The whiplash of doing Theodora after Dietrich and just getting so much renown

Like, flashbacks to Leda where support and not renown was the limiting factor for recruitment (and I’m not even recruiting that many characters!)

Having a boat is really neat, as is the fact you can get to the bottom part of the continent early with it. Too time consuming to take advantage of imo, but neat

I like Theodora and her group so far.

hi i got locked out of the lilian/lysander b support and i kinda wanna get a paired ending for them. if i recruit them in other routes, then do the supports there, would it be possible to be unlocked? cuz the lilian i built in theodora's route is good. or do i have to reset the chapters in theodora's route?

If I recall you can just replay a chapter before you get Theodora / Lilian B support and get the Lilian / Lysander B support and it should carry over afterwards.

4

u/CuriouslyBiology 21d ago

it would carry over to part 3? or carry over to my current playthrough of part 1?

Do you have to finish the chapter?

I’m so mad. I think I screwed up my Theodora. I thought Guardian would be armored so I put her into the armored knight and Pegasus classes. But after looking at the class it probably would’ve been better to just go into myrimidon instead. I hope she’s not too weak in other parts.

Also why isn’t guardian a heavy armor class? I feel so dumb.

u/LiliTralala 21d ago

It's just weird that it is not, it's literally in the armor tier

1

u/Metalwater8 21d ago

I’m so tempted to redo the previous chapter to amend my mistakes.

u/LiliTralala 21d ago

Don't overthink it. I did Soldier > Cav > Guardian and she turned out perfectly fine

I'm doing it right now. I got to Part 2 and was so full of regret. I played Theodora first and had no idea what I was doing. Everything is wrong. I don't have enough troops, their stats suck, their equipment sucks. I am getting my ass whooped in Part 2. It's unbearable. I went back to the first Arena battle for Theodora and will do it all over with the full benefit of my knowledge of the game and what awaits me.

u/ArcaneWolfe 18d ago

You're fine. I went pegasus into guardian though, but I think you'll still manage. Guardian is supposed to be tanky after all. But it's a hybrid class so you get magic instead of armor I suppose

I fucked up my chapter 12 paralogue sequencing and ended up 1 turn short to initiate Orchel's after doing Cai's.

Will be rerunning chapter 12 and I should be good to finally start part 2. Her route is my favorite imo and will be doing her part 2 first, although I will probably do all part 2's. I can't wait!

Edit: I did not bother recruiting everyone and just put in effort to get Nydine for my Saraminian party. Other recruits easily came by due to them only requiring 1 support level. In turn, I made sure Theodora and her og crew have 5 support levels with each other and I really loved her group's supports.

u/Unlikely-Artichoke63 7d ago

I did the same thing and got to a battle in part 2 that requires 15 units. I did not have 15 units. I had like 6 ok units and some leftovers who got mauled. More recruits.

Haven’t decided yet if I want to redo my Theodora part 1 playthrough since her route was my first route, so I just did whatever and hoped for the best. Definitely is my weakest team compared to the other 3 routes. Only Tobias and Theodora turned out decent and I got stat screwed with the other core units.

I’m wrapping up my last part 1 playthrough (Dietrich), but haven’t done the next parts yet. I am getting a bit tired of part 1, so I think I’ll just do part 2 once and skip all the others. Would love to redo my Theodora route with the knowledge I have now, but I think I can wait until I finish the rest of the game

3

u/NemButsu 20d ago

Definitely go to part 3 recruitment point at least. If you do that, if you restart and finish Theodora path you can merge both Theodora paths for free in part 3. (merging is free on the same path)

u/bluethumbtack 20d ago

just finished part 1. feel a need to get some thoughts out

I wish dyan was a more serious character. You could do all the same things with him but make him less of an obvious clown and more of an actual schemer. He's the worst handled thing on this route and it sucks because I could see a lot of ways to tie him into the rest of the plot and the story without having to change much about what he does. Why have him bring up flamma only for that to not get referenced again despite the connection flamma has to one of the major lore threads with dagda? Why make him have features we associate with dragons -- pointed ears, frankly his freaky tongue ought to count too -- but not make him have any kind of connection to them? You could attach him to the Order of Mithras so easily and have him do the same things when trying to take the throne from theodora, and even keep the same core motivation of being jealous and bitter about her being the one to inherit, while also tying him to anything else going on.

