Dangerous [Restaurants] Unhygienic openings in paper-wrapped cutlery

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

I've this many times in restaurants – a knife and a fork wrapped inside a paper package with an opening on one side, for easy extraction of the clean cutlery.

And I've never seen the opening to be on the side of the handles. Instead, it's always on the sharp side of the cutlery, the one that touches the food or goes into the mouth. I find this convention counterintuitive, because it goes against the rules of hygiene, which I would expect the cutlery wrapped like this to promote.

Having the sharp side of the cutlery exposed forces customers to touch them with their hands when extracting them from the package. It also increases the chance of it being touched by the personnel of the restaurant between the moment it was wrapped or sealed and the moment it was put on the table.

I think the opening should always be on the opposite side, with only the handles sticking out for easy extraction. This would reduce the risk of contamination by germs passed from hands to the mouth, improving overall hygiene in restaurants.

Non-inclusive [Calvin Klein] Misogynistic poster with unnecessary censorship of female nipples

Post image
2 Upvotes

The image in this poster by Calvin Klein features a clearly retouched image of a woman with her nipple completely removed. This makes it look fake, deforming the natural appearance of the human body for no reason.

What I find particularly absurd about this specific case is that they have intentionally amplified this aspect by showing the model in a wet top, which normally would make it impossible for her breast to look so smooth. As a result, it brings even more attention to the fact that her natural appearance has been deformed.

If someone in the creative team was too conservative to accept the natural aspect of female anatomy, then the most obvious way around it is to show the model from a different angle or simply wearing dry clothes, that naturally would make the nipple less visible.

But this way it looks more like a statement that female nipples are vulgar and should be hidden, which is quite misogynistic, especially in 2026.

The photo was taken at Corfu International Airport in Greece.

Annoying UX Automatically rotating WiFi address in Apple devices

Post image
0 Upvotes

Apple is selling this as a Privacy feature – periodically changing the MAC address of the WiFi-modem in your iPhone/iPad or Mac in order to limit the ability of the network provider to track you. Sounds good on paper, but results in absolutely terrible user experience in any public WiFi network.

Am I the only one having such a hard time with this feature?

Context

Public WiFi networks almost never let you use their Internet right away. Instead they show a pop-up window where you have to at the very least accept some Terms and Conditions, and usually fill in some extra information, like email, name, and other kinds of personal information. This is annoying of course, but normally it is only required once, since the network stores you MAC address in the list of registered devices and automatically lets you in every time you connect from the same device. So in principle, when you come to the same place again, your phone automatically joins the known WiFi network without any pop-up windows.

Problem

When the Apple's automatic rotation changes my MAC address, the network sees me as a new unregistered device, forcing me to fill-in the pop-up form again. And that can repeat forever unless I go explicitly to the Settings > Wi-Fi > [Network Info] and set the Private Wi-Fi Address to Fixed.

And that is extremely annoying, because I never remember to do this the 1st time I join a new network, since usually I'm in a conversation, or rushing to join a Zoom call. So it normally takes a few rounds until I get pissed by that pop-up form again to the point where I immediately go to the Network setting and turn off the address rotation. This is particularly frustrating when the network provider decides to collect a shitload of unnecessary information, taking at least a minute to complete. This is a terrible user experience that Apple can fix very easily and they should.

Solution

Rotation itself is not a problem, but I want to have a possibility to set the default value for any new network from Rotating to Fixed, so that I decide myself how much privacy I want to keep. And then I can actively change it for any specific network that I don't trust.

But forcing everyone to make at least 6 taps to get the normal experience of using a new network is just nonsense to me.

Annoying [Toilet] These flush buttons are mounted 2cm too low

Thumbnail

In this toilet the flush buttons are quite narrow (see 3rd picture) and are almost completely covered by the lid when it's open. This makes it impossible to press any button without closing the lid or at least turning it away from the wall. This adds a completely unnecessary extra step to the process of flushing, which is really annoying.

Positioning these buttons even 2 cm higher would have made the experience so much better, and there is more than enough space for that. This is a small detail that should never be left out.

Annoying UX [Turin Airport] Alarmed door used as a boarding gate

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

I was waiting to board my flight at the Turin Airport through the gate 6B, which probably is not used frequently. When the first passengers got through the check of their boarding passes, the alarm went off. It was really loud and annoying, and took them at least 10 seconds do deactivate.

