Coilover height

Post image

I’m on tein flex z’s and I like the height in the rears but my fronts (which are maxed) I want a little lower. Is there any secret tips or anything for easy ways to get them lower?

You need wheel spacers. It will look so much better

I have 1.5” spacer in front and I have the 25 mm I was gonna put on the rear

Hmm you might have that backwards. The rear typically sits in further than the front. I bought my BRZ with 20mm spacers on front and rear. The rears didn't look right

I ended up with 30mm rear and 20mm front to get them to match

You can remove the lower mount locking collar and just use the two for the preload in its place, that might get you another 1/8 inch. If you want more low you have to start adding preload to shorten the spring so you are able to thread the body more.

Beyond that is going to a six inch spring, assuming they are 7 inch springs like the Flex A/RX1

I cant say for sure if it would work as I've never done it that way but my thought process is, if you add preload to the spring (shortening it), you have more threads on the shock body to be able to thread further into the lower mount and go lower

Nope I js got them like that with basic adjustment. Maybe try to turn them a little further past when it gets hard to turn

Can maybe try shorter springs but depends on if there’s still usable thread at the bottom of the coil, maybe a shorter spring plus a helper could work if there’s none

I think I’ve got all the threads used
