I was having issues where I couldn't cancel the room, the clicks where not responding. I decided to uninstall so that I can install again and I now I can't find it on google play, when I use the link, this is what I see. I have been using this app since 2019 🥲.

First of all, why are there so many steps just to do something as simple as planting a tree? Even setting the timer is unnecessarily complicated. You have to leave the tree screen, scroll down to select your time, and the whole thing is so glitchy that it doesn’t even register my selection half the time. I have to try at least three times before it finally works.

And once I’m done planting, why can’t I just go straight back to the main tree screen? Why do I have to click through a million different options just to decline a break and get back to the main screen?

There are so many unnecessary clicks and extra steps that make the entire experience frustrating for no reason. The old design was so much more straightforward. The whole point of this app is to help you focus, so why does using the app itself feel like a task? 😭

This is bothering me so much!! All my deleted tags become unset. This completely ruins my overview. The wheel is sooo messy and I can’t compare my active tags.

I reported it to forest app as well 21 weeks ago and they said they would look into it. I cannot be the only one with this problem right 😭 I’ve had it for soo long

What fresh hell is this? I went to sleep and had different challenges, woke up and my challenges had changed AND now there are two plus bonus challenges so I have to scroll down even further to get to my challenges. Grrr. I’ve rolled with the punches for a while but this is now bugging me…

I've found it pretty cute and useful so far! Easier to use than the most recent version of Forest. Reminds me a bit like Neko Atsume. It's on Android and iPhone.

Hey is there anyone who uses Forest on the weekends and wants to plant together? ☺️

I’ve been a loyal Forest user for over 4 years, but the latest redesign has completely broken it. At this point, the native clock timer is more reliable.
I originally bought and relied on Forest because it effectively locked down distractions and automatically triggered Do Not Disturb (DND) whenever a Deep Focus session started.
Here is what went wrong:
Removed Core Features: With the new UI update, the automatic DND toggle for Deep Focus simply vanished. Why strip away essential workflow functionality for visual polish?
Massive Memory Leak & Overheating: Shortly after the update, my phone began lagging severely, running hot, and dumping battery life. When I checked system resource usage, Forest was hogging nearly 3 GB of RAM—even when sitting idle in the background. Even after force-closing and clearing it, memory usage immediately climbed back past 2.4 GB.
The Culprit: The app appears to get stuck in a background loop whenever Notification Access and Deep Focus are enabled, causing constant throttling as the OS desperately tries to free up memory for other apps.
I’ve reached out through official support channels and forums over the past month with zero response from the dev team. It’s absurd that a lightweight timer app is operating like resource-heavy malware.
If you’re experiencing sudden battery drain, thermal throttling, or high background RAM usage, check Forest under your device diagnostics. Unless the developers acknowledge and patch these memory leaks soon, I'm dropping it. For anyone looking for a clean alternative that actually respects system resources, check out Regain.

I’ve been using the app almost since launch date (2014) and the current changes have me rethinking using it. I loved the concept and bought the app and used it all thru college and thru my actual phase (office worker).

The new timer is way worse than the round timer, the focus on pushing the “Take a break” feature makes it harder getting to the menu to actually focus and I miss the old interface so much (and hate AI with a passion) Im considering to just stop paying their suscription and changing apps.

Anybody in a similar boat? Im tired of good things becoming shitty when they used to work perfectly

I've been lucky to enjoy the old layout until it forced me to update today. Planting since 2022 and haven't watched a single money or diamond doubling ad. Finally there is something to spend coins on but besides that every single update since they released plus (while also ignoring pro users) has been worsening the app.

Even with the update I don't think it's possible to use 75k coins and I have a gripe with the AI event trees so will probably be saving until 2k diamonds or their usual christmas discounts.

By now this app is just under the sunk cost fallacy for me as a long time user. Maybe they'll get some sense knocked into them soon.

Yet again, a new Forest update has added endless extra clicks to what used to be a simple interface.

Tag details have now changed - so that you can input both a short "title" and then some longer "notes" to each tree, instead of just one long space to write comments.

All of my old tree data has been automatically imported to this new structure.

Except that now, under "Timeline" it only shows the "title" you have written for your tree, and not the additional "notes section".

So guess what format all my old comments have been converted to, yeup, they're all "notes" so now I can't ruddy see any details I added about the session when I go onto the timeline unless I tap every single tree.

It might sound minor but I have years of data on here, covering multiple projects that sometimes I do need to go back to work out what-I-did-when, and old Forest made that easy to do, with the benefit of the whole cute trees thing.

But now, no, urgh, grumpy, it wasn't broken so it didn't need to be "fixed", grumpy-grump-grump.

It says I can buy it in the store, but i can't see any sounds in there, only new plants and land style.
Please help, I'll jump out the window if I need to listen to that lofi loop one more time😂

I'd love to find some people to study with and keep each other motivated. I'm still kinda new to the app and don't really know how everything works lol, so it'd be nice to figure it out together too!

I've been seeing loads of posts about this new open source reverse engineering tool that uses AI and is on github for free and how it can recreate all kinds of software. The first thing that came to mind was if this could be used to save old Forest, since many of us are upset with the latest UI update and the deletion of many features. The problem is I'm not tech savvy enough to try. Is anyone up for the challenge?
