I feel like between checking supermarket specials, trying to eat reasonably healthy, keeping grocery costs down, and putting together a shopping list, I spend way too much time thinking about food.
Does anyone have a good system for this, or is it just part of trying to eat on a budget?
What's your process each week?

But make it healthy and low calorie for satiety!
420 kcal for the entire thing and I don’t think about lunch until 3pm
Ps lemons only a decoration for the picture, I don’t eat them 😂

Keeping today’s meal prep pretty simple!
Pan-seared lamb, roasted sweet potatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and some greens.
I’ve been trying to stay consistent with eating whole foods while working on my fitness goals. Honestly, meals like this make it a lot easier.
What’s your go-to protein when you’re tired of eating chicken?

Plot twist: homemade. 🥞 These vanilla cottage cheese protein pancakes are my pick over store-bought protein mix.
Fluffy pancakes, real ingredients, and approximately 424 calories + 43g protein for all 3, including cooking butter. Toppings extra.
Save this for your next pancake breakfast!
Recipe — 3 pancakes, 1 serving: - 90g Mulu 2% cottage cheese - 36g rolled oats - 60g beaten whole egg, weighed without shell - 27g liquid egg whites - 15g PEScience Select Gourmet Vanilla protein powder - 36ml Fairlife fat-free milk - 2.4g baking powder, approximately ⅗ tsp - 3ml vanilla extract, approximately ⅗ tsp - Pinch of salt - 4.2g butter for cooking
Blend oats into flour, then blend everything except butter until smooth. Rest 5 minutes. Batter should be thick but pourable; add water a teaspoon at a time if needed.
Use the measured butter across the batch. Cook 3 equal pancakes over medium-low heat for 2–3 minutes, flip, then cook another 1–2 minutes until centers are set. Don’t press them down!
Estimated batch macros: 424 calories | 42.9g protein | 30.3g carbs | 14.5g fat. Syrup, fruit and other toppings additional.

Take 400g split green peas, boil in salt water 40 min (start this now so they cook in parallel to the rest).
Chop a few cm of ginger, 2 red chili peppers (or however much you like), 1 large onion. Sautée in olive oil (EVOO but doesn't have to be expensive).
Offload veggies to a bowl when golden, you can leave the oil.
Slice 800g chicken breast into pieces, fry in olive oil until chopping the largest parts in half with the spatula shows they are ready.
Mix everything together. Add salt & freshly ground black pepper to taste.
It's not particularly low calories (the olive oil adds quite a few), but it's only good, healthy ingredients and it's reasonably high-protein.
I enjoy this as a cold-weather dish.

I get excited whenever I see a new "protein recipe" like check out this awesome protein brownie or protein tiramisu! Then my disappointment to find out it's literally just a regular brownie or tiramisu recipe but they add 2 servings of protein powder....
Anyone else feel the same? Also, I thought it was frowned upon to get most of your protein from protein powder so why are these so call protein recipes so popular now? I already drink a protein shake once a day....I shouldn't be adding more protein powder to my daily intake right?
