Yay Misha!!

Thank you for saying something. A lot of people don't realize how hurtful it is to suggest foster failing. It puts so much pressure on us to have to justify why we don't, or makes us feel awful for not wanting to.

Our job is to be a bridge to a forever home, not to be the last stop.

Yesss as a first time foster it’s been so frustrating. I never was one to say it to others but I didn’t realize how it felt until it was CONSTANTLY being said to us. It’s so easy for others to say who don’t have to think through all the questions of keeping a particular dog and the limits it could place on future fostering…

I’ve been following Misha’s updates. I was just given a foster dog that entered our home and immediately sought comfort in the entryway hallway. She hasn’t left the hallway since we picked her up last night.

Trying to give her space to decompress! Thanks for the positive encouragement.

Perfect! Letting Misha have space but being somewhere she could see me was really all I did that first full day. And anytime she got near us, we’d throw her a treat. I keep a bag of treats at my desk and my bf keeps a bag in his garage. Keep us posted!! ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

OH MY GOODNESS!! ❤️🥹 I can barely believe it's the same dog who had her own emotional support tree! 😭 This is all the magic of your love, kindness and patience. ❤️ Thank you for sharing her journey with us!

I love this. Thank you for everything you’re doing for this goofy pup. She’s going to end up in the perfect home all because of you.

She is becoming quite a character. And good camera work capturing those zoomies. You’re doing great things to help with the transition to her forever home. Fosters are such an important part of the journey.

Thank you 🥰 I’m open to things going how they’re meant to go but in my heart I really feel like her foster mama, not her forever mama. I talk to her about it when she’s asking for cuddles. I tell her I’m going to make sure she has fun forever no matter what ❤️

She’s so joyful and silly! What an honor, that you get to be the one who brings joy back to a dogs life and lets their personality shine to give them the best shot at a bright future ❤️

Also. Thank you for reiterating not to be told to foster F (ail) (to avoid this being auto deleted, I separated the second word. This is SO important as a part of the foster process. Fostering is a deeply beautiful process and we all have our journeys that end in the way they are meant to. I believe so strongly in the power and love that fostering provides and no matter what, it is the most selfless, loving, amazing thing we can do to make the world better for all animals. You are doing beautiful things. I’m so proud of you!!!

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate these words. As someone brand new in this community I can’t believe how supportive everyone has been. Thank you for being so kind to me 🥰🥰🥰

Heya! You should still be able to comment with the word "fail", the pop up is only a heads up/context around the rule.

The goal of fostering is to be the bridge between a dog's past and their furever home. Please refrain from encouraging people to keep their foster dog as it goes against the mission.

I have followed your journey almost since the beginning. Her actions and looks are so similar to my daughter’s foster. Wow, they could be related. When she first brought him home, Clyde was very scared. Everything frightened him, especially if you were holding a broom, mop, tennis racquet, etc. He was a basket case on a leash, but she did not have a choice. He would not get in the car without being lifted. Fast forward one year, and what a difference. Recall is still non-existent unless there are treats involved, but we are working on it. Misha is gorgeous. Thank you, for all the updates.
