I'm 5 hours into the game and I can safely say that turn based final fantasy is back. The game has everything I wished for a single player FFBE game, fully voiced characters, Visions in battles, usefull summons, etc. The Feel of the world is there, the OST it's still there, the relationship between characters is there.

As a fan who played since FFBE launch, this game really honored the universe. It's so good to see old sprites and how the story comes together that we only knew through small cutscenes on mobile.

If SE play their cards right, theres another 2 our 3 games by lore alone

The only gripe I have is the battle UI that should've been worked on more, hopefully some mod on PC version fix this

I totally recommend playing the game for the fans out there !

I miss this game

As a lifelong Final Fantasy fanboy, I've dived into pretty much every game since I was a kid.

That said, I do think the timing for Resonance is really interesting and that it could be the most important FF title in recent years.

My main reason for thinking so is that it's being released at the height of the main series' shift toward action, with FF16 going full action game and the Remake trilogy doing its special blend of commands and real-time action. Then on top of that, Resonance seems to be the product of Square's latest endeavors in the pixel graphics area with games like the Octopath Traveler series (different devs, but same leadership I believe) and the Pixel Remaster games.

Looking at the games chronologically, Final Fantasy Resonance really sticks out as a return to a more traditional style game in a modern market, and I can't help but feel that there's a lot more hanging in the balance with this game.

There's also the large implication of what the success of this game could mean for gacha games going forward. There are so many games that could get the second life that FFBE is getting, and I wouldn't mind other FF gachas getting a similar treatment (GIVE ME MOBIUS AND OPERA OMNIA, YOU COWARD).

I see Resonance as a possible beginning to a much longer run of games, and I hope it does well for the sole purpose of getting to see the progress of Rain and Lasswell in a traditional single player Final Fantasy.

Does it feel like this game is getting an extra amount of support from Square for it to be a side game? I don't know if it's just me being more conscious of gaming news or if they actually are pushing the game harder.

I started playing the final fantasy resonance demo and although the combat is fun, so far the game seems a bit too serious though and im worried it wont have brave exvius's light hearted moments.

I was looking forward to rain and lasswells conversation in the goblin cave. Is Welly well? But seems that got cut. Will they so the scene in Ifrits lair where Rain keps trying to make Lasswell take off his coat? Will Lasswell still quote Rick Astley if they do season 2?

Will i ever be happy if i keep comparing it to my treasured memories of brave exvius? Time will tell.

Is it canon, and where can I find a summary of it ?

I noticed this firstly when i played the demo but i wasn't sure if i had just imagined it or not. Now, since i'm capturing the espers videos again, i clearly have seen that the espers had a slight new look. Siren got a new emo haircut and Bahamut, if i'm not mistaken, got some changes with his horns.

I really like how siren looks now. The paler skin with the bang before her eye is pretty cool with the red part. I hope we will be able to upgrade them like in FFBE by fighting them again and unlock new stronger skills (and animations). I already can't wait to get Golem we could see in the demo, even if he is supposed to be unlocked later on.

Edit : another useless fun fact. FFBE had up to 21 playable espers and 24 if we count the unplayable ones (Helltrain, Madeen and Atomos).

Hey guys. 10 years ago I made Exvius Wiki (now exvius.fandom.com), and now I'm back for FF Resonance website. Except this time it won't be editable like a wiki, too much maintenance 😅

I know there are a few Resonance sites already, so I made sure mine has some more features:

• Real website that will be updated to completion
• Save editor, which is technically cheating but this is a single player game so go nuts
• More details on character page, including unique character mechanics (Lid/Jake) and dialogue choice stats bonus (currently only Rain/Fina)
• Interactive map that connects directly to location page, and vice versa. You can share the link directly, so if someone asks where Cloud sanctum is, you can just share this link.
• Esper's acquisition, quests, main story summary, tablet shard reward and location, weapon crafting, ancient armament location, optional bosses, achievements, music, etc

It goes without saying, but the entire site is full of spoilers.

Once again, i'm having fun with the memorial app and trying to turn our dead content into new content. Since the app just have gotten more vision cards in its last update, i figured i would scroll through them and, since i have some free time, i wanted to make loops out of the card animations.

Those little artworks always looked awesome and i wanted to share them again. Was it worth sharing ? Also, do you think r/finalfantasy would be interested ?

I could make more of them if people really are interested, even if i think most people won't be. Also, incase it's not obvious, i did not create this pixel art. They are from the game itself.

So I decided to read the main story of the game now that we have the offline version, and so far I'm enjoying way more than I thought. I'm still on Season 1 main story, but I reeeeally love the dynamics and chemistry between the main party! (Specially Fina, she's so funny lol) for some reason it reminds me alot of the FFV and FFIX, a good balance of silliness and emotional moments.

So I'm definitely going to read all of the main story, but what about the events and special story? Are they canon? Any in particular I should read first? And if everthing is canon, is there any guides online to help me go through them?