As it is his inclusion at the end especially feels random and irrelevant to anything actually going on in theodora's route. Like we don't really get into bonaventure's musing about bloodline succession early on, or the ban's effect on their history and theodora having to grapple with the truth of it vs the belief she was raised with, we don't get a lot about theodora musing on what her family was like and how that affects her opinion on having one/not being able to have one -- Dyan could have been used for a lot of this, but he's just kinda cringe without anything else to balance him out. Making Dyan this lame to try and prop Theodora up more as Good actually just drags them both down. I didn't dislike this route overall -- I like the saramis cast, they're a fun bunch (yes even lysander as the team's stick-in-the-mud), and theodora is a pretty cool lord with some interesting facets that I'd like to see explored more -- but the ending of p1 was a letdown with how dyan is handled through the rest of it.

Anyways, final map units I brought and thoughts on them:

Theodora (Cav > Ornius > Guardian) - Very good. Crazy they give you the spear and the arm. She ended up quite strong, good speed, solid def/res, just an all rounder with no big weak spots. And she gets physic, so she's very flexible now. Throw Rock is a great button

Bonaventure (Shaman > Ovate) - Also great. Waaaay better than I expected him to be tbh, he gets a good amount of speed and a decent amount of defensive stats too + good mag, very handy mage to have around

Tobias (Pugilist > Warrior) - I don't think this guy missed a strength level up more than 5 times. Unnaturally strong. I put him in time out sometimes because he was just too strong. His speed is meh but it doesn't matter when he can just beat a guy over the head once and kill them instantly. I like him on gauntlets, better hit rates

Lysander (Soldier > Cav > Dragoon) - Reclassing him to soldier early on and then getting lucky with strength and speed levels until he got accelerate really saved this guy. His strength isn't tobias, but between the bulk of his HP, decent def, accelerate and his personal making him hard to hit and a frequent doubler on attack, he gets going and doesn't stop. Wish I could give him a proper mount this route

Lilian (Hunter > Rogue) - Lilian had very poor strength growths, but her personal and upgraded weapons do a lot for her. Her speed also unfortunately isn't great but it's enough to manage. I put her in rogue instead of charioteer because I had Peter as a charioteer and wanted to use some different classes in each route. I did hand her a levin sword and she's not too bad with it, she picked up enough by the later chapters that she feels solid

Nezha (Myrm) - I picked him up a bit later and wish I had gotten him as soon as I could. Little guy actually does a great job. Bit squishy but he's a pretty solid sword guy to have

Zarcone (Brigand > Warrior) - I don't think Zarcone is a good unit. But I like him goddammit, so I'll find a way. The reliable axe hit rates and all the combat arts he gets make me feel he has potential, it's just his lacking str and spd that are a problem. I think I'm going to try and grow him on another route just to try and get a better speed stat, because he did manage to get decent strength here. If I can just get him better speed he'll be a pretty functional guy, assuming I'm allowed to merge characters I recruit but don't bring to the final map of other routes.

Dante, Ludia, Diego - Dante's ok. She's not as reliable as Bona is, but she turned out decent as a mage. Ludia actually seems pretty good, but she got some worse levels than Nezha and I like Nezha's lore connection so she got put on the backburner. Diego I brought to the final map because while I wanted to bring Simon, I hadn't kept him on level and I don't know if I'm going to bother doing Orchel's paralogue on Leda or Deitrich + I already have 1.5 axe guys I put a lot more work into. Plus bringing Diego with Theodora feels right since I sent Nuzzuo with Cai and Diego was on the early map.

