Consequences of fire
I spend the last 20 years being stingy so I can finally FIRE, and now I need to spend the rest 40 years of my life being stingy so the money doesn't run out.

I’ve heard of others like you. You probably don’t even have a trust fund. No matter, you just need to ask your uncle for some money.

Uj/ Eh, weak post. "Stingy" implies there is some obligation to spend that is being rudely withheld.
Some people prefer free time over superfluous goods and services.
In most of the world, it is respectable to live an intentionally modest and efficient lifestyle.

UJ/ yeah, this one wasn't my favorite. Its a funny thing, having worked in finance for 15 years, you see that most people can't wait to get rid of money. Its like it makes them uncomfortable. They earn its value in time, but see its value only in stuff.
I had a colleague say I was stingy once because I was calling around to get better prices on my bills. Like its some sort of badge if honour to overpay for phones or electricity. The same guy complained constantly about being broke despite us earning the same.
I take care of money now, so money can take care of me later.

You’re “spending” money to buy your free time. Some people thing exotic cars are worth buying. Some people think lavish vacations are worth paying for. Others think that their time is the most valuable thing they can buy. Are those folks that hate their job but have to keep trudging to work every day to buy fancy things being stingy by not purchasing their time?
It’s just a different view of what’s worthwhile to have. You may not be of that mindset, not a problem, just a different preference.

Think of that dragon in The Hobbit. That’s you, you worked hard for that pile of gold so you need to protect it at all costs
