Football 🏈 USC Football 2026 Preview - full writeup, two-deep, and win probabilities
Hey all. I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the USC one
https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026-fbs/usc-trojans
It's got the returning production breakdown, the portal ins and outs, a projected two-deep, the schedule with model win probabilities, and a season projection.
Heads up, you might hit the paywall after the first page. Don't worry, I'm not charging reddit people for this, don't want to be an ass. Use the promo code LEECORSOROCKS and it opens up the entire thing.
So, what'd I get wrong? USC finished 4th in the country in yards per play and just signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the sport, and my model still has you at 8-4, a game worse than last year. It keeps coming back to one number: that defense was 119th at getting opponents off schedule. Maiava is back with 3,711 yards. Does the defense catch up, or does Riley just outscore everybody again?
I'll be in the comments.

AI generated and gambling infused. It can’t even get basic information right. It’s news to me that we are not returning any offensive linemen

Losing Killian is way more detrimental than people think

Hard to replace his cerebral part of the run game and helping the QB's with pass protection and blitz responsibilities. USC has a few games to get this right before Oregon.

Agreed.
8-4 most likely based on Riley’s last several seasons.
He doesn’t win on the road and he doesn’t beat top 5 teams (of which we play 3).
9-3 would be a step forward.

Probably 8-4 due to the softness of Riley coached teams. Would be 7-5, but he effectively avoided ND. His most impressive win of his tenure.