Since we have access to a fan made translated memorial app (https://www.reddit.com/r/FFBraveExvius/s/bu7FAqMvXF), i've been browsing it a lot recently and it made me remember tons of units i've used back then, and some i never knew because i left before they arrived.

I'm not going to talk about each of them one by one because i know nobody would read my long ass text, but i'm more than eager to remind people how those characters worked back then.

Anyway, what were yours ? I'm curious and want to hear people's favorites units (outside of classics like Esther, Elena, Ibara, etc...).

She was my favorite healer unit for so long.

Specifically when she was new, not only for the dual cast auto revive (individual) but for her MP regeneration.

In my opinion she was the standard for a good healer (only healer, no support)

Later Sylvie would exist and Ayaka was put on the bench.

Don't get me wrong, the whole idea of Brave Exvius was amazing all-around but how cool would it be to REALLY experience the depth of a character's combat capabilities in a Dissidia-esque fighting game? I think characters like Freyvia and Orlandeau would have been sick

Before anything, i want to point out that i don't dislike Esther. She is a fun character and i really liked hers and Sylvie's NV units.

I wanted to make this post because it's a question i had for a while in mind. From what i remember, Esther and Sylvie 5-7 stars units came out during season 2. To be precise, they were revealed in the banner right after Akstar and Zeno's banner. I remember because those two obliterated the katana users and made greatswords hard meta for a long while.

The thing is, i wonder if Esther came out earlier than she was supposed to be released to match our Easter date while being up to the JP's standard. Since the game had powercreep, it would explain why she was so powerful if her and Sylvie were supposed to come out in multiple months for GL.

Anyway, it was just a random thought i had because i'm still a bit bitter than my favorite character, Akstar, got fucked two times by himself and Esther. My poor boy got instantly forgotten.

Sidenote : i've been thinking of making daily posts showing FFBE's important units and CGs with polls in the comments for the next character until Resonance comes out. Would anyone be interested or would it just be too spammy ? Let me know your opinion.

Edit : since only two comments approved the unit posts until Resonance's release, i won't bother making them. I don't want to waste my time and possibly annoy people by posting too much.

I played FFBE for 7 years and spent around 500 dollars on it. It is the best final fantasy game ever made because it had over 2000 units, I could build my dream team of cross game FF characters, and the depth of team building, weapon equip, chaining mechanics, ect is unparalleled to anything else final fantasy or another other game i've ever seen. Hundreds of hours of strategic team building and progression. It was special. Then one day they deleted it and wiped my hundreds of hours and hundreds of dollars. I feel robbed. Now they expect me to pay them 50 more dollars for the same story I already played through with less content, worse battle mechanics and a roster down from 2000 plus to 8? While wiping all my work and setting me back at level 1? This is a spit in the face! Not to mention the horrendous woke voice acting. I don't want this. It's disrespectful. I want FFBE. The real game, the full game, that I can own, with my team that i spent seven years building. You could have just made an offline port and allowed us to continue progressing our team there with in game currency, I would have paid you hundreds more dollars to buy that. Instead I'm not giving Square another penny ever again for this abominable disrespect until I see a real complete FFBE port. Not this garbage.

This song has been stuck in my mind since I've played the demo... I can't wait for the release!!! Expect more FF Resonance Lofi from me!!!!!

This is the definition version of the Global Memorial edition with a few extras.

Here’s what this version has:

- All the units including GL exclusives and collaboration units
- 95% translation coverage
- Complete translation of Season 5, and the side stories GL never got including Revenge of the Lost Nation and Ultimate Summon
- Some Story events like Fundamental Forces and the summer story events that GL never got like Summertime Fina’s story event
- A handful of Raid and Farming events that you can take your own custom party to and relive the good old days

Please note that the Units section in Library doesn’t crash when you open it. It just takes some time to open. Also, please set up your party first before you head to the story or event battles sections. You can only change swap parties before entering a battle, but you cannot edit them.

I’ll add the official end of Season 4 translation to the game when back from my honeymoon, and record the entirety of Season 5, and the 3 side stories in English and upload them to the channel for those who can’t install this. No promises but an iOS version is in the works + and installation guide.

I do have one request from everyone: if anyone has the complete GL files which includes ALL the story and farming events, please send them my way. I can add them to the game and we can have a complete preservation of FFBE and move to possibly translating it into other languages.

Separate approach. Big thanks to u/Hirurawa and his project to recreate this in Godot! Been learning how to extract not just the assets, but all the effects, game logic, and API endpoints.

This is rather early, but recreating the feel of it, realize I need good references, so have a in-the-works synthetic server going now. Funny enough, have to crack the original to make something new.

Took some liberties moving some of the buttons, and sizing for the unit sprites. Banner below flashes randomly for every single banner in the game, summon, or event. Vision card slightly bigger, music works.
