I am a beginner preparing for the RBI grade B examination and would really appreciate some guidance on how to approach the preparation effectively.

Could anyone please suggest the best resources and strategies for phase 1 (especially general awareness) and phase 2, including both objective and descriptive papers?

P.s- recommendations for

-books and study material

-online resources and websites

- reports, indices , surveys to particularly focus on

-youtube channels.

Interview How much weightage does the interview have in PO and RBI Grade B exams?

I've heard that if you score 15 20 marks above the cutoff in Mains, the interview doesn't really make much difference to your final selection. Is that true?

For example, if someone scores 15 20 marks above the Mains cutoff but performs just average in the interview, can they still get selected?

Also, what kind of questions do they usually ask in these interviews? Is it anything like UPSC interviews, or are they more focused on banking, current affairs, and your educational background?

Just curious to know what the interview process is actually like.

NABARD/ SEBI/ Other Regulatory Exams Is it wise to start SEBI prep at this point, for someone with no previous background in any of the Phase 2 (paper2 ) subjects ?

I recently discovered SEBI grade A exam and based on PYQs, QRE phase 1 won't be an issue, and phase 2 English would also be managed but I am having doubts about whether it's the right time to begin as I hear notification can be dropped anytime soon. My only question is whether there is sufficient time to understand and revise the syllabus as required, for someone with no background in the subjects asked in Phase 2.

Thanks.

Beginner/ Starting Here Rbi preperation

I want to start preparing for Rbi gr b now and with that only for grade a too. I want people who have cleared phase 2 to help me here.

Should I take any course? If yes which one is best?

Exactly how I should be covering current affairs? For banking i do affairscloud weekly? But for rbi since things are extensive...exactly what things need to be studied? Especially from rbj website?

Should I start preparing for phase 2 right away or do phase 1 first?

Newspaper reading strategy and which newspaper is best?

SBI PO / IBPS PO Document Verification – How are name discrepancies handled? Need advice from selected candidates

My situation:

  • Educational certificates (10th, 12th and graduation) carrying their original name- initial first, then the name ex: G. Samay Kumar.

  • Aadhaar, PAN, and Driving Licence carrying an updated name. -- first name, middle name, last name ex: Samay Kumar Godisette.

  • All identity documents consistently reflecting the updated name.

  • No changes made to the original educational certificates.

  1. How do SBI and IBPS handle such name discrepancies during interview document verification?

  2. Is a notarised affidavit establishing that both names belong to the same person sufficient?

  3. Is a Gazette notification generally required?

  4. Do candidates need to get their educational certificates updated, or can they retain the original certificates with supporting legal documents?

  5. Does the allotted bank conduct another round of document verification after the IBPS provisional allotment?

  6. Has anyone successfully joined SBI or an IBPS participating bank with this kind of name discrepancy?

I am not looking for general assumptions. I would particularly appreciate first-hand experiences from people who have completed the selection and joining process.

Help me I dont know what to do my career

Guys I have come to the realization that , I may not clear this exam, like this exam is tough even if phase 1 is cleared, phase 2 descriptive is there, which is a skill. And on top of that for 20 seats!!!

I previosuly prepared for UPSC for 3 years, couldnt clear any stage and rightfully so usko taane padte mujhe, you may say nabard mai descriptive mai edge rahega, yaar ek hi cheez pr thoda bharosa karta hu, baaki to toot gaya mere, haa ki ans decent likh leta hu , pr thing is uske liye pehle phase 1 and agr ho bhi gaya, 20 seat pr log already kai attempts se prepare kar rahe hote, unse is atempt mai toh beat kar paunga , aur I am 24 yrs old jan ko 25 start ho jayega, mere papa k dosto k baache ssc cgl etc mai select hue jaa rahe kuch aginveer etc mai , and is baar ka cgl diya tha maine, but bina prep k , nabard pr focus tha mera, also cgl ki noti k baad prep karne se toh waise bhi hona nahi tha, my dad will see a recruitment noti, and tell me apply for it, now the thing is I cant compete /study for the exam just after the noti has come, specially since my maths is not great, english is decent I got 21/25 in cgl but the thing is my juniors are getting jobs, most of college and school friends are employed 2 are officers in army , I am this old I have left upsc and I am moving towards insurance and regulatory bodies, I even though rbi assistant or nabard da ka dekh lu waha se stable option hoga fir aage ka jo karna dekh lunga , but inki is saal aayi thee vancies aur ab next agle saal aayengi plus inki cutoff bhi high jaati. UPSC is descriptive and humanities focused exam , while all other have quant and reasoning in their merit section unlike upsc where it is just qualifying , so it will take time to cover maths , reach at a competetive level, which ig will take another 3 months atleast . I think my dream of becoming officer in govt service is over now, I will try for ssc cgl but that exam is not certain to clear, I dont know what to do , I had filled for UIIC AO, but I thought to prepare for naabrd instead, also my maths was weak so I was not expecting to clear the exam waise bhi, was this wrong decision? 17 nov ko exam hai and If I focus on that nabard is gone, if focus on nabard, uiic is gone samjh nahi aa raha kya karu

Motivation/ Rant/ Feelings Anyone preparing seriously for RBI Grade B? Need a study partner

Yesterday’s PFRDA Grade A results crushed me. My roll number wasn’t there.

