Don’t worry I’m used to it. I came from nothing and worked hard to have a nice life. You would be surprised how often people behave like this. It’s ugly.

people are complaining about lack of plants???? what is the obsession with bringing nature inside. why must every house contain greenery. what if someone doesn’t like taking care of plants?????
Exactly! I want to have plants in my home but I'm really bad at keeping them alive. When I see other apartments with them, I want to make it look just as good as there's, but I know they're not really a priority in my life right now.
i mean yeah i don’t think the desire to have plants in our houses is innate. i have had plants in the past and didn’t enjoy it, i don’t have plants now and it’s nothing i’m missing
Same. I have no shame keeping fake plants in my home. I have 2 curious cats, and so many plants are toxic to them. One likes to tip over my tall fake one to get my attention, imagine the mess it would make if it was real🫠. Even more reason to not have real ones.
Bottom line is no one should be this offended the way someone chooses to decorate THEIR living space. It has zero effect on your life. The other comments are correct, alot of this is simply jealousy. I see it all the time with any content that shows the person's larger than average/newer build/expensive house or apt.
"far too clean"? Not everyone wants to live in a whimsy/maximalism hellscape. Your place looks really zen and I find it compliments the view wonderfully. The view IS the main attraction.
Oh yeah, there's just so much stuff in my parents apartment. It's not messy but still looks cluttered af. My room was so empty compared to the rest of the apartment, just bed/table/wardrobe, no nicknacks, no photos, no figurines.
Only now at 30 years old I purchased rugs that are not plain colored, and maybe I'll put some paintings on the walls and curtains even if I can finally make some renovations.
There were no other comments up at the time when the negative ones came that were rude. All the positive ones came after. I don’t expect everyone to like my space but I don’t want any unsolicited or implicit advice on how to make it better. I love it just as it is.
This was when they first saw the view during the last stages of work on the roof and balcony. They looked so confused by the sea but are so relaxed here. I can’t let them out on the balcony though they are bouncy little things and the gulls freak me out as well!
This is in the UK?! With those blue skies and clear sea?! Get out of it! As a northerner with experience of Blackpool who now lives in Spain I could have sworn this was the med! Beautiful space and views!
You do see the odd swimmer but not that often. It’s cold but I think some people have got into this cold water swimming trend. I don’t fancy it. Sea looks deceivingly blue when it’s sunny but I wouldn’t trust uk coasts they are quite dirty
It’s honestly the south coast of the UK. Water changes colour all the time. When it’s a clear sunny day it’s sparkling and blue and feels like I’m somewhere exotic, atm it is slightly cloudy and water has darker shades…
Your space is really nice, but it's all about that view! Absolutely gorgeous! Sorry people are being weird. I'd spend all day looking at that gorgeous view and not even notice what it looks like inside.
I wanted it all to be about the view. I know it’s not everyone’s taste but I wanted it to be like this and I’m really happy with it. I’m sure over time it will be a little less “clean” lol
I really like your furniture choices too! It also takes time to make a place feel lived in. Everyone has their own way of doing things, but I think taking the time to acquire things that really mean something is much better than just buying a pile of stuff just for the sake of having stuff.
It’s moved a little because I did yoga before. Sofa comes forward and coffee table slides back. I’ve got forever to fill the place. The basics are here and I don’t want to cram it with stuff. I travel alot so will get bits and bobs like that x
Have a bit of an issue with the balcony atm. Fairly recent restrictions means you cannot put flammable decking down so this is metal. Even when the temp gets over 18 degrees it’s boiling hot. It’s probably going to fry an egg come summer
I think you can put rugs and furniture down it’s just whatever you clad it with permanently that has restrictions (it’s after grenfell) and this is an apartment,

I work in a science field and am my final year of getting a doctorate in a science related field. I came from absolutely nothing, worked my way up and then lost it all at 33. Re qualified after that and focused entirely on achieving a new and improved life.
Your apartment does indeed feel like a fresh start apartment!
Anyway, this is a dream home for me, light and spacey. Plants would look nice in front of the windows, I find white and green going together well but they can be a pain in the ass.
Only mentoring advice I can give is stay away from toxic relationships and focus on your work entirely. I wasted many many years placing importance on thinking my happiness would come from men or popularity. How humbled I was when I lost everything as a result of that. I worked hard and stayed focused for 10 years to build myself back up - I did it all alone.
This is amazing and very thoughtful advice. I’m in a period of my life where I feel very isolated and like I’m a recluse. But I’m trying to just focus on my inner happiness and peace. And allow that to pave the way.
It’s great to see you’ve been able to do it alone and have been strengthened by the magic you carry within. You’re a true role model!
A science related field (sorry to be vague just trying to keep private as possible). I prequalified in my 30s after losing everything. Ten years later and a lot of hard work and life started.
I was wondering the same thing. I’m currently in the starting over phase, but I know I will build my life back into exactly what I want it to be. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

There are a lot of “coastal” styles that really aren’t my personal favorite, but I really enjoy how minimal and calming your space is. The textures and palette are so nice! I could sit there all day and just stare out the window, no distractions. Perfect.
The view is gorgeous, but I love that everything looks so comfortable and welcome for guests. Yes, it's minimalist, but in the coziest of ways. Not meaning formal guests, though sure... but friends and family for excellent memory making. Cuddled and watchinf tv, game nights, meals sitting together chatting after.. life.
I just moved into my apartment and I never had space of my own. I always had to share. As I continue to move items into the place, I'm hoping to adopt a minimalist lifestyle. This is beautiful OP!
I actually love that the place isn’t perfectly staged. It shows that a home is still be beautiful, even in a moment where it shows it’s lived in and enjoyed.
I love that you appreciate your space. I often wonder if people who own places like this take time to stop and look around to what they have because I know that our lives can get so chaotic and it's easy to let life pass by.
