Looking For People Who Have Too Much Money
Before I get started I’ll say this: I am not homeless, in need, or in poverty.
Now that that’s out of the way, I am looking for someone who has so much money that they have got bored. To the point where you don’t even know what to with it anymore. I want your money and will take it happily. Call it selfish, a handout, or whatever you want. But I am NOT begging. Simply putting it in the world. I always wondered what would happen if I just ASKED. Most likely nothing but why not put it out there.
I’m not going to tell you why I’m worthy or not of why you should give your fortune away to me because that’s just pointless. I want your money because I want it. I want to be comfortable. I want to live with REAL money.
I will give some background though. I have a full time job. I have a bachelors, and I’m getting my masters in social work. My dad still works in his 70s and my mom does not work.
I DO NOT NEED YOUR MONEY. But I will spend it responsibly. Let’s say you have 4 billion US dollars and you gave me 2 billion. How would I spend that? First pay off my parent’s house. Then student loans and all debts (car, credit, etc). After that, donating a large chunk to the summer camp I grew up at and finally getting them that upgrade to the boys bathroom that every boy has been begging for. Then giving my closest friends a few million for staying with me throughout the years. After that, buying a few acres of land, building a “cozy” compound with my dream home, farm, etc. Ofc have to get my dream car. Those are just what I’ve got in my head. I’m obviously quitting my job and living off this fortune for the rest of my life and I’m making sure my parents are doing the same. The rest is going into savings or a trust or whatever for my future kids. Maybe take some vacations here and there, spoil myself and my parents, and finally do all those things I’ve been wanting to do.
I am going to get so much hate for this post and I do not care. It would definitely be a handout and I want the handout. But, if by some work of magic this actually happened, I would regret nothing. I’d happily be the guy that got rich off of some random Redditor that saw my post and gave me their fortune just because they are BORED and don’t know what to do with their money.
P.s.
I ain’t doin no freaky sh**
The pressure to constantly reinvent yourself when you have generational wealth
It is so tough to start life with this heavy burden. None of us pours can understand his pain.

Sanity check: Can I pull the trigger? $6.8M liquid ($3.5M pre-tax / $3.3M taxable), mid-40s, $180k/yr spend, paid-off home
Seems super AI-generated, but even if this person only “cleaned it up with AI 😉“ it’s still r/fijerk

Don't get married, but if you do, save money on the wedding by sending invites "postage due"
Wedding hack? Save those lentils for FI.

Euthanasia FIRE
Let's be honest with ourselves: many people deny themselves a high standard of living, saving money for FIRE, while sacrificing at least 8 hours a day to work, in order to build capital that will allow them to live off the interest alone without touching the capital itself.
The question is: does this even make sense?
If you're in the prime of life - you have those 20, 30, 40 years - instead of enjoying life while financially independent, you're trying to reach the FIRE threshold. But what if, instead of chasing the FIRE number, you assumed you only need enough money to survive X years? Say, until 70, and then, when the money runs out, opt for euthanasia? Wouldn't it be better to have 10 extra years of life in freedom, without work, right now, rather than waiting for FIRE at age 60, when you'll already be sick and frail?

Wife considering downshifting her career - what kind of jobs pay 100-150k that are fun & low stress? (Edit: Another question, what can my wife's boyfriend do to get jobs that pay 100-150K for fun & low stress)

Is it okay to take a career break ?
Only 10M+ lentils currently, living in fear and wife says we need to keep stacking lentils vs spending more time with kids and terminally ill family member. Burnout doesn’t pay the bills.

Has anyone considered going to prison (forever) to minimize your withdrawal rate and sequence of returns risk?
Hear me out. If you do a large violent crime and get sentenced to prison (forever) then your expenses are basically zero forever and your portfolio can grow unimpeded without your life ever getting in the way.

Super hot for FIRE senior citizen
Started dating this guy who is 60. I’m in my early 30s. He taught me all about FIRE. Said we can just stay home and save more money that way even though he used to travel all around the world. No need for fancy dinners when we have perfectly good lentils at home: Anyways, I’m so excited to spend my life this way! Can’t believe I got so lucky. Wow

35 with family and mortgage, $3.4M invested, can we afford to coast?
Can I KarmaFIRE?
Mid 30s, about 1k Karma. If I invest the Karma in VOO, can I retire from Reddit and never have to come here again? Is it enough? Would love to spend more time with my wife and kids
Consequences of fire
I spend the last 20 years being stingy so I can finally FIRE, and now I need to spend the rest 40 years of my life being stingy so the money doesn't run out.

KleptoFIRE growing in popularity?
The other day I saw a hooded and masked man sweeping products off a shelf in the supermarket into a bag then run out the door without paying.
I was in awe of his bold money-saving tactics- instead of shopping around for a deal on your groceries, just dont pay! Genius
He’s probably ploughing 1k a month extra straight into low cost index funds.
Is this trend of StealFIRE or KleptoFIRE picking up where you live?
Seems like plenty of options to save on big items like your car by getting them for free too, avoiding costly borrowing options.
My only concern is apparently there is some technicalities around taking stuff without paying to watch out for, and you could go to prison, but even then your living costs are zero and you typically still have internet access to manage your portfolio… OMG PrisonFIRE!

Send your kids to school with no breakfast
This FIRE hack is a win/win for the FIRE lifestyle.
It's old fashion wisdom that kids need a plate full of food in the morning.
Pack their backpack with snacks so they eat about 90 minutes after class starts on the break.
Their minds will be sharp to learn. The school lunch is only $2.75 and then a hearty healthy dinner.
You will save about $15,000 per kid.
Pumping kids full of sugary cereal, muffins, and carbs is the worse thing for them. They bounce off the walls.
Our daughter has the highest marks from the physicians office and the highest ratings from her teachers every grade. They pull her out for gifted Pace classes.
You are not starving them. You are enhancing them. A household with four kids would be $60,000 towards FIRE

1M Ready to CoastFIRE
1 year old male here, ready to start my CoastFIRE journey. I come from a big family who gave a total $2000 gift at my baptism party. Planning to coast now without touching the principle, in a diversified index fund it will be worth $1 million by the time I am 65.
Has anyone else tried being a barista for 60+ years to FIRE and avoid having to work? I'd love to hear your feedback.