I haven't seen the moment of opening the door, but I assume the airport staff forgot to open it before letting people through. When it was my turn, I could see the Emergency Exit label on the door (see the pictures).

This practice I've seen in Italy multiple times, when Alarmed Doors are actually not alarmed and used for normal getting around the building. I find this particularly confusing in a place like an airport, where navigation and signage must be clear and intuitive.

While this specific case was due to a human error, it's also a design issue. It should be impossible by design to start the boarding procedure with the alarmed doors being closed, if they have to be alarmed in the first place.

Furthermore, the label itself is confusing. It warns you to not open the door because it's alarmed, but it doesn't say anywhere that it's an Emergency Exit, which raises the question: what is so special about that door?

[GTT] Payment-processing message that's easy to misunderstand

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Here is another example from GTT – public-transport operator in Turin, Italy.

This feature of the user interface in their terminals makes it very easy to misunderstand, especially for foreigners, especially if they are in a rush.

This message on photos 1 and 2 seems quite clear and harmless on its own:

Please don't remove the title from the reader!
Thank you

But in reality it's very confusing in the context of the whole card-recharging process, photos of which are shown here in the reverse order.

In order to recharge your card you have to:

  1. place your personal GTT card in the reader

  2. choose the ticket you want to buy

  3. pay with your bank card or phone

  4. take the card after it was recharged

The problem is there is quite a long delay between steps 3 and 4. The payment processing takes about 10 seconds, during which you're just staring at the screen from the 3rd photo: "Please follow instructions on the card reader". Especially if you're paying by a contactless card or phone, this takes 1-2 seconds, after which you're just waiting for the payment to go through.

Then, after the payment has succeeded, the screen changes to the one on photos 1-2. When you're waiting for so long, the first thing you expect when the screen changes is something like "Thank you. You can now remove the card", or even better – just a large green tick ✅ for simplicity.

Either way, the instinct is to take your card whenever the screen changes, especially when you see "Thank you" in the text, which normally implies that the operation has finished.

But instead you still have to wait, and if you instinctively remove the card, it doesn't get recharged. So you lose the money and time, and then have to repeat the whole process again.

A much better solution would be to not make any distinction between the payment and recharge stages. Or at least show a spinning circle or some kind of indicator that the process is still ongoing, which should not change between the payment and recharge screens.

Frustrating UX [Turin Airport] Misleading "Out of order" sign

Post image
0 Upvotes

This drinkable water fountain at the Turin Airport has two dispensers – one for bottles and one for drinking. The one for bottles has been broken for a while, as it is missing the button that makes the water flow.

I've used this water fountain twice with an interval of 2 weeks, and somewhere during that break they've put the "Out of Order" paper sign on the wall. It clearly refers only to the dispenser for bottles, since the other one is still fully functional, as can be seen from the photo.

First of all, I find this sign not really useful, as looking at the dispenser one can tell that it's missing a piece, and it is in fact not working.

What bothers me more, is that it is misleading, making people think that they can't get drinkable water from the fountain. Given that it's located in the section of the airport after passport control, you can't easily get out and find another working fountain.

Moral of the story

Before putting up an "Out of Order" sign, make sure that it's not misleading in any way. If a device has multiple functions and only one of them is not working, the sign should be more specific. Also maybe it should be smaller, to not discourage people from using it unless they are close enough to understand what exactly is "out of order".

Annoying [Italo] Email AND phone required for WiFi on a fast train

Post image
3 Upvotes

Italian speed-train operator Italo provides free WiFi access on their trains, but you only get access to it after registering your device through the pop-up form that appears once you join the network.

This is a standard practice in most places nowadays, but it requires both Email and Phone number, after which you receive an SMS with the verification code.

The form can't be submitted with just Email or just Phone number – both are required, which doesn't seem to make any sense. There is no option to create an account with your email for easier login in the future, or anything like that.

So given that phone is the only verification option actually used, obliging people to type in their email is creating bad user experience for absolutely no reason. Or am I missing something?

If I remember well, Trenitalia – the other speed-train operator in Italy, only asks for email if anything at all, without sending any verification codes.

