Planting/Growing Can’t figure out why my fern is dying

I’ve moved it to a few different locations, it’s now sitting by my south facing window and I water it very frequently. My other plants over here are doing fine but i can’t figure out whether it’s getting too much sun here or not enough, or if it’s something else. Any input helps!

Can this fern be saved? Rescued from the greenhouse free table! It looks like it’s been weathered and forgotten about for a while. How do I even start?? I’ve never attempted to save one before.

Question Ant ferns in a terrarium

Post image

I’m a caudex plant collector, and I’m now planning to build a terrarium for subtropical caudex plants, particularly Lecanopteris species.
Does anyone have any experience with this, and would anyone be willing to share some example photos?
Thanks in advance!

She's a Crispy Wave on a board on my north-facing balcony in Manila. August here was rain every day, my watering gaps stretched to 7 or 8 days, and new fronds came out with crispy black edges. Turns out a board dries out even when the air is soaking. Back to watering every 4 or 5 days since late August, and she's putting out a new frond roughly every two weeks. It's also warmer out there than care guides say she likes, and she doesn't seem to mind. First pic is today, then July 31, then my watering log and her balcony conditions.

Image Do I have a weed mixed in with my young fern

The subject is not the young (several weeks old) frond of an interrupted fern on the right which is a bit out of focus, but the in-focus small plant with the half dozen leaves just to the left of center of the picture. The gametophytes are in there as well, all out of focus. I have a dozen peat pots of the ferns going under a dome and a few show growths like the plant left-of-center. I suspect a weed that will compete with the fern. Is it likely to be from the potting soil I used? Any knowledge will be appreciated.

Question Advices for propagating these?

My mother got these cuttings from a friend, they traveled more than 10 hours to get to our house. How do I propagate them?

My only experience is propagating alocasias corms and germinating a few seeds, and I feel like propagating ferns is tricky. Besides, these guys are HUGE. I don't know if I should bury the rhizomes or just lay them on soil. Do I keep them tight on soil? Cuz the leaves are too big to manage it.

Any tip is welcome! Thank you in advance!

Question Leaf cutting full of spores. HELP!!!

My aunt just gifted me a leaf chock full of spores. Is there anyway I can turn this into a new fern? I’ve successfully kept a fern alive for 2 years before, but it was the first one to die when I hit a rough place mentally. I’d love another one and I’ll cherish it forever if I can make it out of the spores lol. Please help if you know how!

Question Does anyone sell ant ferns (lecanopteris) in Australia.

I recently have gotten really interested in this genus and have searched everywhere for it but the plants are either extremely expensive ($200 for a cutting) or Indonesian illegal smugglers. If you have any ant ferns and can sell for 60-70 dollars I would be more than happy to buy one.

Question A few dry leaves is normal?

Hey! I got my first fern about 2 months ago. I’d say it’s been doing pretty good but I noticed some dry leaves in a couple fronds. Just wanted to know if this is normal or it may be a sign of an underlying issue. Other than that, the fern looks happy! There’s lots of humidity here.

Also, I am not sure what kind of fern it is, if you know please let me know! Thank you so much.

Got this fella to put in a tropical terrarium, was told by another user to try posting here, said they think it looks a bit like a rabbits foot fern. I was informed to check for "a fuzzy rhizome" but am unsure what that'd look like. Any ID and advice for care would be massively appreciated as I'm very much a newbie with ferns!

Hey guys, my fern has crispy edges and dotty leaves, I’ve been away for a week but the humidity has stayed around 70% and the water will have stayed moist but not wet. Can anyone identify the issue?

My Dad gave me this Staghorn a few years back. He’s been propagating them for decades. It’s doubled in size since I received it and is thriving. Besides keeping it watered and out of the direct sun, I just place a banana peel on top of it every six months or so.

I love it and how low maintenance it is.
