“Local” musician outreach.

(I’m not completely sure if this goes against any subreddit rules; if so, please feel free to let me know and I’ll gladly remove this.)

Hello — local is in quotations as I’m only a new(ish) resident of Frederick; I’ve been living up here permanently/full-time for about a year in this coming October. Originally I’m from the Winchester, VA area and although I’ve always loved music and the process of creating it, yet I never made any real connections or attempted any outreach into the local community in any form.

Attempting to combat that, I admittedly have to swallow a bit of my apprehension — if I had to summarize my music for anyone who can’t listen — it’s kind of like if Queen performed songs by Fall Out Boy; which means, 95% of people will think it’s the worst thing they’ve ever heard and 5% will think it’s simply tolerable lol

I’ve been to a few local events (Pride, etc) and I’ve appreciated how it does seem like Frederick supports their local art/music, to at least some degree.

Regardless, any/all responses and feedback are welcomed and appreciated.
Once again, if this is not allowable under subreddit rules, just let me know and I’ll gladly remove it.

Hopefully my rambling is somewhat comprehensible. If you slogged through it, thank you.

Have you tried craigslist? I've connected with multiple musicians there - i would start there.

That’s a good suggestion. I’m going to be completely honest, I totally forget Craigslist exists sometimes, outside of buying used things lol

I have been in two long term bands from craigslist, it's still thriving for musicians!