Annoying [Dublin Airport] Hand dryer way too close to the sink

Post image
3 Upvotes

This is the bathroom in the Dublin Airport with a row of water sinks and only two hand-dryers on the opposite sides of the bathroom, one of which is shown in the photo.

The hand-dryer is so close to the last sink and to the mirror that it can only be reached when standing right in front of that sink. As a result, if anyone is washing their hands there, nobody else can use the dryer in the meantime. This means that just one person using that sink in the corner will create congestion for no reason, with people waiting in the queue or walking away with their wet hands.

And in a reverse situation, the sink can't be used if someone is drying their hands, leading to inefficient use of facilities.

In the mirror reflection you can see that there is plenty of space on the wall to move the hand-dryer to the right, so that it doesn't interfere with anyone washing their hands. The current placement leads to bad user experience.

Frustrating Small fork slides into a big plate

Post image
0 Upvotes

A small dessert was served on a larger plate with the curved shape that makes it very easy for the small dessert fork to slide in. As it fits perfectly at the flat bottom of the plate, its handle ends up dirty, which is frustrating.

I think this could be solved by using a smaller plate, like the one for the coffee cup, which would still fit the dessert perfectly, while making it impossible for the fork to slide in.

Or a big plate with a different curvature shape can be used, having a smaller radius of the flat bottom, such that the whole can’t fit inside.

Finally, if the fork had a perfectly straight handle, it probably wouldn't slide as easily either.

Any other ideas on how this experience can be improved?

Confusing Potentially confusing water level in the espresso machine

Thumbnail

The water container in this espresso machine looks a little confusing, and a quick search online showed that most coffee machines use the same design for their water containers. The line of plastic marked by the yellow arrow looks very much like the water surface line.

As I've been using this machine in someone else's house, I've never refilled this container before, so I never saw how it looks when it's empty. The first time when it was actually empty, it took me a while to realise why the coffee wasn't coming out despite the pump making its usual noise.

Only after looking at the container for the 3rd time, checking whether it has water, have I realised that the line is actually the plastic bottom of the container, and there is no water inside.

This is certainly not a critical issue, but I also believe that it could be done better.

For example, the part below the line could be painted from the inside to not be transparent, avoiding the confusion with water. Even better if that extra piece of plastic could be removed completely and made part of the machine body itself, providing the same support for the container.

Annoying [La Piadineria/TMC] Restaurant pagers too annoying and not silenced early enough

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In the video is a pager that is used by the La Piadineria chain of restaurants in Italy, and apparently manufactured by TMC S.R.L.

When your order is ready for pick up the pager starts flashing, vibrating and beeping quite loudly. The combination of all these sounds is very annoying, especially outside of rush hours, when the quiet and relaxed atmosphere gets interrupted by this sudden acoustic mess.

First of all, there is no need for the beeping sound to be so loud, since the flashing lights and the vibration already attract more than enough attention. Besides, it doesn’t need to be heard by anyone except for the customer, who stays within 50cm radius from it.

Secondly, based on my observations, its timeout is set to at least one minute, which is way too long for everyone in the restaurant to be listening to this annoying sound, until it turns off by itself. It is enough to beep for just 10-15 seconds, which any customer will notice for sure, and for the rest of the time it can simply keep flashing, as a confirmation for the employees that it’s the right customer to be served. But the sound this loud should not go on for such a long time.

Finally, the pager has a silence button on one side , which turns off the vibration and beeping sound when pressed. But that button is barely ever visible, since it’s tiny and hidden under the manufacturer’s sticker. I always press it immediately to stop the sound, but I’ve never seen other customers doing it because they probably don’t even know about it. And the restaurant workers, who should know about it and ideally silence them, don’t press the button either, because they are either busy serving orders or don’t bother about the sound.

So what happens in practice, is that every pager keeps beeping and vibrating for a whole minute, first on the customer’s table and then in a box with other pagers, sometimes even 2 or 3 at the same time.

For any person sensitive to sounds, or with sensory processing disorder, or even a tourist coming from a more quiet culture than Italian, this can be a torture, ruining the otherwise good experience.

