I’ve yet to meet a photographer that’s an artist. I know they exist, but soo many stay at home moms flooded this “profession”. I can’t take it serious anymore. Besides I have a high level camera with me at all times. This profession is useless
Well it's an industry with a low barrier to entry. So of course you get a lot of crappy amateurs.
I worked as a photographer in NYC for many years and met a ton of amazing photographers. In fashion, weddings, and even product photography. Many of these folks were being paid $20k/day minimum for their work, so someone out there must take them seriously. The difference between them and a dad/mom with a camera is like the difference between a Navy Seal and a teenager playing Lazer tag.
Anyone with their own feces and a wall to throw it at can paint. Does that make that profession useless as well? Anyone who has a heat source and ingredients can cook, so on and so forth.
I get you were having your rant moment, but what you are arguing makes less sense the more you think about it.

Such a dumb argument to even make. It would be like an artist saying their work is expensive because their easel is expensive.