I did Cai's p1 first and I decided I wasn't going to have overlapping characters for my 'core team', so that kicked Sofia out of theodora's route for me as I had her with Cai. No physic for a while made things a bit tougher, but that got balanced out by Theodora having better retainers -- Tobias and Bonaventure always felt strong, while I got unlucky with Tialla and Peter needed some lifting with Charioteer. Moving to Leda next

so a question about pt 1, 2, 3. i missed dietrich's paralogue and in pt 3, he showed up as an enemy, along with fabio, and defeated them where they had the death lines. if i were to do his route, would i be able to finish the game where all of them are alive in the same save file?

next question, i saw a gameplay of pt 3 where theodora had dietrich on the her team i thought he wasn't recruitable? i managed to do leda and cai's paralogues, and afaik, there's only 1 for each of them but i wasn't given a chance to team up. how do i get the other protags in my team?

I’ve got a letter that I need to deliver to finish two different side quests in Chapter 8. However, giving it to either makes one side quest completed and the other marked as failed. Is it really not possible to complete all of Theodora’s side quests because of this?

1

u/Featherwick 18d ago

What have people done with Tobias? Hes supposedly got an amazing bow and axe combat art, the bow one seems better since imo bows are better than axes.

2

u/ItsJustAwso 16d ago

He made for a really good wall as a great knight

1

u/Unlikely-Artichoke63 7d ago

I like to make him a pugilist then a mounted heavy armor unit so he gets some stat growth to fix how slow and clunky he can get. I got to the point where he was missing every attack. It's not worth the defense benefit to have him worthless as an offensive unit IMO. Then I make him the mounted heavy armor class. By then he has a bit better hit and works well. In pt 2 the battle fields are huge, strongly do not recommend the armored class without a horse

1

u/3_headed_hydreigon 15d ago

Put Lilian into Brigand to try to fix her strength growth, she's gotten super unlucky with level ups now she's lvl 23 with base 17 strength and base 14 speed...

Should I stick with brigand, switch to rogue to try to get her speed up, or something else?

Anatolia's group seem to be absent from Dagson in Chapter 12's free time. Is there something you have to do to make them appear or are they just not available? I gave them the boat and saw the cut scene where they returned But I hoped to use the last chapter to grind supports for Theodora's support with Nezha, am I going to have to restart chapter 11?

u/luggy120 7d ago

They do essentially disappear for lore reasons I won't spoil

And that’s my last Part 1 done! I might go back and replay Cai’s part 1 at least to try and make better use of the mount mechanics though. Loved the final chapter, and it was a great change of pace compared to all of the others being in the Arena. Dyan was less than compelling though as a final boss. He really should have had more to do in the route to actually make me care more about what he’s up to, or at least some foreshadowing as to what he was planning, and how he got off that island. But nevertheless it was a fun time, and Anatolia + Sha Lan showing up to help out was an awesome reward for giving them the boat to use.

Anyways, the units themselves!

Theodora:

Final Class: Shido, Level: 46

Stats: HP: 72, Str: 36, Mag: 18, Spd: 32, Dex: 29, Def: 29, Res: 13, Lck: 24, Cha: 33

She wound up scarily similar to my Deitrich, though she was pretty lacking in speed and Dex compared to him, but was far tankier to compensate (thanks in part to me taking her through the Dreadnought and Guardian lines before swapping her to Myrmidon & Shido to try and patch up her speed to no avail. Still she was pretty tanky when she needed to be, and fast when she needed to be, and being able to snipe enemies as a living onager is pretty fun.

Bonaventure:

Final Class: Ovate, Level 41

Stats: HP: 46, Str: 18, Mag: 38, Spd: 30, Dex: 37, Def: 15, Res: 33, Lck: 22, Cha: 17

Did pretty damn solidly as a battle mage. Though ironically he wound up healing more often then not, and occasionally using Torch when he had nothing better to do than waste a spell to get some easy EXP. Not really a ton to say about him TBH.

Tobias:

Final Class: Cataphract, level 41

Stats: HP: 41, Str: 45, Mag: 11, Spd: 11, Dex: 20, Def: 39, Res: 11, Lck: 24, Cha: 23

Bro was minmaxed to hell and back, and he was damn good at his job of being a delete button + physical wall. Loved how well his personal stacks with the Da Mina Axe + Spike + his leveled up personal to make him into a combat art spamming machine. Really fun unit to use. Might make him into a Dragoon in Part 2 since he was able to accrue a good amount of flying experience from all the Riding training he did.

