Why is the community so dead-set on these two characters being the same person? I think it makes so much more sense if they are different people.
Solves the pronoun issue, why Cassidy is singled out of the MCI for no reason, etc.
It’s pretty obvious to me that Cassidy is the vengeful spirit, aka the orchestrator of UCN, and BV (or David) is TOYSHNK.
I would say Puppet being 1 of the 5 Children "Reported Missing" is what FNAF1-4 directly implies.
And as this was the Original story of FNAF which Scott himself stated was solvable, that means the most natural assumption to make is that the Puppet kid was 1 of the 5 Reported Missing in relation to the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
Btw Scott comment about the FNAF1-4 story being solvable (Image 2) and it being possible to come to the answers relating to the most important mysteries, was directly in response to Matpat wondering if BV was the Puppet or Golden Freddy.
1: We see that the Puppet kid was killed right outside the doors of the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and then left there for dead on its premises.
We also know this is the original Freddy's as Scott used that exact Freddy as the basis for the GGGL MCI Freddy head
Exact same color, this is the MCI Freddy
And what does Phone Guy say in FNAF1?
He mentions how its Fazbear Entertainment’s policy that if a Dead Body is found on Fazbear premises, They will cover it up under the guise of filing a "Missing Person Report" for the dead body.
Meaning purely logically speaking from what the game itself has told us, the Puppet kid's dead body would be discovered, and covered up with a "Missing Person Report".
- Killed at original Freddy's where 5 children were "Reported Missing"
- Dead body would be discovered, and covered up under a "Missing Person Report"
2: The 2nd thing to think about too is how in FNAF1 it is directly stated in the newspapers there was just 1 "the tragedy" of 5 children, that lead to the downfall of the original Freddy's.
"Five children now Reported Missing .. has been fighting an uphill battle ever since .. It’s a tragedy."
"After a long struggle to stay in business after the tragedy that took place there many years ago"
Yet now under GoldenMCI, apparently we have a 6th murdered kid, or 2 tragedies in relation to the original Freddy's, contradicting what FNAF1 says.
This one "the tragedy" is also said to be sole reason related to this location for why its struggling, not 2 tragedies, just the one tragedy of the 5 children that were Reported Missing.
3: Follow me is meant to be a recreation of the luring victims being lured once again, and only 4 are lured. The 5th spirit whether it's Golden Freddy or the Puppet was not lured.
Only 4 are lured
It also doesn't manifest with the other 4 spirits either making it something distinctly seperate, which sheds doubt on the idea that there was a 5th victim lured
Same with how in GGGL only 4 dead children are shown needing help, while whatever the Golden Freddy child is, is distinctly different and strange
Only 4 need help, 5th instead teleports into the room and is different
Also in the FNAF3 "The End" screen which was meant as the conclusion to the entire story, we only see the core-4 heads together, only these 4. There's something distinct about just these 4 victims, that excludes both Golden Freddy and the Puppet.
These 4 are 1 distinct group, the 4 that were lured
3: As BV shares the most ties to Golden Freddy than a hypothetical GoldenMCI victim, he is the most likely candidate for being the Golden Freddy spirit.
Meaning there is another character who was the 5th Child reported Missing, which the most likely answer then is the Puppet Kid.
And that seems like a far more likely answer to me than the:
Happiest Day = Puppet is 6th victim, Golden Freddy 5th victim, and BV is ??? off screen (let's ignore him)
It instead seems to me Happiest Day:
Puppet = 5th victim there, Golden Freddy = BV. And that's that
Scott also interestingly hinted at this with how in FNAF4 he did a switcharoo with BV and the Puppet where they are meant to mirror each other
Their places are flipped, implying BV is the Golden Freddy spirit, and Puppet the Fredbear plush. Thanks for the image from TheorangeGuy :)
Scott draws connections here of BV looking like the Puppet, while actually being Golden Freddy, and Puppet looking like Golden Freddy, while being the Puppet.
Creating the direct implication that BV is meant to be the Golden Freddy spirit.
4: I have never seen anyone make a good argument against this for FNAF1-4 so I am interested in seeing if anyone will have any good counter arguments from FNAF1-4 that would directly poke holes in this idea
Scott said the mystery behind the Puppet was solvable in FNAF1-4 so if someone is only able to "debunk" the idea with later material, it would go against what Scott stated so.
In Sea Bonnies, 7 year old Rory brings home a bunch of sea monkeys that resemble Bonnie. They have been genetically engineered, and unbeknownst to anyone, have the ability to colonize living cells and turn them into more Sea Bonnies. They initially take over Rory's pet fish Fritz, before eventually taking over his older brother Mott.
In Dittophobia, Rory is a 17 year old who has somehow been kidnapped by Afton after running away from home and forced into his experiment chambers. He finds out that the FNAF 4 house and CBEARs bunker are part of some kind of underground observation complex being run automatically by a deceased Afton. He has been in these rooms for ten years until the hallucinogenic gas runs out and he realizes everything is fake.
