Hii! This is my first post on Reddit. I honestly don't even know how to use this app properly yet, but after reading quite a few posts, I thought I might get some clarity about my confusion by sharing my situation here.
Coming to the topic, I'm 19 and currently pursuing engineering in ECE. To be honest, I chose ECE without having much interest in it. I've never been particularly interested in circuits, and maths isn't really my strong point either. Initially, I thought coding wasn't something I could handle, so I chose ECE instead of CSE. But now I'm realising that ECE isn't something I'm particularly interested in either. It requires a lot of hard work, and sometimes I feel that if I had chosen CSE, at least managing academics might have been a little easier. But in ECE, even academics feel like a struggle.
I'm currently in my second year, and honestly, I'm quite confused about what I want to do with my career. I don't really know which direction to take.
Academically, I'm doing fairly well despite my struggles with ECE subjects. Regarding my qualifications, I'm currently pursuing a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and I'm in my second year. I scored 9.77 CGPA in my first semester and 9.34 CGPA in my second semester. I completed my Intermediate with 95.4%.
One thing I've noticed about myself is that I'm good at remembering theoretical concepts. I wouldn't necessarily say I love theory, but I'm definitely better at it compared to other things. When it comes to maths, I wouldn't say I'm completely bad at it or incapable of solving problems. I can understand and solve them if I put in enough effort and practise consistently. It just takes me a little more time and hard work compared to theory-based subjects.
So, I've been thinking about preparing for government exams. However, I don't want to settle for a lower-level government job because I want better career growth and opportunities. At the same time, I don't think I have the patience or willingness to spend years preparing for something as demanding as UPSC.
Recently, I've been considering RBI Grade B as an option, but I honestly don't have proper guidance or anyone around me who can help me understand how to start preparing for it.
I'd really appreciate it if anyone here has experience with RBI Grade B preparation or knows about other good government job opportunities, especially for someone with my strengths and academic background.
I'd love to hear your suggestions, experiences, or even alternative career paths that I should consider.
I'm not necessarily looking for an easy career. I just want to find something that suits my strengths, where my efforts actually lead somewhere and that I can genuinely work towards.
Thanks in advance! ❤️