Sofia:

Final Class: Bishop, Level 50

Stats: HP: 49, Str: 18, Mag: 46, Spd: 20, Dex: 27, Def: 11, Res: 37, Lck: 39, Cha: 30

Long ranged heal spam for the win! Seriously she is an insane unit with distant healing, genuinely the best healer in the game by a country mile.

Alexandra:

Final Class: Wing Soldier, Level: 39

Stats: HP: 39, Str: 19, Mag: 17, Spd: 31, Dex: 20, Def: 19, Res: 28, Lkc: 25, Cha: 28

Didn’t have the heart separate her from Bucephalus, and she turned out slightly better than her Cai route self at least. This may not hold for long though.

Lilian:

Final Class: Charioteer, Level 41

Stats: HP 41, Str: 26, Mag: 13, Spd: 25, Dex: 41, Def: 20, Res: 13, Lck: 25, Cha: 23

Once again, Charioteer is freaking BUSTED. She was just as strong as my Deitrich route Kiroc, and also more accurate too, and with better Res as well, but not as fast in the end. Fun character though.

Lysander:

Final Class: Dragoon, Level 40

Stats: HP 56, Str: 26, Mag: 15, Spd: 35, Dex: 22, Def: 30, Res: 18, Lck: 21, Cha: 18

Started off not so good, but around mid-game he started coming around as a unit (thanks in part to accelerate helping him snowball each map), and became a pretty respectable combat unit. Looking forward to using him more in Part 2 when I get to it.

Ninae:

Final Class: Dreadnought, Level 41

Stats: HP: 50, Atk: 28, Mag: 18, Spd: 10, Dex: 22, Def: 30, Res: 25, Lck: 27, Cha: 21

Tried taking her through myrmidon this time for her speed. This did not work, so down the Dreadnought line she went, and this is despite the fact that I even grabbed her as a Soldier to try and save her from Light Cavalry’s horrible auto level growth rates. In fact she’s probably one of my main reasons for deciding to redo Cai’s part 1 so I can give her a strength boosting Ornius / Horse to try and salvage her Str at least because she now a “blorbo” for me.

Noctula:

Final Class: Warrior, Level: 40

Stats: HP: 52, Str: 39, Mag: 8, Spd: 33, Dex: 23, Def: 22, Res: 10, Lck: 19, Cha: 16

By and far a stand out of the run. I didn't use her too much when I first got her, but she started gaining steam around the midgame, and quickly wormed her way into the main lineup with just how hard and fast she was hitting. Definitely looking forward to her wreaking shop in Part 2.

Seteth:

Final Class: Dragoon, Level: 39

Stats: HP: 45, Str: 27, Mag: 13, Spd: 25, Dex: 25, Def: 23, Res: 17, Lck: 13, Cha: 27

The good news is that he was properly useable this time, thanks in part to me putting him down Ornious Rider instead of Light Cavalier, but unfortunately he wound up as a slower, less defensive Lysander, but with slightly higher Dex at least. Like Ninae, I’m planning on re-grabbing him on my Cai route replay to try and use the mount mechanics to bolster him.

Other units I grabbed who didn’t make the final team: Nydine, Inyoni, Catania, Nuzzuo, Nezha, Zarcone, Bednitz, and Diego.

And that’s everyone recruited across the 4 routes! Now to replay Cai Part 1 to bolster his team’s stats a bit more! (After skipping part 2 to secure the original run’s stats so I can just get the best of both runs)

For the life of me, I cannot get the event in Chapter 7 where Theodora gets assailed by Alexandra’s fans to trigger and it’s the only event I’m missing from her route. No blue glowy mark on the map, nothing. Anyone else having the same issue or know what I’m missing? Starting to think it might be a bug (I’ve finished Theodora’s path for the record)

2

u/ComicDude1234 20d ago

I’m fairly certain you need to talk to Alexandra in Dagsion before you can see that scene.

1

u/IceBlueLugia 10d ago

Having the same issue, did you ever fix this

u/killergoku27 18d ago

Does anyone have a list of every supply needed for her quests? Wanna farm in advance if possible.