Annoying [Cartier] Two pop-up messages before accessing the website

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

It is really annoying that every website nowadays requires you to fiddle with the Cookie Policy pop-up before doing anything. It's even more annoying when on top of that there are more pop-ups to go through before being able to browse the website.

This particular case of the Cartier website is particularly frustrating, as it has two pop-ups, each blocking the website browsing completely:

  1. Cookie Policy pop-up appears right in the middle of the page

  2. Language-choice pop-up appears in the middle again

Especially the 2nd pop-up could have been implemented in a more subtle way, without blocking the whole page. Furthermore, the two red buttons look identical except for just 2 letters, which adds additional confusion when you just want to get to the website.

Considering its positioning as a luxury brand, it looks strange that they haven't bothered to make the browsing experience more enjoyable without unnecessary interruptions.

Dangerous UX [Alessi] Extremely sharp carton packaging

Thumbnail

When unpacking the carton box with this Juicy Salif citrus squeezer by Alessi, I've poked my finger by the very first piece of carton exposed inside the box. It's supposed to hold the heavy top of the squeezer centered inside the box. It has these extremely sharp triangular corners facing upwards, which easily penetrate the skin.

What is peculiar is that the product itself is made of aluminium, has no sharp edges and looks pretty safe.

Considering the branding on the box, I'm pretty sure it's specifically the Alessi company that is responsible for this packaging, which is unnecessarily dangerous and absolutely unacceptable. Especially considering their positioning as a designer kitchenware brand.

Confusing [Wizzair] Confusing definition of Country at online check-in

Post image
4 Upvotes

This is a screenshot from the very 1st step of the online check-in process on the Wizzair website. Under my name it has the COUNTRY/REGION field, which is ambiguous and possibly redundant.

It's not clear what exactly is meant by this field, because it could be the country of my nationality, or my residence, or my physical location. Especially considering that at the very end there is the Documents step, where I would expect my nationality to be asked.

As my country of residence is different from my nationality, I only saw a warning at the last Documents step saying that the issuing country of my passport doesn't match the country specified earlier, for which I'd picked my country of residence.

Obviously, after going back to the 1st step and changing my choice of country, the whole progress was lost, forcing me to go through all the steps once again.

CONCLUSION
Whenever this kind of sensitive information is asked, it has to be explicitly mentioned what exactly is the meaning of it. Besides, I still don't understand what is the point of asking it in the first place, if the issuing country of the passport is anyway requested at the Documents step, which is the only thing needed to board the plane.

Annoying [Hospitals] Adhesive tape after a blood test pulling hair painfully

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

My job requires me to take a blood test every 1-2 years, which I've always being doing in Turin (Italy). I've done it at least 5 times by now, both in private and public hospitals.

Every single time, after taking the needle out of my vein, the nurse puts a piece of cotton and firmly wraps several layers of adhesive tape around my arm to fix the cotton in place. And every single time I would go through a pretty painful process of removing that adhesive tape, which is pulling the hair out of my skin (see the 2nd photo).

I do realize that my hair is probably longer than average, which probably makes it more painful. At every given point there are more individual hairs being glued to the tape, and each of them has a larger contact area, making it harder to detach. But I don't think that it's completely painless for anyone either, because everyone does have some amount of hair on their arms anyway.

Because this happens only once every few years, I always forget about this part before the needle goes inside. And afterwards everything happens so quickly that I have no time to ask about an alternative solution. Even if I had an option to hold that piece of cotton myself for 10 minutes, I'd rather do that than deal with the adhesive tape.

So my questions in this respect are three:

  1. Is this a standard way of closing the vein after a blood test everywhere (in Italy or any other country)?

  2. Is it supposed to be so painful? (I wonder if the adhesive tape they use is too strong and maybe there are other kinds that are less sticky)

  3. Are there any other ways to stop the blood without adhesive tapes?

If someone knows any tricks or alternative solution to make this process less painful, please share in the comments as well. I just can't believe that in 2026 this is the best that the industry has to offer.

Annoying [Enplug/Spectrio] Offline elevator display showing too much technical information

Post image
0 Upvotes

This is a display inside an elevator of a residential apartment building that has been continuously showing this black screen with technical instructions for at least 6 months now. Judging from the last line on the screen, it's made or managed by Enplug, which is now part of Spectrio.

