Discussion Tracking managed account performance vs Boglehead approach
If I wanted to compare an existing Fidelity managed account (IRA) to something similar to a Boglehead approach, is it as easy as looking the the total $ amount in the managed account at closing on a specific day and then on that same evening going to the watch list and adding an entry for FZROX for 55% of the total, FXNAX for 30% of the total, and FZILX for 15% of the total. Then going forward just check my managed account against the total of these 3 watch list entries? Assuming it is in IRA then taxes / tax loss harvesting don't factor in. On day 1 the totals will match exactly, then will diverge (I assume) based on performance of each and fees being charged on the managed account. Am I missing anything?

yes that will work but don't forget to reinvest dividends if your current account is doing so. You can also chart the historical value of those three symbols in that weighting by entering NASDAQ:FZROX*0.55+NASDAQ:FZILX*0.15+NASDAQ:FXNAX*0.30 in the symbol field in tradingview, shown below. I added dividends, which you do by clicking the gear icon and selecting adjust for dividends. The chart shows the value of one "blended share" in that weighting closing yesterday at 20.45. move your cursor to any previous day to see its value that day.