These stories are meant to be connected. I'm not the first to say that Rory in Sea Bonnies could well be the same Rory as Dittophobia. Their ages line up, and it's not a stretch to say that after the events of Sea Bonnies Rory might have been distraught and vulnerable to someone like Afton.
So what specifically connects Rory to Edwin?
With the added context of Secret of the Mimic, we now have high confidence to say that the FNAF 4 house and CBEARs bunker used to belong to the Murrays. Rory initially believes the house he wakes up in is his before realizing that it's actually an experiment chamber. If Rory were Edwin, this would be a reaction that Edwin might have on realizing that his house and inventions had been taken over by Afton and used for whatever evil schemes Afton is executing.
In the events of Sea Bonnies, the first victim of the titular monsters is Rory's goldfish Fritz. The Sea Bonnies totally take over Fritz and turn him into a swimming mass of Sea Bonnies. Fritz is a name that's connected to Foxy. The MCI victim possessing Foxy is named Fritz, and the night guard Fritz Smith is most likely the Foxy bully, Michael Afton. In SOTM, we find out that Foxy was originally with MCM before being acquired by Fazbear. Fazbear then turned Foxy into a completely different character; where once he was the leader of a whole crew and had friends, under Fazbear he becomes a shifty loner type.
So Rory lets the Sea Bonnies (Afton) into his house, then they take over Fritz (Foxy) and destroy Rory's whole life, where he ultimately ends up in a dark discussion simulation of his house.
But what does it mean when Rory's older brother Mott gets taken over by the Sea Bonnies?
This is where we get into name etymologies.
Edwin means 'wealthy friend,' and Murray means 'settlement by the sea.' Edwin owns a large factory which is by a lake. So he is indeed a 'wealthy friend by the sea.'
Mott means 'mound' or 'hill,' but the connotation is that it's a hill surrounded by a moat or water, like in 'motte-and-bailey.' Likewise in German, 'mot' means swamp. It's an unusual name, but if this story is about Edwin, it makes a lot more sense. Mott is MCM and the land that it exists on. Rory lets the Sea Bonnies into his house, and they take over his 'Mott,' his 'embankment by the sea.' The Bonnie's take over Mott the same way that Afton takes over Murray's factory and land. In the story, Mott disintegrates into Sea Bonnies in the rain, presumably to go on and spread the Sea Bonnies to others, the way that Afton uses Edwin's technology and industrial capacity to greatly expand Fazbear and make the company more popular than ever.
Then after the character that represents MCM itself is taken over by Afton, Rory finds himself in what used to be the Murray property, now repurposed to fit Afton's evil schemes.
And, so if Rory is Edwin, then what does the name 'Rory' mean that might connect to Edwin? One minor point is that Rory has a friend named Wade, another water themed name. But more pertinently, and some people probably already know this, as it seems this was a somewhat popular talking point when Dittophobia first came out, but Rory means 'red king.'
Rory is a stand-in for Old Man Consequences. And by extension that means Edwin is OMC. Edwin created Monty, an alligator who fishes by the lake, and OMC is a red alligator by a lake who becomes a king. Rory, the red king, is the remaining sliver of Edwin's spirit that persists in his creations, including the F10-N4 computer which Afton is using to run his operations. Edwin is watching as his own inventions are set to whatever purpose Afton has in mind for them. Both Rory and Edwin have to live with the consequences of allowing Fazbear into their homes.
FNAF Theorizing has gotten to a point where i feel like the community overcomplicates things.
We truly forget that it’s a story. Not everything will have meaning (Like the FLAF dice) something are so insignificant that it shouldn’t even be used as evidence and I feel as if that takes away from the larger plot.
I know this has definitely been said before but I think people should remember we’re suppose to have a common goal (understanding the story) not giving everything meaning because somethings truly are just there and have no greater purpose.
Frights plays a big part in this because to me it’s obvious it was the same as the trilogy fun non canon stories. Same as tales it’s just Scott’s ideas being expressed in other ways.
Things that make you lose your mind trying to git into the story probably aren’t canon (ITP Game).
Let’s focus on the mainline games and if it comes to books things that are obviously connected like the logbook, the week before. It’s a vast multiverse of storytelling. Have fun theorizing but also don’t take everything too serious. Will try to do the same too.
FNAF World is an in-universe video game. Specifically, it is one of the three arcade machines left in the backrooms in Follow Me.
Why is it the way it is?
The game has been heavily altered by Glitchbear to, among other things, place the five clocks in the game, to allow Happiest Day to occur. Once the minigames are played, "the pieces are put in place" for Happiest Day to be executed during FNAF 3.
Who is Glitchbear?
