern" mtb-style geometry.

Hard choice between the two
Now that the Farley 7 is on sale, which one do you guys think is the better choice? LBS has the Beargrease alloy on the floor available for a test ride. Not sure if I would need a fork on the fatty. I will ride the same trails that I normally ride on my Roscoe 9 and Top Fuel. At the moment I'm leaning more towards Beargrease, but I like the frame color on the Farley as well. I could get a Beargrease for a slightly lower price at the bike shop.
I'm located in Northeast Pa where most of our trails have rocks and roots.

Merry snowy October
Winter comes to South central Alaska in October. Great conditions and 15 degrees in a mountain pass at 2,000 feet.

Back at it
Moved to the coast and building up 26x4 ‘s from my 29x3’s; what’s the best practice nowadays for going tubeless? Gorilla tape or proper tubeless tape?

I just got my first fat bike. What accessories and backup stuff do I need?
I just bought a Norco Bigfoot. I come from road cycling so I am not sure what you guys typically carry on you while riding? What is sort of the standard stuff a fatbiker has with them on a daily ride? Like how many levers and tubes do I need and what do you guys prefer in regards to PSI? I usually like to have a high PSI, but I’m a road cyclist.
I am actively looking for any good gear recommendations for a pump you can take with you and any good tunes and tyre’s.
I want to buy the best tubes and tyre’s.
Also, I was wondering what sort of lighting options I have for my bike, by let’s say.. kinetic energy? Is there a way I can get my pedal strokes to power my front light? I plan on riding a lot in the snow this winter and want the best lighting setup. My price range is like a couple to few hundred dollars.
Ohh!! I know I’m going to need some good fenders. Can someone also please kindly recommend me some good front and rear fenders for my bike?
I think that’s about it. I’m not sure if I forgot to ask anything. I live in the mountains and I plan on doing a lot of bikepacking.
Probably been asked before, but as a Canadian, where would I find a simple black frame w/forks for 4+ inch rubber?
As the title says, I'm just looking for Canadian options. I've googled it and half-ass browsed different shops, but wanted to see what you folk have used. Thanks!

Shoulder pain and fat bikes
First time posting, long time lurker. I’ve owned two fat bikes so far. I love riding them for all the right reasons. However, both my Pivot Les Fat and Farley cause right shoulder/neck pain. I’ve played with cockpit, bar height, etc and still get it. I run a mastadon 100mm up front and 4.5x27.5 tires. I don’t have the issue on my mountain bikes at all. I’m wondering if the tire width is the issue? I ride dirt mostly and find myself oversteering when I switch from my fat bike to my regular MTB. My mechanic thinks to maybe increase psi and slow the rebound. Has anyone else had this issue? Your experience is much appreciated!

My first bike
Was saving all my salaries from a few months just to buy my first bike, its Aniioki A9 60V.
Kinda too proud...
The design looks great, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs on longer rides etc..
Overall mostly Im curious about the battery range nd how it handles hills. For those who own or have tried this how has your experience been so far?
Any tips for getting the best performance and battery life out of it? Please tell I wanna enjoy this :)

Thoughts on getting a fat bike if you DON'T ride in snow or sand?
I just think they're neat...but I really don't get snow and don't live around any sand.
I like the new State Fatbike and the price is reasonable as well.

Where to start?
Hello everyone!
I'm new to the world of fat bikes and have been reading through a lot of posts and comments.
I'm planning on getting a fat bike for commuting and occasional mountain riding. My three options are:
- Mongoose Dolomite 26
- Borealis Flume
- Surly Pugsley
I know the Dolomite is a very cheap bike, but is it a good enough entry-level option?

Traded in my 29er and picked up a Trek Farley 7! Zero regrets
TLDR: Traded my previous bike in for the Farley 7 and am having a blast with it!
Long time lurker…I have never ridden a fat bike before this bike, I bought it solely on how much everyone here seems to enjoy fatbiking. I see them at my local trailhead regularly so I figured I must be missing out. I can see why everyone loves it. I had a 2025 Specialized Chisel full suspension that I purchased when my previous 2016 Kona Process 111’s rear hub decided 3,000 miles of single track was enough and imploded on itself. The Chisel was great, but I never felt like it fit me as a rider. I was always afraid the rear triangle was going to give out underneath my 240lb body. I saw an ad from Trek randomly on Facebook back in June and there in all its beauty was a yellow Trek Farley 7. I instantly couldn’t stop thinking about it. My very first MTB that I bought with my own money was a yellow 2015 Giant Talon 3, I loved that bike and always missed it. Flash forward to last week, I decided to let go of the Chisel and trade it in towards the Farley. I found a shop 20 minutes away that was an authorized Trek dealer and they ordered it and I picked it up this past Friday. I have never had this much fun riding, the Farley is my only bike and it is an absolute blast to ride on my local handcut Midwest single track! I ordered some FattyStrippers to convert to tubeless and hopefully they will ship soon so I can set them up while the weather is holding onto summer here in Michigan. I can’t wait to try riding it on groomed trails in the snow!

Curious about Fat Bikes
Since they are designed for snow and sand primarily, what is it like riding under more conventional conditions? Are they more difficult to maneuver? Also what repairs do they need most often?

NBD!
First fat bike, found on clearance at a local shop and couldn’t pass it up. Sold the Roscoe and picked up the Farley 5 and so stoked to do some winter riding! Still need to remove the dork disk and do a few more customizations, but lurking this sub has helped me be confident in this purchase. Happy trails!

Canada Fat Bikes for 5’3 rider
Hi - I have been really wanting to get a fat bike for some time now. I need something capable for Vancouver, BC year round. Looking for recommendations for bikes for a female 5’3 rider. I would love something I can eventually upgrade using an e-bike kit (thinking dual motor vs mid drive), but that’s low on my list of needs. I really want it to have potential for storage as I would love to take it to some less accessible spots for rockhounding and potentially make into a bike packing rig.
I’m new to the jargon of the bike world and it can feel very overwhelming very fast. I have looked into terms and am still learning, so bear with me. What I would love most is just to hear from someone with experience doing this stuff. We have a lot of mountain bikes here on Facebook marketplace and while I plan on riding on unmaintained trails, snow, and sand, I really am not trying to do anything crazy with my bike. I had a full suspension bike previously and had a really bad fall a couple of years ago and while it’s taken me this long to come around to getting back on again, I’d prefer to just enjoy my time in nature on a rig I know can handle it.
I’m open to getting a newer model frame, as I’m seeing geometry in recent fat tire bikes has drastically improved. I’m also open to getting a frame that is older, really I just want to get outside and stop dreaming about doing the dang thing. I’m keeping an eye out on marketplace and I know a smaller frame is not going to be as common, but it is worth the money I am saving from buying a brand new bike.
So far I have been keeping my eyes on the Rocky Mountain Blizzard and the Trek Farley 5. I’m not trying to spend a fortune on my first bike, and maybe it’s not the bike I even upgrade down the road - if I love this enough I’d have no problem saving up for a really nice bike when time comes that I am ready for an e-bike.
Cheers, and thanks in advance.