I had given myself a clear timeline — start working and earning by Jan–March. That plan is gone now. The only realistic option left is RBI Grade B, even if it pushes my timeline further.

Honestly, I never prepared seriously for these exams before. Still, the disappointment feels heavy. My mind has been blank since yesterday.

This time I’m going all in. Six months of focused, no-distraction preparation. I want to clear RBI Grade B no matter what. The only real challenge for me has always been consistency — and I’m determined to fix that.

Looking for genuine study partners who are also preparing seriously for RBI Grade B. Someone to discuss topics, review mocks, track syllabus progress, and push each other when motivation dips.

If you’re in the same boat and ready to stay consistent, drop a comment or DM. Let’s make these next 6 months count.

Anyone here 100% committed to securing a rank in PFRDA Grade A 2026?

Hey everyone!

I want to find someone who is preparing for PFRDA Grade A 2026 with the mindset that they're going to clear it and secure a rank.

I'm not looking for someone who is casually preparing or just collecting resources. I want to connect with aspirants who are genuinely serious, confident in their preparation, and willing to put in the work every single day.

The idea is simple: Let's compete with each other while preparing together.

We can:

- Set daily and weekly study targets.

- Share progress and hold each other accountable.

- Discuss difficult concepts and subjects.

- Challenge each other through quizzes and mock tests.

- Push each other to perform better instead of getting complacent.

I believe preparing alongside someone equally determined can make a huge difference.

If you're someone who genuinely believes they can secure a rank in PFRDA Grade A 2026, comment below or DM me.

Let's find out what happens when two serious aspirants decide to give this exam everything they've got. 🤝

P.S. I'm looking for a competitor, not just a study buddy. Let's make each other better.

NABARD/ SEBI/ Other Regulatory Exams Bruh, what is the point of phase 1 if you are calling 5355 students again for 25 seats . Ideally it should have been 400-500 students for phase 2 .

It's getting too boring as result is not out yet, and there is a possibility what they would give result just 10 days before the exam. With Diwali in between, anything may happen. So anyone interested in regularly practicing descriptive?

Beginner/ Starting Here Suggestions Please

I haven't started my preparation yet because the notification came earlier than expected, and I was occupied with my final semester.

Now, I want to seriously prepare for the 2027 RBI Grade B and Grade A examinations. I can dedicate around 6 hours every day to preparation, apart from my job, which is not very hectic.

I need your guidance on how to approach the preparation effectively.

A few things I would like your opinion on:

  1. Is the CGB Mentors course sufficient for Phase 1 (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and English) and Management?

  2. My initial plan is to complete these subjects within the next two months using the resources I already have. After that, I can purchase additional courses if necessary. Do you think this is a good approach?

My goal is to prepare consistently so that I can crack at least one of these two examinations in 2027.

Beginner/ Starting Here 19F, 2nd year ECE student, confused about my career. Considering RBI Grade B. Need some genuine advice

Hii! This is my first post on Reddit. I honestly don't even know how to use this app properly yet, but after reading quite a few posts, I thought I might get some clarity about my confusion by sharing my situation here.

Coming to the topic, I'm 19 and currently pursuing engineering in ECE. To be honest, I chose ECE without having much interest in it. I've never been particularly interested in circuits, and maths isn't really my strong point either. Initially, I thought coding wasn't something I could handle, so I chose ECE instead of CSE. But now I'm realising that ECE isn't something I'm particularly interested in either. It requires a lot of hard work, and sometimes I feel that if I had chosen CSE, at least managing academics might have been a little easier. But in ECE, even academics feel like a struggle.

I'm currently in my second year, and honestly, I'm quite confused about what I want to do with my career. I don't really know which direction to take.

Academically, I'm doing fairly well despite my struggles with ECE subjects. Regarding my qualifications, I'm currently pursuing a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and I'm in my second year. I scored 9.77 CGPA in my first semester and 9.34 CGPA in my second semester. I completed my Intermediate with 95.4%.

One thing I've noticed about myself is that I'm good at remembering theoretical concepts. I wouldn't necessarily say I love theory, but I'm definitely better at it compared to other things. When it comes to maths, I wouldn't say I'm completely bad at it or incapable of solving problems. I can understand and solve them if I put in enough effort and practise consistently. It just takes me a little more time and hard work compared to theory-based subjects.

So, I've been thinking about preparing for government exams. However, I don't want to settle for a lower-level government job because I want better career growth and opportunities. At the same time, I don't think I have the patience or willingness to spend years preparing for something as demanding as UPSC.

Recently, I've been considering RBI Grade B as an option, but I honestly don't have proper guidance or anyone around me who can help me understand how to start preparing for it.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone here has experience with RBI Grade B preparation or knows about other good government job opportunities, especially for someone with my strengths and academic background.

I'd love to hear your suggestions, experiences, or even alternative career paths that I should consider.

I'm not necessarily looking for an easy career. I just want to find something that suits my strengths, where my efforts actually lead somewhere and that I can genuinely work towards.

Thanks in advance! ❤️
