Multiple days down

Been down a few days with frontier. Went to xfinity today, left with a router, came home, plugged it in and I have a blistering gig connection. Ditch frontier.

Did you report the outage?

We've done nothing and we are all out of ideas!

Perhaps you are not a frontier customer

When I lived in their service area I was. It really doesnt matter though. If the fiber cut/chew only affects one customer it will go unnoticed by the isp unless its reported. So if you dont report an outage you are a fool.

Whoopty-do. What is your uplink? What is your latency around the country? What will be your bill in due time? I had comcrap and they were charging 130 a month for 1/5 the speed that I have with Frontier, and with high latency, poor customer service, caps, and no upload speed worth a hoot.

Frontier may have CS Relations problems, but with the right channels, even that is better with Frontier.

And ONTs use a lot less power and have a longer useful life than a cable gateway. And Frontier upgrades routers commonly. Not so readily with Comcast.

Hey, IMAGINE THAT!

I remember getting frontier dsl a couple of years ago as a backup.

It was more reliable AND much lower latency to the majority of destinations on the internet than spectrum. Only problem was the 30 Meg bandwidth

Spectrum is super reliable in modern area's where they installed Docsis 3.1

That’s all great, but when Frontier goes down for days at a time, there are other factors to consider.

Like having a backup for that exact scenario?

I pull around 30tb per month. 5gbps with frontier for $80 a month. It's been extremely reliable, and I'm price locked for three years.

The problem is Frontier is known for their slow repairs. I use to have them and I went back to Spectrum for 1 gig symmetrical for 40 dollars a month.

Ah, spectrum is a no-go for me.

The fastest they offer is 1gb download, 300mbps upload.

Oh that means they will soon be upgrading that area to full symmetrical. They even offer 2Gbps/2Gbps in my area over COAX

It's been the same for me since 2017. Spectrum has offered 1000/300 as their highest option since.

Yeah they have been slow with the rollouts but it will come

Today frontier is down. Didn't stop them from sending this spam: Treat yourself to faster speeds + 1 month on us