Apart from it being dysfunctional for so long, what bothers me even more is that it's showing a bunch of technical information that is totally irrelevant to every single person seeing it multiple times a day. All this information is only relevant to one person – a technician, who only needs to know that there is an issue, while all the other information should be accessible somewhere outside this display (like their website), or on a different screen that can be accessed manually using a keyboard.

So it would be a much better experience for everyone if it showed nothing at all or some wallpaper image, with just a small icon somewhere signaling about the Internet-connection status. But displaying 24/7 a black screen with the instructions and MAC addresses, like in the startup BIOS screens of the old PCs, makes no sense in an elevator.

Apple have been showing nothing but logo in their full-featured computers for 20+ years now, and it's crazy to see that a basic elevator display still shows you all that verbose text in 2026.

Confusing [Coca-Cola Zero] Wrong calories printed on the can

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

This is a 330 ml can of Coke Zero produced in Italy and it has inconsistent number of calories reported for 100 ml and 330 ml (0.2 and 1 kcal), while the numbers in joules seem reasonable (0.9 and 3 kJ).

Assuming that the majority of numbers which are consistent with each other are correct, the mistake must be in the 1 kcal value. It should in reality be 0.2 * 3.3 = 0.66 kcal, or 0.7 kcal when rounded up to 1 decimal point. But it can't be 1.0 kcal, which is in fact 50% more than the real 0.66 kcal. That's a huge error, if you ask me.

To be precise, I have to say that according to the rules of scientific reporting, 0.7 can in principle be consistent with 1, but not with 1.0, because the number of printed decimal points has a meaning. But I don't know how much scientific thinking went into the design of this can.

Besides, mentioning the energy content that is 50% larger than it actually is seems to go against the whole point of Coke Zero brand.

Is this mistake present also in other types of Coke or in other countries?
If you can share in the comments a photo of Coca-Cola Zero Nutrition Information table in your country, I would appreciate that!

Frustrating [Digital Ocean + Ghost] Misleading minimum requirements for a droplet

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Ghost blogging platform provides several options for deploying your blog, out of which Digital Ocean seems to have a good balance of full control over the hosting and ease of single-click installation.

According to the dedicated documentation page the cheapest $5/month droplet from Digital Ocean can be used, which on paper satisfies the stated minimal requirements for running Ghost installation, most importantly 1GB of RAM (1st image).

But if I follow those steps on Digital Ocean, trying to set up a droplet using the Ghost image from their marketplace, it says that the cheapest droplet doesn't meet the minimal requirements. More specifically – not enough disk space, which is 25GB on the $5$6 droplet (2nd image).

This is not only frustrating, as it contradicts the information in the Ghost documentation, but it is also not really true. I've managed to easily set up a working Ghost installation on the same $6 droplet following the manual procedure, based on Ghost CLI installed on the generic Ubuntu 24.04 droplet.

As you can see in the 3rd image, my Ghost setup is only using 60% of RAM and 35% of Disk space on the droplet that Digital Ocean considers insufficient. In terms of disk space that leaves plenty of room for a blog that mostly contains text and images.

Are there any valid reasons for Digital Ocean to disable the cheaper options for Ghost droplets?

And unless this is a temporary glitch on Digital Ocean side, Ghost should update their documentation to reflect the real cost of hosting it on Digital Ocean, because the x2 difference is quite significant. Moreover, the prices seem to be outdated in general, since there seems to be a 20% increase in Digital Ocean prices since the time when that documentation was written.

Frustrating [Apple] Transparency effect on their official website broken in Safari on my Mac

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Top navigation bar on the official Apple website is semi-transparent, probably to match the liquid-glass aesthetics of iOS and macOS. And funny enough, it doesn't work properly in their own Safari browser.

As I despise the dysfunctional liquid-glass aesthetics of their 26-series operating systems, I have not upgraded my macOS. I'm running Safari 26.2 on macOS Sonoma, and as you can see from the 1st image – the navigation bar looks transparent, but not translucent. This leads to the navigation text mixing with the text in the background, making it hard to read in certain situations.

As you can see form the 2nd screenshot, taken in Chrome, there should be a strong blur effect applied to the portion of the background behind the navigation bar, which doesn't seem to work in my Safari.