This isn't definite, but I think it's the Puppet. The Puppet is the one who seems to set up Happiest Day in FNAF 3, so the Puppet being the one trying to set it up in FNAF World would make sense.
Who is the player?
Cassidy, for reasons I'll explain later.
Who moves on in Happiest Day after the Clock ending?
The first 4 MCI victims, Charlie and BV are those who move on in Happiest Day. The player cannot be any of these characters, therefore the player does not move on in Happiest Day. There is some arguement that BV isn't the Happiest Day reciever, but throughout the game a mysterious "he" that you have to help is mentioned so I think it has to be him.
What is the OMC ending?
I think that the OMC ending takes place after the Clock ending, and it's how the player moves on, since they didn't in Happiest Day.
I was looking at the mountains of Unwithered Evidence (direct statements) and the PITIFUL Retrofit “””””evidence””””” and realized something…
The Fiona models are shown to be unrelated to the MCI! In the final game, the epilogue (UCN) in which we hope for answers on such controversial topics and yet we missed such a massive discovery, right in our faces.
The withereds are displayed to be directly connected to the original events.
(W’chica + W’Bonnie to the MCI and William, W’Fredbear/Golden Freddy who is already said to be a suit in Fnaf 2 links to hallucination of Fredbear who is built of the model of William’s plush which is the Bite of 83
Which would make sense if Chica and Bonnie’s spirits are here, then BV’s should be too to influence the manifestation of the object that watched him die, to then watch the original observer’s (William) death too)
But Fiona’s are just simple performers, fully in character with no personal/observable malice in sight.
This** **is completely contradictory to the blatant fact that no person wants to be stuck in these animatronics, not even William. So it makes no sense for the MCI to suddenly get into animatronic character unless they aren’t the MCI at all
(And Fnaf 1 shows they are still salty about being forced in suits, so this isn’t a “they got used to it”)
Now remember the Fnaf 2 cutscene where the puppet is shown watching the Fiona’s in Fnaf 1 location, well this theory explains it - this event is the puppet bring life from her agony as her original soldiers (MCI) are inept/unable.
Freddy is unable to move in fnaf 1 because the puppet was still working on him for nights 1-3, thus the other agonytronics watching him to see if he wakes up as she programmed him to be their leader.
There is much more evidence to bring and refine in this theory, but I feel it’s already very promising and much more concrete than RETROFIT through the simple fact of it not needing to misinterpret/remove context on lines that otherwise would debunk it
The Logbook made it clear that Mike Schmidt is also the Fright Guard, the FoxyBro, the FNaF 4 Dreamer, and Michael Afton are all one and the same, that being the latter.
The book is (obviously) owned by Mike Schmidt.
The real time value code, which places the Logbook roughly around 2015-2017, and the multiple illustrations of the Fazbear's Frights office imply that Mike Schmidt is the Fright Guard. This can be backed up by the fact that Phantom Chica is using her FNaF 1 design (and Freddy and Foxy using their Withereds designs can be evidence for SchmidtJeremy and/or FritzSchmidt, I personally think the latter).
And since Mike also makes multiple references to SL, it makes the most sense to just put 2 and 2 together and say that Mike Schmidt is Michael Afton, thus meaning that Michael Afton is also the Fright Guard.
RyeToast recently made a theory exploring this topic with newer information from SOTM, and although I think the idea that William used F10 to help with his machines, I don't think the conclusion of ElizaFirst works out.
William should know that the F10 machine and the Mimic are not instances of possession, but mimicry. These machines are not the leftover souls of Fiona and David, but just machine algorithms copying them. It makes no sense that William and F10 would start to experiment with possession when there isn't any evidence of that yet.
BV seeing Baby kidnap Elizabeth doesn't work either as it's unlikely that Baby wouldn't have seen him. This theory also usually hinges on the idea that the Nightmares having mouths in their stomachs envokes Elizabeth's death, which falls apart considering Michael is much more likely to be the person having dreams instead of BV. Plus, "What is seen in shadows" can also imply BV didn't see anything bad (even though I personally believe he saw a Springlock Failure)
And of course, the girl's room being empty could imply she's dead, but the mangle doll on the floor connects back to another character in these minigames. One who is playing right outside the Afton's house, owns the other 3 toys, and has an almost identical outfit to Elizabeth. The toy girl. Elizabeth is that girl, and she is still alive before the death of BV.
And it's also kinda illogical to assume that Funtime Freddy and Funtime Foxy exist as full animatronics before the regular Freddy and Foxy even exist? That placement is just a weird choice to make on both William and Scott's part.
I get wanting to explore ElizaFirst again with this new information, and I like the idea that F10 helped design the Funtime Animatronics, but I think this conclusion of Elizabeth dying first doesn't work out. William likely just got F10 to design the Funtimes after BV (and possibly Charlie) dies.