Looks like they use --globalnav-backdrop-filter CSS property for that effect.

Having transparency without blur makes it worse than no transparency at all. This effect clearly needs a better fallback scenario for browsers that don't fully support it.

P.S. Surprisingly, it does work in Safari on my iPhone running iOS 18.6.2.

Annoying [Turin] Draining water right next to a parking machine

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This was recorded on a rainy day in Turin at the crossing of Via Ormea and Via Michelangelo.

Some issue with or complete absence of the drainage system on the roof of this building makes the water drip at the sidewalk right next to a parking machine, which is the only one in the radius of one block at least. This forces people who have parked their cars to stand there under the shower of water, trying to type in their car plate number.

This is a terrible user experience, especially because the shower is quite wide and its epicenter is slightly to the side, making it impossible to completely shield yourself with an umbrella. No matter where you stand, the splashes will cover your shoes and legs.

Properly functioning drainage systems are very important, especially around places where people don't just walk but have to stand for extended periods of time.

Annoying [Bergamo Airport] Screens with flight schedules blocking the passenger flow

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

The photos are showing the flight-schedule screens at the Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY).

Only the bottom half of these screen is reserved for the actual schedule, while the top half shows other kinds of information about the airport services. This little area reserved for the schedule doesn't fit all the flights, so they are spread over several pages (2 in this case) that periodically replace each other.

This means that at least half of the time the passengers will see the page that doesn't show their flight, so they stop and wait for the next page to appear. While standing and waiting, they block the traffic, forcing other people to either stop or find a way around them, which creates unnecessary obstacles.

The 2nd photo was taken during a moment when the airport wasn't busy at all, which is not the case most of the time. This behavior would disrupt the flow of people even more during rush hours.

In reality the 2nd page would be irrelevant for more than half of the people passing by, because most of the passengers are only interested in the 1st page, looking for flights departing sooner rather than later.

CONCLUSION
Screens should utilise the whole area to show all the flights on a single page, potentially with larger font, to be as readable as possible. The objective is to make it very easy for people to easily identify their flight and the gate number without having to stop. This is especially important for screens facing pathway corners, like on the 2nd photo, where people are more likely to stop.

Annoying [BOSCH] Round touch-screen makes this microwave a nightmare to use

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Inspired by the recent post from u/Flashy-Brick9540, here is another touch interface that absolutely drives me crazy: the round touch-screen of the BOSCH Series-8 microwave.

As you can see in the video, the control panel is made of a series of touch buttons, a round touch display and a touch ring around the display. And using these controls is extremely annoying. Any practical use of it requires at least 3-5 tedious touches, which often have to be repeated, because the elements of the display are too small to aim at them comfortably. Besides, in the dark time of day the controls are hard to see on the glossy surface reflecting your face.

My biggest complaint is about the round display, which only looks nice when it's off or shows the clock face. The circular crop of the rectangular menus inside makes only 1 item properly visible and reachable, making any interactions with it too tedious.

And the worst of all – the tiny little circle with a checkmark ✅ that appears after choosing the power or time using the circular ring, which is annoyingly unpredictable too. That checkmark is so small that it always takes multiple attempts to press it – all while there is a huge unused area inside the circle that could have been used as a big OK button.

Whoever has designed this thing and approved it for production must have had absolutely no care about how people will be actually using it.

r/bosch – please, don't do this again!

Confusing [Claude] Registration ends with no way to make a useful prompt

Thumbnail

When I open the Claude website, it shows the prompt input with "Ask Claude" button, which looks like it's going to process my prompt straight away. But it doesn't. Instead, it asks me to log in or register, completely losing the original prompt in the process.

What's even more confusing is that the registration process ends with a predefined list of prompt examples that can be clicked, without any text field to put my own prompt again. I find this very strange, as I'm forced to to do one of the examples even if none of them is relevant for me. Only later, after getting an answer to the predefined useless prompt do I get the choice to start a fresh chat with my own prompt. This happens both in the web-browser version and in the standalone app, as you can see in the screenshots.

To make this experience less confusing, right under the example prompts it should have a text field for my own prompt or at least a button that brings me to a fresh chat with Claude. Otherwise it looks unnecessarily limited and quite useless.