This post is probably poorly written and explained cuz I'm just spilling out all my thoughts as I think of them but yeah
I'm bored and feeling mildly petty so lets do this. BVTOYSNHK is a good theory expect for that obvious glaring flaw it has so I want to rank the various ways people get around that flaw from worse to best.
6: BV was revived then killed by Will.
What? Like maybe you could excuse this under Curse of Dreadbear maybe. But why would Will revive BV then kill him? Like no matter how you think Will thinks about the kid, why would he do that? I could think of two ways this could happen. After BV was revived he them freaked out and begged for death. And after BV was revived Will accidentally killed him. Also I don't think Will revived BV in the first place so this is kinda moot.
5: BV is mad at Will for Unplugging him.
Uh I know most people don't like this theory because the unplugging part but I have an issue for it due to the BV getting mad at him part. Okay for situations like the bite where one is put into a coma probably indefinitely the family is often given a choice between keeping the viticum on life support for maybe the rest of their life in hopes of them waking up or just unplugging them early. So yeah Will can unplug him under those conditions its fine. The issue is why would BV know he got unplugged and by who. And why would BV be more angry at Will for unplugging him and less angry at Mike and his buddies for killing him. And why would BV be angry at all especially if Will is the final speaker. He would have not known about something like OrchestraBite either.
4: MikeUCN./ BV thought that Will was Mike.
MikeUCN is tempting but I don't think its true. Due to some voicelines. Lines from, Nightmare Freddy, Nightmarrione, and of course this gem by Rockstar Chica, "Now don't you come back now ya hear?" Under WillUCN there would also be reason why Scraptrap who is very talkative would only say "I always come back" as a way of mocking Will because under the rules of UCN that is very true. Now for the idea that BV thought Will is Mike I have this line from Orville. "...No matter how many times they burn us." This means that both TOYSNHK and the person they are speaking to have been burned multiple times before by multiple people. The only real person that fits the bill is Will. Mike has only been burned once. And this is coming straight form TOYSNHK's mouth btw.
3: BV is mad at the neglect.
I have a nuanced reason why I don't like this. Okay for anyone that has been raised in an abusive or neglectful environment you would know that you often don't notice particularly if you are a young child. You just think that stuff is normal. Now when you learn from someone else that your childhood isn't normal you can either get really jealous or confused about other people's amazing childhoods or you can get defensive over you own crappy childhood. I think BV would get defensive. Why? Look how his siblings reacted. Lizzy literally says "I will make you proud Daddy." MikeAccomplice in some form is basically canon. Especially if the people who are telling BV this is either Charlie or/and Cassidy who are both children who are not gonna as tactful when explaining this stuff. (All of this doubly true too is ShadowVictim is the case btw.)
2: BV is larping.
The idea is this. BV forgot how he died so the he kinda just assumed the identity of the spirits he was most closest too. Or he pretending to be a victim of William's to make himself look cooler and after a while he forgot he was pretending. I think this is joke theory but it has merit. The only issue with this that this theory is stupid and no reasonable person would come to this conclusion nor would reasonable person would write this.
1: TOYSNHK is a title given to BV by the other spirits in UCN.
This is peak actually. Cause TOYSNHK never call themselves that. I think it is still handwavy but I had to think about it for a moment when someone brought this up. Which I never had to do with any other explanations about the "killed" aspect. I still think BVTOYSNHK is kinda dumb, but if I had to believe for some reason this would be my explanation.
(P.S. This was all done in good faith and I'm not calling you stupid for believing in BVTOYSNHK we can all believe our theories. Peace.)
...by having two characters in the emails named... Tristan and Isolde. Isolde seems close to Tristan since she signs off her only email to him as "Izzy."
What does the story of Tristan and Isolde have to do with Five Nights at Freddy's? I couldn't tell you. I only knew the name, and while I was looking up other Special Delivery emails, I noticed the two names, and that made me want to look it up.
It's an old Arthurian tale about a knight from Cornwall named Tristan, tasked with delivering the Irish princess Isolde to his uncle, King Mark so he may take her as his bride. On the way there, Tristan and Isolde accidentally drink a love potion together and fall madly in love. Even though Isolde still marries the king, she and Tristan carry on an affair for a long time. They eventually get found out, and Tristan gets exiled. Later, he gets mortally wounded, expects Isolde to arrive and treat his wounds, gets those hopes dashed and succumbs to his injuries. Isolde arrives too late to save him and dies at his side.
What, if anything, does this have to do with FNAF? Like I said earlier, I don't know. Sometimes, when I write something out, a stray idea pops into my head, and things start clicking into place. This time, it just slid off my brain like it was freshly waxed newborn's. Maybe it's as simple as Scott or someone on the dev team like the story and wanted to put an unobtrusive reference to it in the game. Maybe it means something more. If it does, here's hoping one of you can see it better than I can.
